  • I've had this amp for years and never understood it in its entirety. Your video helped rekindle my interest in my own amp, LOL! Thanks!!!

  • this amp is great!!

used it live and in rehearsal!!

  • talk for 2 minutes play for 1?

  • im looking to buy this red stripe version if anyone is looking to sell contact me! cheers. p's from australia

  • Brilliant amp. Nice choice. I liked the Peavey Back Stage Plus. That was one my first amps. Can find one these days.

  • 3 minute review with maybe 30 seconds of the actual amp. Thanks.

  • i used to use this amp for gigs in pubs!! if u have a decent PA mic it up.

  • Less talking, more exploring the amps sounds please.

  • Less talking, more exploring the amps sounds pleaes.

  • Ha Shane, I noticed for the first time that you and I have the same terminator figure! Funny. Love this vid btw-best for blues playing on the tube so far! You were in the lead channel with a pre gain setting of about 2 on the vintage setting?

  • I recently bought this exact amp because of the great "killer blues sound" you get!

But I can't get this sound yet.

What guitar are you playing if I may ask?

    Thank you very much!

    Markus Ziman.

  • toca la guitarraaa hijo de puta. callate y toca joder.

  • yes buying dis off a friend for £100

  • Sounds great. What strato are u playing with?

  • Great vid Shane! I actually have a question for you if you don't mind? Yo see I also got a Bandit 112, but I'm dissatisfied with its reverb. That's the only thing that really bugs me! So I've been thinking about purchasing an Alesis reverb rack-unit like their midiverbs! . So my question is if it's possible to connect some kind of Alesis unit, or other rack unit into the Bandit 112 amp? And if it is, are you suposed to plug it into the loop? Thanx! /Jimmy

  • Yeah that must be an older model, Know anything about somthing from this decade buddy?

  • @GridGOD7778 Upload Date - 04 April 2007

  • @GridGOD7778

haha youre stupid 2007 is in this decade you dumbass hahahah

  • @GridGOD7778 you got some awesome vids you fucking douchebag?

  • what's the difference between this amp and the new bandit 112? (watch?v=ZsglPK0ayNw&feature=related)

  • You sound like Chase (a little bit, except your C's and K's) from House.

  • Comment removed

  • @FeralArtist no way dude it's Brett from flight of the Concords

  • @coltoncressida Lol!

  • Dudes, i got a question. Maybe a dumb one but what the hell, i've got a 112 bandit and my question is : can you combine (for example) an altrabass behringer for extra heavy sound? Or would it explode or something ?:) please, someone let me know: because i've been looking for some fuzzy/stonerriffic sounds. I would buy a green amp but my budget won't alowe it ...YET

  • Is there effect loop on it?

  • this amp loud enough for a small gig?

  • @FatKidCookie yes 100% even for a medium gig

  • transtube? so is it a tube amp or not?

  • @wowspare its half half. It has a preamp tube in the preamp section, and the poweramp section is solidstate. Therefore its more solidstate than tube.

  • @pilotoatomico there are no tubes in this amp. its all SS.

  • I hear a nod to Mr Hendrix in your playing rather like Little Wing.

  • this model looks better than the newer ones

  • This or the fender 212R?

  • can you get a really loud clean sound?

  • @TheSchoolsux345 ye man! it has its own clean master

  • I have this amp....it is GREAT!

  • @spankysteve43 yeah they are great amps for their price :D

  • so the lows and highs are bass and treble on the amp right?

  • Hey man, is this the 100 w version?? Maybe i'll get this one

  • @GregHM81 there is no 100w bandit to my knowledge but it does go up to 100w if you run an extension cab. otherwise it's 60w I think (or maybe 80) i can't remember

  • @intheblues Sorry my bad, the Bandit is 85 w, not 100. I'm wondering what's the difference between this one and the Envoy

  • I have the older model and it kicks ass but for some reason it wont turn on now... any suggestions?

  • @snower5554 sounds like the power transformer died, check leads and so forth too

  • Is this amp made in China?

  • @lyerlyman yeah but they are unbreakable.

