As a dancer, I would guess that the fall was due to a rough lead as opposed to a slick floor. Just watch how he throws her around....the jive is supposed to be quick but not rough.

This is not from the european championship 2007. The european latin 2007 was in Århus last weekend and Maurizio and Melinda didn't win.

I looked very close at the full quality movie and she didn't fall because of her dress... u can only see it, if you look very close. But Melinda and Maurizio were not the only one's, who had problems with the floor. There was a ballroom competition right before, and, as u know, they need a floor without that much wax.
