The Login option has been taken out in Ubuntu 10.10 because since it's relase, it has not been supported yet. I read from multiple sources that GDM2setup and other programs will try to get it working in the future. For now all we can do is keep searching for programs that have found a way to actually change the whole login scheme itself.

hmm odd when i go to system>Administrator>loginscre­en it just gives me a choice to disable needing a password or to allow a certan amount of time for another person to be able to login im in need of some assistance with changing my login screen ps im using ubuntu v 9.10 if this helps

there we go. it's under sessions. thanks, appreciate it. also i'm using ubuntu 8.10. pretty much stock, i actually like the simplicity. the one thing i miss about windows and macos is a pull down menu where i can search through the hard disk similar to how you search through accessories, games, etc.

i think kubuntu which is based on kde has that option of searching. i am not really sure about this. But i think i've seen it in some of the screenies

Thanks :D I got the log in screen to work but emerald wont work. I dont know how to get the themes from emerald to appearance preferences :/

Have you got Emerald installed? "Emerald Themer"

then i hope you have got some of the emerald themes installed just click on it(when you launch the emerald themer) and it should work.
