  • Henry Burris?

  • I wish my teachers were this cool

  • I think everyone here is arguing about the wrong things. At least they are in the wrong manner.

  • @spruntfemalespray That's ignorant logic. Can you site your sources on how " u can cure cancer for about realistically a few hundred dollars(if u grow your own medicine)" and "raw cannabis eating at about 5 grams a day of some really good shit cures most healthy problems"? And by "healthy" I'm sure you meant "health." Otherwise it would be an oxymoron, only further exposing your lack of critical thinking.

  • @spruntfemalespray .you are a retard. if it cured cancerwould it not be legal already you absolute moron?rofl.youtube......

  • @laudrup90 theres probably already a cure for cancer but theres no profit to be made in that, hence we will never see it happen. So apart from your pot cures cancer theory, what other cures you suggest if its so easy?? My uncle just had an op for prostate cancer so if you have a solution then lets hear it!

  • @laudrup90 You're a retard if you think the government cares about the cure for cancer more than they care about money. Youtube....

  • @spruntfemalespray that is bullshit. And since I lost my mother to cancer, I do not like the it cleans up rubbish part either. But thank you for giving your opinion, I am sure B.M. would laugh his head off. Pott is a nice to have, and is the one of the few soft drug that does not kill anyone. SO I agree that it makes sense to legalise this in the US, as it is in my country, the Netherlands. Pott relieves pain with cancer patients, but it cannot heal it. Cancer is not a fungus.

  • @spruntfemalespray it does not cure cancer. That is bull.

  • Marijuana is only illegal because the government doesn't actually wanna help the public. I know that sounds ludacris and paranoid but unfortunately that's how it is.

  • The problem for Obama is that the majority of Americans are covered by private insurance and it's all they've ever known. Here in Canada, Universal Health Care is all we've ever known. It makes sense that neither of us wants to change. In any case, the system is run by special interest regardless. The elites will find a way to rip off the masses.

  • They need to hurry this shit up and stop the bullshit.

  • That is so true! LOL Our culture is completely fair weather fans. ha ha

  • Who the heck is saying they like the healthcare bill? What planet is this guy on?

  • The polls weren't actually against health care, polls from every research group in the country showed that the people overwhelmingly believe Obama didn't do enough with health care.

  • Steve erckel in the panel

  • in moderation! one J at a time, guys

  • now you're just embarrassing yourself, you state wrong info and brag about your degree, lighten up dude. IT IS JUST MUTHA F*CKIN' YOUTUBE!!!

  • if some1 has the ability please give me a job fighting4 weed...ill work my ass off

  • LEGALIZE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @thetvuser666

Agreed, Bill Markowitz, I mean Bill Maher. He changed his name from Bill Markowitz to Maher so his Atheist Audience don't question him. (Maher had a Jew father and was raised Roman Catholic). I like Bill Markowitz, but he really is biased when it comes to panel choices.

  • "oh it won? we like it" lol

  • 1:44 ONLY IF ITS LEGAL,

god, people are so willing to let everyone else dictate the rules. then, its okay in their mind. they can't make that decision themselves, how sad.

  • OVERGROW THE PLANET WITH GOD'S SWEET SWEET CANNABIS/HEMP!

  • Vote YES ON 19 in California to make history in this country this November

  • WTF polling data is bill looking at? After Obamacare passed, the polls indicate it's popularity is DECLINING...not increasing. And just wait until the taxes hit and the full cost of the thing becomes apparent. Of course, the parasites will love it...because they aren't the ones paying for it.

  • Lol i get good grade and smoke pot

ofcourse i do not do my homework high because i would be laughing and passing out but everyday after i do my homework i have a blunt and im perfectly fine, what i am trying to say is if you are focused to something it won't make a difference if you smoke pot or not aslong as you do it when it is appropraite

And pot has opened my eyes to how dumb religion is

  • bills so right at the end, america land of the followers.

  • @t4b5klh Yeah...I guess you must be referring to the Obamabots, right? Born followers; wooly sheep one and all.

  • Bill Maher for President!

