I have a 2004 rmz250 which I've had for 5 years. Rebuilt before I bought it. The only thing I've done to it is change the oil and filter. If you take care of it it will take care of you
I have a 2007 rmz 250.. its been raced by 3 different people including me.. 1 in intermediate.. and 2 in beginner.. Im just now replacing the piston.. all it needs is rings. but im tossing a new piston in it.. its by far the fastest 250f ive ever rode.
this may sound dumb but can you explain to me how to start off going fast? im use to letting the clutch out slowly and im not sure how to do it, thanks
yes the bike was bought with zero hours on it and yes it was maintaind and run in properly.and id like to see you afford new valves every 12 hours when for a 2010 model the quote was $750 for 4 valves. after 10 hours the bike did a throttle body and suzuki eventually replaced it for free, after that there was a rattle in the engine they said it was the cam chain so apparently replaced it with a 80 hour old cam chain out of a 09 bike the noise was still there and they refused to find the problem.
thepommy222 did you buy ur rmz brand new with zero hours on it. becasue if you buy a bike brand new you have to break it in properly otherwise you wont get many hours out of em. my bike has around 100 hours on it n the only reson it got rebuilt was becasue i was upgradeing the piston and other internals.
Yammy's all the way cuz i got a 2010 rmz 250 with 40 hours on it and it needs a full engine rebuild already wat a peice of shit itll cost $4200 to fix so now i got a 98 yz 125 for time being and it starts first kick every time and is running after 12 years i think suzuki need to do sumthig bout there bikes
@ThePommy222 Yeh, you 'll change your mind when time comes. 2-Strokes need piston, rings gaskets every 40, 50 or 60 hours of usage. But you cannot compare the cost of a 2-stroke top end rebuild with a 4-stroke top end rebuild. That's why i bought a RM250 2000. 2-stroke.
@ThePommy222 maybe try doing some maintenance... these are high performance bikes you cant ride 40 hours without adjusting... i have an 08 and i gotta do valves every 12 hours maximum
@ThePommy222 Uhh i have raced a 2007 rmz 450 in A class for 2 years. I had it rebuilt once with 250 hours on it last year and its up to 75 right now and still runnin like a champ.
@zombi105 you say yammis dont have any good stuff, my friend has a yz80 and he have riding it for 4 years, not ONE single problem on it, not one. so there is youre evidence
@ThePommy222 Dude.. you need to do take care of these bikes.. cleaning air filters and oil filters after a weekend of riding is a regular thing. these are motocross style bikes they require the attention. take care of it and it will run forever. My rmz-250 is a 06 and i finally need a rebuild this year.
@joshmontgomery12 i agree 100%. My 04 is running great after i revived it from dipshit owners before me who didn't take care of it. All about how you take care of it, proven fact by my bike.
@ThePommy222 40 hours = two valve clearance checks, change oil 4 times minimum, air filter when it's dirty. do it yourself and you'll save a shit ton. The 2010 rm-z got top honors in the transworld shootout, yamaha got last, notably because the yamaha was slow and gutless, while the rm-z was oozing power everywhere. my 04 is still running strong, starts first kick, and never quit on me. I also take care of it.
@ilikepie5720 my bike at 40 hours= new timing chain, new throttle body, 5 times it was in the shop getting worked on, serviced every 5 hours, airfilter washed after every ride and was never not done, new oil filter each time so we did take very good care of it but i dont blame the bike because suzuki refused to rebuild after we told them to so i dnt know what to blame lol half bike half dealership :/
@ThePommy222 i don't doubt you haven't taken care of it, you have a great track record, but do the work yourself, and you'll be surprised how much less it costs. after 40 hours, it's time to look at everything in the engine, but replace what needs replacing, measure the specs and go from there, shops just want to fix every little thing that isn't wrong. I blame the dealership, the bike just needs regular fixing. Yamahas requires less work at a cost in power output.
@ilikepie5720 Yer i know what you mean with the yammy's theyre heaps more reliable but r a bit slower than most other bikes but u gotta love the rmz's for power output the go alrite
@ThePommy222 i like suzuki's because they handle so effortlessly and turn on a dime. My 04 doesn't make power compared to any bike recently made, lol.
@ben1996ful I try to ride as hard as i can lol i do agree the bike did hit the limiter a lot but every time we took the bike to the shop they said it was fine
@dillonmitchum124 The rmz is going hard now tho keeping it off the limiter has been killing me tho no fun watsover :P lol owell its cheaper hahahahah but the things been shit from the word go like wat bike does a throttle body at 7 hours old??? hahaha SUZUKI good fun they keep u on ur toes lol
@ThePommy222 doesnt really matter bec. u will be redowing the engine anyway. if u actually use them for racing not for stupid trails like all u fags do
@theSMRT199 cool story bro needs less fucking stupidity and more fucking sense everyone rides bikes for a different reason i ride both mx and trails but both of them for fun ok why does everyone fight were all out there doing the same thing so dnt be dogging others bout there opinions and wat they do like my dad has a 09yz450f and does not find jumping fun at all its all personal preferance bro get over it :D and ride or die lol
@theSMRT199 ahhahaha r u talking about that kid that started saying crap about my video man im just screwing around who really cares i mean u know they started it :P lol
but i love yamaha dirt bikes they are the best

Rmz is better, because the Yz-f have a oil problems when you wheelie, the oil comes back and no lubrificate all parts, in Rmz isn´t happens.
jorgefgr 4 weeks ago
@jorgefgr That's way you get a 2 stroke you won't have that problem
