@TheMasterSlasher It is definitely possible. I know a friend's score went from 1460 to 1740 and another from 1200 to 1500( we were all middle schoolers, by the way). This improvement took place in one month. If we bunch of middle schoolers can do it, you certainly can
math was the easiest portion of the test I only missed one problem. many struggle with the puzzles. It isn't supposed to be an IQ test. A math genius could do poorly if he attacked the problems arrogantly and with a closed mind.
I am 11th grade in greece.i study differential equations, imaginary numbers, logarithms and sequences.Physics: thermodynamics, engineering +a total of 51 hours of classes, and i'm something more than average student. And here i hear about flying birds and tables.i need 18/20 to get into economics in athens and a friend of mine got 15/20 and got accepted Penn because e got 1440 on his SAT. ENGLISH IS NOT EVEN HIS NATIVE LANGUAGE AND HIS LESS THAN AN AVERAGE STUDENT.Those tests need improvements
ughh, scared for this. dont know why since im still in grade 8, but my bro did this shit last year and told me to study hard for it once im about to have it. lol ahh, y am i worrying.....
I don't understand how you did the simplifying at 5:30... o.O how did you find out the numbers to put at the bottom in the parentheses? I'm so confused :c
obviously the first couple questions are always easy, you should do a tutorial on like the last 5 questions in the math section. I usually end up getting some of those wrong
SUBSCRIBED!!! You are a legend and you have helped me so much :D I remember watching your video last year when i needed help in algebra and now im watching your video the SAT thanx bro you have no idea how much you've helped me out.
Uh oh... today I did my SAT and ran out of time and only got HALF the math questions right for two sections!! I'm stressing out right now! Will it affect your scores by a LOT?
@Killer67312 you don't lose points for omitted questions. I found myself doing better omitting some questions rather than taking wild last minute guesses. you should be fine.
Huhhh? I'm from Germany and......very confused :-/
These questions were sooooooo easy. Are they really part of an Assessment Test for UNIVERSITIES in America (that's what my dictionary says)? That's ridiculous!
@DasMeerli i'm also european, and i find these questions rather easy, but one thing that you have to keep in mind is that you get 25 minutes for 20 questions.
No, not really. The SAT and ACT tests are more for the purpose of proving that you learned what you should have in high school. Basically, they start at freshman level and work up to senior level. Each college/university has their own assessment test, but they won't let anyone take that unless they have a certain score on the ACT or SAT test. (Each college has a different score required, and some only accept SAT and others only take ACT; some will accept both.
@DasMeerli they are supposed to be easy. if you get one wrong you don't get perfect and there are 100. Also, they get harder later on. America is a huge country with different "math" levels learnt in each place. They can't just test higher level math when not everyone has actually learned it yet. They test easy math but u have to get it all 100% right if you want to do well and get into a good university.
I'm super scared for the sat's . im afraid i'll prolly get like really low scores BECAUSE of math.
im seriously horrible at algebra, geometry ANY kind of math, Does anyone know a way to help me get better? D; btw i cant have tutors, and school doesnt help either.
An except from David Mura's "Turning Japanese" will be on the SAT reading section this year. The Barrons SAT prep book has a passage excerpted from it.
jst had my SAT saturday. damn i wish i chekd this video out first =P college board

I just took them today. The math portion was so easy, well for me at least. It was probably the only section I felt confident about, writing went okay but the critical reading part was rough, i could not follow the passages because of the time given. i felt really rushed...
Not everyone has the resources to do well on the exam. And "easy" is pretty relative. Plus, this is only the math section; you are neglecting the writing and critical reading part.
i think the reason people do so poorly isnt because of the questions themselves, but people are so used to the wording being so simple in regular state mandated exams. its sad that schools prepare you for that rather than the actual SAT.
But I have a question.. how did you know in question #5 that you have to factor? b/c before you said that I was doing something completely different. So basically my question is.. how do you know what to do in moments like that in the SAT? How did you know is was time to factor on question number 5?
I dont know if I make my point on my question but please answer.
yeah lolnonamesleft, the public school system here isnt great, especially compared to the netherlands. but while there are a ton of idiots in the US, there are also several smart people. However, I knew all the material that the ACT covered, but I ended up with a 31 (which translates to about a 2100), so getting a perfect or near perfect score is not as easy as it seems. After a 2000, it really comes down to how many careless mistakes you make, not how intelligent you are.
Haha... This is absolutely hilarious... This is nothing like the Irish Leaving Cert(equivilent to the S.A.T. over here)... This is way easier than ordinary level maths here... Then theres higher level which makes this an absolute joke... On top of that we have to do Irish, English, a foreign language and 2-4 option subjects.... @confusedinthegroove: Even if they do have it easier, then it's not their fault. Just as it is isn't your fault that the Irish have it hard. nice im doin a sat prep class with my friend for our test in june we take a whole bunch of practice tests. my friends a freak he got like a 2100 on them lol
What kind of test is this? I'm from Holland as well. This must be a highschool test? If it is a final highschool test (at an age of 17,18) then I think it's way too easy...
Not at all. Only around 300 people get perfect scores annually, and as you go further into it, it gets harder. The first questions (shown here) ARE easy...
I'm 13, I tried some older ones and got: Reading:510 Writing:560 Math:620

What kind of test is this? I'm from Holland as well. This must be a highschool test? If it is a final highschool test (at an age of 17,18) then I think it's way too easy...

Not at all. Only around 300 people get perfect scores annually, and as you go further into it, it gets harder. The first questions (shown here) ARE easy...