  • @intheblues Your right. I bought one off Ebay the other day for about $160.00. It has the red stripe like this one but not the triangle at the bottom. It has the same controls as this one. It say it is a 2003 model on the back. Made in the U.S.A. I love this amp.

  • this or zt club 12?

  • you have voice like robert chase from "dr house"

  • @kwiatekzgniezna haha thanks man, i get that a lot on here.

  • The clean channel is similar to a Fender Deluxe Reverb.

Takes pedals just like a tube amp. I sold a Fender Blues Jr.

to get one of these. You have to get the Red Stripe 112. The previous

    version was brittle sounding

  • hey i love your playing.

what do you think about the vypyr series???

  • is this amp.....A FUCKING TANK?!?!?!??!?!!?!?!?

  • @TheSchoolsux345 they are tough mofo's :)

  • Is it possible to get that clean breakup at bedroom levels? How much does 10% and 100% on the T Dynamics differ? Does it work as an effective master volume?

Also; does this version of the bandit have a headphone out?

  • Is it possible to get that clean breakup at bedroom levels? How much does 10% and 100% on the T Dynamics differ? Does it work as an effective master volume?

  • can this amp take pedals?

  • So does the T dynamics thing work like an actuator?

  • less talky, more singy

  • Great Review Mate! These amps really excell on the clean channel and the Vintage setting of the drive channel. Hi and modern gains sound a little phony.

  • STOP TALKING and play, dude!!!!

    Sheesh!!!!

  • @surfco how are you supposed to learn about the amp if he doesnt

  • @guitarist1397 hehe :D Cheers man, that's the whole idea. It's not a chops fest video it's about the amp, exactly! :)

  • @surfco check my other bandit video

  • @intheblues I posted that 3 months ago... Sorry if I sounded rude.

    My sincere apologies :)

  • If i wanted to play stuff like trivium or bullet would I need a pedal? if so what can you recommend?

  • Besides a distortion pedal, you'd also want a pink guitar and a lots and lots of eyeliner.

  • that's what all the beasts use

  • E-H metal muff or Proco rat

  • I've got one of the old bandit's, the "scorpion equipped" 112, think it's 80watt? it's a pretty good amp, good enough for pub gigs and such, and being a peavey it does dirty rather damn well :P

  • Your guitar sounds nice and full. Just wondering, what string gauge do you use on your strats?

  • i miss this amp =(

  • You're getting amazing tone and sounds out of this amp!

The rich tone and harmonics blow away the samples of the Peavey Delta Blues amp posted on Peavey's web site.

Thanks a lot for making and posting these videos!!

I ran into Texas Johnny Brown at The Big Easy, Houston, TX, and offered to carry in his amp. I was surprised when this great old Blues Man pointed to a small Peavey Stereo transistor amp. Goes to show that we don't need to be tube amp snobs to play the Blues.

  • what´s better peavey bandit or marshall mg30??

  • HAHAHAHA!!!!!! I GOTTA MG30!!!!! Its the shitest Amp on Earth, I just completely hate the damn thing, Im gonna ditch it soon. Get this thing instead, or safe youre money & buy valved Amp

  • peavey bandit hands down. the mg30 is horrible.

  • why hands down?

  • because the bandit is a great amp for the price stay away from effects amps.

  • aaa i thought hands down is meaning negative

  • @Ironmuda ha my friend had an mg 30 and my cousin and i had bandits. we all hated the mg30 and loved the bandits. since then my friend has dumped his mg30 and gotten a bandit (:

  • I have the Marshall Mg30 and I am trading it in on Friday for the peavey bandit 65. the marshall is more of a practise guitar and the peavey is meant more for concert.

  • @ashleynicole2070 Dont make such bold statements when you're such a beginner. I dont even know where to being proving you wrong with your statement. First off, Marshall doesn't make guitars. Second, you're not playing any 'concerts' with a bandit. Third, you can't make such a blanket statement about Marshall vs Peavey. thats a whole nother argument.