  • A well produced video about Orange County California's government schools appears on Reason online. The Reason TV video is entitled, "A Teacher's Strike In Paradise".

  • A very astute commentary by Professor Walter Williams on Freedom Watch with Judge Andrew Napolitano regarding government schools. Go to freedomwatchonfox.

  • Jeff Garlin could be Pen Gilletses twin.

  • weed is all i need

  • Government education has had their way for decades and has ended up shortchanging students across the country. What is the government educational system but one of the biggest, most powerful monopolistic organizations in the America? Under its self-serving rules, it is nearly impossible to fire bad teachers. Administrators, superintendents and even janitors are paid exorbitant salaries while productive, successful teachers go under-rewarded. No competition produces perpetual bureaucracy.

  • @jeffersonianideal Game, set, match. Well played!

  • @jeffersonianideal, the sad thing is I highly doubt private schooling where you have to fork out money you don't even have is much better. I don't really adhere to the "well it's goverment ran, so it's bad" idea. I think that there will always be pros and cons.

  • @hoboboxerjoe Show me the statistics to indicate private schools are as bad or inferior to government schools and I will agree with you. The evidence simply doesn't exist. Why? Because competition forces private schools to perform. If they don't, parents pull their kids out. There is nothing that government does more efficiently than the private sector, when given an equal opportunity to do so. Both types of schools need funding to exist. One however, is voluntary the other is forced.

  • @jeffersonianideal, I never said it was for sure. I said I doubt it is much better in terms of overal education. I'd be happy to be proven wrong :). Private schools require money a lot of people simply do not have. Privatizing our education system would automatically make it so millions of children could not afford an education. So if you are suggesting we should switch to a private-only system, you are most definitelly wrong. Public school is a good thing

  • @hoboboxerjoe The more you research it, the more you will be convinced that government doesn't work. Private schools do require money, which is voluntary. Government schools require money too, which is collected forcibly through taxes. How much money? Try over $17,000 per student in Paterson, NJ according to Bob Bowdon, director of the documentary film "The Cartel". Return the revenue to the taxpayers. Privatization would create a need that would be filled by the private enterprise system.

  • @jeffersonianideal, I'm going to research this more, after I feel I have sufficient information on the way private school works, public schooling, and how we should be incorporating a more effective educational system for our children and ourselves. I'd love to hear any ideas you may have on the subject via PM.

  • @hoboboxerjoe I would encourage such research. I believe what you will find when comparing private schools (both secular and faith based) and government schools, there is no comparison. I apologize but I am not sure what you mean by PM.

  • @jeffersonianideal, thats not me saying that all public schools are good, or that they don't need work. I'm saying the concept itself is sound. I admit I don't know much about private schooling policy, perhaps if I'm compelled I will go and learn more first chance I get. But I do know they can enforce stricter dress-codes, and limit the amount of children they take in.

  • randi weingarten was never a teacher

  • I'm sure the Governor Schwarzenegger will be pleased. He used to smoke the weed back in the day. Who knows, maybe he still does!

  • we need to just get over the 'reefer madness' propoganda. Ganja is a plant, put here which can be used in many ways. Hopefully it will be DECRIMINALIZED so it can be grown right next to our tomato plants. If the state gets ahold of it, they'll ruin it like they did with tobacco. GET A GRIP AMERICA and GROW UP!!!!

  • Unlike alcohol, a substance with 110,000 overdoses annually in the U.S. alone, cannabis has zero overdoses in over 5,000 years of use; in fact, its linked to an increased life expectancy & reduced instances of certain cancers.

So, why are people losing custody of their children, their homes, jobs, clean records, health insurance, & dignity for choosing to use cannabis?

Instead of giving billions to drug cartels, let's boost our economy & stop putting otherwise law-abiding citizens in prisons.

  • Yea, legalize heroin and everyone will follow the trend... Idiots.

  • I really like Bill mauer. He's a pretty sharp guy.

  • his comment at the end is so true. once it becomes legalized everybody will just follow the trend and change their ignorant minds overnight. the old farts who claimed reefer madness will be like, "oh marijuana is legal, i guess it's not evil" and figure out it will help the pain of being old.

