Just wanted ta know is Wendell Phillips still a H.S? and last time I was out in the old hood went by Dunbar, wats up with the uncut lawn, used to be clean over that way 24-7 guess they do'nt pay good with the City there either lol
My son Solo has been doing some thags within the Rap medium, has some tight grooves on myspace i think SOLO360
I play Bass myself homie, still doing the Oldschool way Christian and some R/B always glad to see Younger Cats still down with the Old school sound, a shout to my boy Pete Burke, my Bass guitar mentor fm the 35, off King Drive back n the day!
Don't mean too sound to old or behind the time's "not square" but what ever hap'd to Herb Kent the Kool Gent? last Dj we had that was Bad to the Bone for me was Tom Joyner, I got into the serious Jazz with that! Missing Skateing, it's been pertty boring here in MN. was cool fo raising Kids stress free, but miss the Lake sho, and all that!
Thanks Brother, I was a Kid when Herb useta have a skit called the Wa-hoo man, bout some Cat prowlin the Alleys etc, it was scary enough at night in the "Ghetto" (now called da hood)lol on the W-side then left us a little tramatized dogg, fo real man, ha,ha, I think we were more worried about rats than some wha-hoo man. Hope everything is blessed and good on yo end, still hope to Skate someday again, miss Chi-town, and all the lovely ladies, my ol friends ya know!
Just seeing this Kid, I'm Bigrick, were ya'll at Markham? have'nt been on Skates, since my Kids were young, but after seeing Rollbounce Man i went way back! being a Bassplayer homey, it made my blow the dust off that too and get busy having fun! Blessed to see so many young folk grooving to the jams we lived by from 5th Ave in the 60's to South commons late 70s, and not to forget 63rd Damen, shout out to The Yancy's, Mike Lewis, Tigers lounge which I did drive His Daughters wedding!