  • @dookielumps

Are you stupid or an ignoramus? The only reason Mary Jane is not legalized because the suits in Washington do not own any Weed Plantations, like they do Tobacco. Oh, how naive and young you are. You shall grow my son. Remember this, on any issue when discussing politics. MONEY TALKS, BULLSHIT WALKS. Money is always the primary intent and goal for most of these corrupt politicians.

I can guarantee you, if every senator owned a Weed Plantation, Weed would be legalized overnight.

  • @Romansteel13 I see where you're coming from, but I meant the way many people of the older generations see people who smoke weed as weird or inferior in some way, the social part of it. Obviously the MAIN reason is because these greedy F*CKS want to get some money out of it, but they are smart and figure f*ck it, keep it illegal and we will never have to worry about it, but weed is already going mainstream in some parts of the country.

  • @dookielumps

You joking? Most of the M.M. users happen to be in the older baby-boomer generation. Everywhere I go, I see an old bum living off social security smoking a joint. I don't know what world your living in man. It's not these old people the FDA and DEA are after, they are after the young ones. Why should the DEA , care about some 90 year old smoking pot?

  • @Romansteel13 we can both argue about dumb crap all day but the fact of the matter is that weed should have never been made illegal in the first place, it IS NOT dangerous, and if you really think so well too bad, I smoke almost everyday and most people would never know if i didn't tell them, and for that reason I think its a f*ckin joke that we are even arguing on youtube about this.

  • @dookielumps

I'm not arguing. Arguing is intelligent discourse. You are so overwhelmingly ignorant, i'm actually going to try and penetrate your thick skull. Not once, DID I ever STATE I was against WEED. According to you, WEED should be legal. Why not legalize Heroin? It's also natural, comes from a poppy seed. I'm all for decriminalizing weed, people shouldn't go to jail over a joint. Legalizing it is out of the question, idiots like you with weed = death to America.

  • Say whatever, I'm just gonna live my life and be happy. I try not to judge people, and overall am a good person. I don't see why you are taking this so seriously. Fact is the world is messed up and there ain't much regular people like us can do about it. Good luck and I wish you well in life.

  • @dookielumps

Diverting the question. I'm all for decriminalizing Weed, you 80 years old you have 20 pot plants in your backyard? KNOCK YOURSELF OUT! Since you want to legalize Marijauna, why not legalize. Methamphetamine, DMT, Heroin, Cocaine?

Heroin comes from a poppy plant, it grows in the earth just like the wondrous medicinal herb known as marijauna? Do you even know what carcinogens are? I have a Ph.D in a hard science. The Carcinogens in marijauna smoke 10x worse than cigarettes.

  • @dookielumps

Vaporizing Weed in order to extract THC, Tetrahydrocannabinol is probably the worst way to consume hashish. The mechanism of endocannabinoid synaptic transmission. I'll translate. Destroying your lungs to get HIGH is foolish. Bake Weed Muffins.

You may be a great person. That's fine, but you are completely, naive and deluded. I have been longer on this Earth than you have. Therefore I am more experienced and wiser than you. Respect your elders. This is all I can say to you.

  • @Romansteel13 Idiots like him have weed now. What does legalization have to do with it, you dunce? If anything, a legal, regulated market for marijuana would make it harder for underage people (and the mentally disabled) to acquire it.

And while I do favor drug legalization across the board, saying that heroin and cannabis are comparable because they both have natural origins is idiotic. Plastic has a natural origin, too, genius, but it's not a fucking plant, and neither is heroin. Cannabis is.

  • @Philfa

"regulated market for marijuana would make it harder for underage people"

Hey dunce, guess whose the biggest market for the Mexican Drug Cartels?! UNDER AGE PEOPLE, you fucking moron.

Heroin is a plant, a poppy seed is a plant you fucking moron.

Plastic is a polymer, gathered from many SYNTHETIC AMORPHOUS SOLIDS. MEANING NOT NATURAL. Heroin comes from a poppy seed, which is NATURAL. Guess, what American Soldiers are guarding in Afghanistan?! POPPY SEEDS, MORON!. Idiots, make me smile

  • @Romansteel13 You failed to understand my use of the word market. I wasn't talking about demographics, douche. Economics, University Boy. Economics.

Congratulations. You know how to look up plastic on Wikipedia. Anyway, the point is that all substances have a natural origin because they--however far removed they may be--come from nature. Is it that difficult to understand, University Boy? Fuck. Heroin is not just "poppy seeds." It's...ah, screw it. You can just look that up on Wikipedia too.

  • @Philfa

You know nothing about Biochemistry, I have a earned Bachelors Degree in Biochemistry from UCSC. You could get high from a tableted version of marijuana, without destroying your lungs with its carcinogens. 5 times worst, than cigarettes. Tetrahydrocannabinol, is the compound in Marijuana. To daze, herbivores as a self-defense mechanism to protect it from said, herbivores.

The name of the tablet, is Marinol. Go buy it, junkie.

  • @Romansteel13 Your broken English is really self-defeating when you're being insulting.

If marijuana's carcinogens are 5 times worse than cigarettes (which is only the byproduct of your misunderstanding of a common statistic), why are there no cases of lung cancer attributable to it?

And buying a pill version of something you could grow and smoke yourself does seem like the junkie thing to do. No thanks.

  • @Philfa

"why are there no cases of lung cancer attributable to it?"

Hey moron, moron idiot. The reason, there are no cases for lung cancer for it. IS PRECISELY because, Politicians and lobbyists OWN plantations, south of the border. The Porous border between, the USA and MEXICO, are precisely POROUS for Drug Trafficking. You chinless, wonder. Ask any Reputable M.D. or Ph.D what they think of Marijuana. Not some junkie, posing as a doctor. I rest my case, idiot.

  • @Romansteel13 You misunderstood again. Is English your first language? I expected better from you, University Boy.

  • @Philfa

Economics and demographics are inter-related. My chinless wonder. For a person who listens to the 'wise' Mos Def. You surely are an uneducated dolt. Historical economic recessions; such as the Great Depression of the 1930's, ... and interrelated set of factors, of which demographics. Moron. Moron, idiot. Why don't you be a stand-up American, like your Grandfather was. You pot-smoking, skateboarding idiot. Hahaha, I laugh at kids like you. Phillie, boy.

  • @Romansteel13 Skateboarding is life.

  • @Philfa

The specific fossil fuel input to fertilizer production is primarily natural ..... actual research of individual oil field production through out the world is running out of fuel.

Emphasis on 'running out of fuel'. Moron, you can't come up with anything. Skateboarding is life. HAHAHAHAHA. Idiot.

  • @Romansteel13 Did you really just quote something (always with the Wikipedia, this guy!) totally unrelated to the discussion at hand in order to redirect the phrase "running out of fuel" toward me for what I said in a previous comment? Did that really just happen? Remarkable.

    But yeah, skateboarding.

  • @Philfa

Yawn. You couldn't even detect the pun. What a moron!

The gist of my argument was, you are an idiot, you can't even come up with a proper comeback.

All indecipherable psychobabble, that comes out of ya :D.

  • @Romansteel13 Oh, irony.

  • @Philfa

Yeah, you are a very ironic person. I'm glad you realized that.

Keep adding Irony icing to the Irony cake.

    Dance for me puppet! Dance!

  • @Philfa

Mind games, don't end when you say they do, darling :).

  • @Romansteel13 Sooo..

explain to me again why lung cancer doesnt exist in your alternative reality???

Any1 who listens to a 17 year old wannabe nigger is automatically devoid of intelligence.

Probably some 75 IQ high school kid living with his parents.

  • @Romansteel13 And that is a perfect example of a red herring..

It is the typical last resort of a debater to slander his opponent in effort to divert attention from the topic of debate. Your homework assignment is a five paragraph essay.

Prompt: A single joint of marijuana has over six times more cancer causing carcinogens than a cigarette. Discuss why recent studies have suggested that there is no positive association with marijuana use and cancer.

  • @GetAFuckinClue

Moron. I'm not here to debate Marijuana. I could care less what a pothead does with his time.

I'm here to concede the fact that your opinion is worthless, because you listen to a 75 IQ troglodyte.

I'm a police officer, I openly smoke Marijuana as i'm walking my beat.

Getting paid by McDonald's Burger flipping kids like you while smoking a J.

    Living the good life.

  • @Romansteel13 I state not opinions but simply facts of life..

    GAFC

  • @GetAFuckinClue

    You are a moron.

You listen to Mac Miller an uneducated, amoral moronic wigger.

That says a lot about your character and musical tastes.

Your feeble mind cannot comprehend that opinions are not facts.

    Moron.

    MrMarijuanaKills (5 months ago) Spam

    Pot headed fool.

    Enough said.

  • @Romansteel13 Sir....You made my week ''Your feeble mind cannot comprehend that opinions are not facts.'' THANK YOU.The typical person these days does not understand that there is a difference.

  • @GetAFuckinClue

I have read reports (one on Fox's website) that supports the claim that THC kills cancer cells. I would like to see your article that claims a joint has over...etc.

  • @Romansteel13

People's musical preference is what it is. A musical preference....

Now using words like nigger (go ahead, you're certainly welcome, this IS America) in such a derogatory manner showcases one's intelligence more so than one's favorite musical artists. I think most educated people would agree. Did you vote for McCain?

  • Oh it won, we like it! lol Bill maher

  • Legalize Weed, checkout my Video.

  • i smoke ganja pretty much everyday and am on Honor Roll. I smoked at lunch during finals and had my Government test right after lunch, and i was one of the Top 3 scores in both of the Government classes, higher than the cops son who probably studied for hours the night before and has never smoked ganja.

  • @thabushdoctor

Thats actually a rare thing, most people become brain-dead on the stuff. But Hey, its CA, so who gives a fuck ?

I don't, I live in the Mid-West and have been waiting for the big one to drop CA into the Ocean.

  • @thabushdoctor

yeah, man. I'm in an honor society at my college, and I got a 4.0 GPA last semester.... it only helped....

    Legalize it Nov. 2010!

  • @thabushdoctor i too smoke on a daily basis and i read multiple books regularly on religion, politics, classics like tolstoy, sci fi, fantasy. i watch jeopardy and feel very confident. my family doesnt smoke but they will all say hands down im the smartest. Hell my nurse sister never smoked and recently told us that squrrells had sticky feet.... ya know like a frog, thats how they stick to trees. i will never go to the hospital she works at.

  • @thabushdoctor Good thing you call it ganja.

  • @thabushdoctor

"We are the proud parents of a child whose self esteem is sufficient that he doesn't need us promoting his minor scholastic achievements on the back of our car."

    - George Carlin.

Thought it was fitting. Who gives a shit if you are on Honor Roll in High School. I was valedictorian in the hardest Public University ON the PLANET to get into. I double majored In Hard Science (Astrophysics) & (Biochemistry). My brother is a pharmacist, and I do every drug known to man.

  • @thabushdoctor

"Here’s a bumper sticker I’d like to see: “We are the proud parents of a child who’s self-esteem is sufficient that he doesn’t need us promoting his minor scholastic achievements on the back of our car.”

    - George Carlin

Who the fuck cares if you scored in the TOP 3 of your government class. LMFAO.

I was valedictorian of my UC Berkeley class. I graduated with egregia cum laude, latin for with OUTSTANDING praise. I was number one out of a class of 312 GRAD-Students.

  • @Romansteel13 And yet you're still a douche bag.

  • @Philfa

Welcome, to Academia. You think, Academic Excellence is achieved through being nice?

  • @thabushdoctor I could say the same thing! Since I've smoked weed for the very first time my stress levels have been lower than ever and I'm able to focus more on schools and achieve my "always possible" 96% global average.

Stress has been the only thing hindering my abilities in school

  • It's true. Once it passes, we're on board!

  • sweet green leaves

  • Very very surprised Randi Weingarten (President of the American Federation of Teachers) was so in agreement... Makes me quite happy actually! People are finally looking at marijuana for what it is, not what the government and business owners wanted you to think of it.

  • Judging by the astute intellect of Ms. Weingarten, it is no mystery why illiteracy rates are up, high school graduation numbers are down and why the government education system is an overwhelming failure.

  • @jeffersonianideal no, it's no mystery at all- we pay teachers less than most taxi drivers make- so yeah, it's no mystery at all.

  • @tristramshandy3

TAX CUTS!!!!! Weren't they supposed to fix everything?

  • @tristramshandy3 The highest average teacher salaries are close to $56,000 per year with the lowest average being about $33,000 per year. This doesn't take into account health benefits, vacations and paid leave. The highest average taxi driver salaries are about $31,000 per year plus gratuities which are are voluntarily doled out by the consumer based on the performance of the cabbie. So what is your point? Nobody forces anyone to become a cab driver or a government school teacher.

  • @jeffersonianideal teachers don't make enough money where I live and I made more as a cab driver. That was my point- we don't respect the most important profession in our society.

    Have a nice evening.

    Life is the best!

  • @tristramshandy3 All the more reason to get the government (the Federal government first and State government eventually) out of education. The most critical element that a child needs to learn is how to read. A person proficient at reading is able to learn just about anything. Writing is next, followed by mathematics. Government schools are never content to stop there. They continue to perpetuate the fictitious virtues of big government, thus assuring government's permanent control.

  • @jeffersonianideal I agree about the reading- reading is the BEST, and the single most important skill any human will ever learn.

Look, I GET it- you don't trust or like govt. The truth is, I agree with you about that.

Here is the problem- I have studied the history of corporate malfeasance- and it doesn't appear as if you have.

History shows us time and time again that big business will sodomize the republic unless it is kept in check and regulated.

    Have a great day.

    Life is the best!

  • @tristramshandy3 The most important thing here is that we both mistrust the imperialist federal government of the United States. What makes the government inherently trustworthy then, to educate children? All the evidence shows that it is horrifically inefficient at doing so. Where is the evidence of such widespread incompetency and misconduct within the private school system? Libertarians condemn robustly, outright fraud and corporatism, the evil partnership between government and business.

  • @jeffersonianideal yes, we both distrust the govt- but we both have different solutions. I want to make govt more efficient and representative, and there are several very effective ways of doing that.

You seem to want to shut the govt down.

The public education system works fine in good neighborhoods- it only fails in impoverished areas- and we can fix that by getting off the property tax funding method.

Studies show charter schools are NOT BETTER than public schools.

    Have a great day!

  • @tristramshandy3 Charter schools are not the same as private schools but I'll go with your premise for the sake of argument. According the the L.A. Times, charter schools outperform government schools in all grade levels and among all ethnic groups. Oakland has led the pack. Even where test scores are even, charter schools produce graduation rates 7 to 10 percent higher than public schools and 8 to 10 percent are more likely to enroll in college.

  • @jeffersonianideal according to the most thorough study conducted to date by Stanford university charter schools do NOT do better than local public schools- the study was conducted over a 16 state radius, including California.

There are a few other studies that also claim to prove charter schools are no better. I live in a city with a TON of charter schools. A few are really good, but most are no better, or even worse than other local schools.

    Privatization has flaws.

    Alan Greenspan saw it.

  • @tristramshandy3 There is plenty evidence to support my side but I'll refrain from getting into a statistical pissing contest. Again, charter schools are not private schools, they are still funded through government force. We agree on property taxes so the bottom line is this: Those who prefer to send their kids to a government school, good luck and let them pay for their own little darlings. Those without children in a government school shouldn't be asked to pay for someone else's kid.

  • @jeffersonianideal I so do enjoy a good pissing contest; just last year I pissed almost thirty feet- there was a rather strong tailwind :)

Here's the problem, as I see it, with your response. You suffer when your fellow citizens aren't educated- as a result, you have a vested, personal interest in seeing EVERY American (hell, every person on earth) get a good education.

I find your stance on this issue to be myopic (short-sighted) and self defeating.

Take care my fellow human :)

  • @tristramshandy3 Any decision is only self-defeating if the individual has the choice to participate. If such an option is ever made available, I will live with the consequences. What you have prescribed is socialistic extortion. When you insist that those who have, be forced to give to those who have not, under the guise of it being in their own best interest to do so, where does it end? Health care, shelter, food? An already slippery slope is not merely being watered down but soaped up.

  • @jeffersonianideal That's fine=- go ahead and live a selfish, narcissistic life while society crumbles around you.

I hope you can afford a house in a gated community- for that is our future- gated communities and prisons.

    ME ME ME

    Sigh!

  • @tristramshandy3 Why do so many socialists always resort to playing the wealth envy card when they are losing a political argument? Its the economic equivalent of race baiting. Let me set my personal record straight to quell your false assumptions. I grew up middle class and as a minority member. Not poor but certainly not rich. I earned my way and never lived extravagantly. I pay my bills, taxes and give to charity despite the weak economy. I never lived in a gated community.

  • @jeffersonianideal wealth envy? Not sure what you are talking about. Losing an argument? Not sure what you are talking about there either.

You don't get it- as far as I am concerned. You say you don't want to pay for other people to get an education.

I say this: you'll either pay to educate them, or you'll pay for their ignorance.

(via more police, more prisons, etc.)

Libertarians are wonderful- but they forget something- we live in a SOCIETY.

    I'm not a socialist

    I'm an educationalist

    adios

  • @tristramshandy3 For an "educationalist", you make some rather counterintuitive assumptions. Any person who willingly and knowingly commits a crime and deprives another of life liberty or property is a criminal, not a victim. Protecedparody's comments, while simply put, sum it all up. Government schools have been getting carte blanche from taxpayers for years. 30% of students still do not graduate. Meanwhile, prison populations are increasing. Where's the correlation? There is none.

  • @jeffersonianideal where do the students live who disproportionately fail to graduate from these evil govt public schools? I've studied education- I suggest you do the same. The statistics are irrefutable- poor people, of all races, don't get well educated in the USA- it's the way we fund schools.

I grew up in a good neighborhood- I went to a really good govt run public school. So did my girlfriend- she lived in Fairfax Virginia. Govt run schools manage to do a GREAT job there.

    Take care.

  • @jeffersonianideal also, what does "Protecedparody" mean? I couldn't find it in my dictionary, or the all the omniscient "google".

    Thanks.

And thanks for at least sending me to the dictionary- it really doesn't happen very often in contemporary discourse.

  • @jeffersonianideal and lastly, you mentioned something about wealth envy two posts back. I called you out on it, but didn't ask you to elaborate.

I was just re-reading that post.

What, exactly, WERE you talking about?

How did you discern I suffer from wealth envy? What did I write that made you think that?

    I was just curious.

    Thanks :)

  • @jeffersonianideal It's no use. You're dealing with a collectivist imbecile who can't think past his own communalist delusions. They have had their way for decades. They told Americans that every social institution would get better as long as more taxpayer money was thrown at the problem. This has done nothing; everything has gotten worse. They have gone to the well for the last time. America is bankrupt and future generations will have to mop up the mess. Nearly half don't even pay taxes.

  • @jeffersonianideal "what makes the government inherently trustworthy the, to educate the children?"

    OK.

I ask you: what makes the private sector inherently trustworthy to educate the children?

    Here's the problem:

the govt is US. Or, is SUPPOSED to be. We should fix our govt so it's representative again- banning corporate cash, breaking up media monopolies, etc.

The private sector has no motivation to educate of the population.

search Utube video- george carlin american dream.

    He says it best!

  • @tristramshandy3 yBut I do believe that in this country, with the resources we have, you should have a right to an education, a right to health care, and an equal as an opportunity as physically possible. Money shouldn't be so cruicial for your physical and mental well being. It is ridiculous. I'd know, I've been living with cancer and other illnesses since I was 17. My education and my life has been on hold because I have no money and have been waiting over 36 months for my disability.

  • @jeffersonianideal "they continue to perpetuate the fictitious virtues of big government"

Can you discuss specifically HOW this is done?

    Can you provide some examples?

    Thanks.