  • peavey

  • @Ironmuda

    looooooooooooool

Marshall Mg ? I hope its joke

  • don't get an MG.

  • ok^^

  • fala demais!

    vai tomar no cu!

  • amplifier might sound a little bad until it warms when I put it hard?

  • ha you from cedar rapids? if so you sold me this amp (:

  • I'm from Melbourne, Australia :) haha Very, very unlikely it was me lol

  • that or marshall mg30fx / 50fx??

  • get the bandit. Alot better, ontop of that make sure you get this exact one. The one w/ the sheffiled 1230, and the red trim on the front. Its diff then the blue and gray ones because I just hated those. This one with the red though its fuckin epic man. Has 3 settings for distortion which are awesome, 2 clean setts w/ that lil switch thing, reverb, prescense, all tht good shit. Go ahead and get it. Got mine for only 250 and its evil.

  • ok... bad thing is that cant find that any stores... mg30 fx would cost about 200 €

  • just found... costs just too much... 600€

  • where are u from and where did you look?

  • im from finland i look'd from stores in finland and from thomann... found on one store but it costed just too much... where did you buy your ?

  • I live in USA and got it from a local shop. Go on USA's ebay and get lucky find one w/ international shipping. I'll keep an eye out 4 u

  • didn't find any of those with red lines... and i would like to get a brand new one... i think il buy marshall... cost's alot less than that.... some people have also recommended peavey vypyr 30? so how about it? does it got better heavy metal tone than marshall..?

  • fuck the vypyr dude. Hate those things. Sound like shit 2 my ears. cant get an exact right tone outa em. Marshall MG's are decent but not good or worth the money to me. Get like... shit. Whats ur budget? Can you get like randall? line 6? nething like that?

  • i dunno.. about 200€-300€

  • now i have roland cube 30x and i hate that piece of shit

  • yeah and alot of ppl swear by the cubes for metal tho. I never understood why. Played the micro cube and it was okay.

  • ok.. but it sounds crappy on my ear... but could it be cuz my guitar???

  • bandit - marchall fx amps suck

  • @sniizzei i dont know if you've chosen yet, but do NOT get a Marshall DFX amp. None of them. They all are worthless pieces of shit and i might give mine to charity when i get my new amp. People in Afirca could use it as a table or something.

  • @AJloeshx well i bought a peavey vypyr 30 a loong time ago

  • @sniizzei good stuff.

  • @AJloeshx thank you! :)

  • @sniizzei try the vypr 30 i had the original transtube bandit and it didnt do much for me

  • @boogieou818 yea i bought one couple of months ago and i love it! :) it's just great!

  • that is made in usa or in china??

  • that one is USA

  • Your voice sounds like Dr Chace from the t.v show House. I have a Bandit, it is a really nice amp if you use a distortion pedal with it, but the distortion on this amp is really harsh..

  • Peavey mon!

  • ur guitar is upside down!

  • its lefty

  • I have just only one question...is this combo ideal for playing songs from the Red Hot Chili Peppers...I use strat guitar, Korg multieffect, and EHX Big Muff...what are you think, is this combo ideal for me and for playing these songs? Thanks a lot

  • too much of a tube sound, I don't think i like that amp very much now.

  • Is there a Difference in the sheffield speaker and the blue marvel? I want one of these but i'm thinking of getting an older one, the new versions with the silver knobs dont look like there made as solid..

  • Not really.

    They both suck lol.

  • hey guys, i have the vox tonelab le and do you think it would sound good running through this? I play chevelle, breaking benjamin type hard rock... do you think this would be good for that?

  • Nice demo of the Bandit. I've had one for about 10 years and the clean on it has always been my favorite of all my amps. I've found that this amp responds really well to digital effects. This thing with a multi-fx pedal and you are set for some small to medium sized venues. I gigged with it for years before upgrading to stacks. Again, great demo and great playing. Very nice.

  • my clean chanel is usualy set up as V: 4 or 5 switch: set to vintage bass:6 mid: 4 treb:6

gives great clean sound i turn the mids down to 2 and use chorus when i play mettalica.

  • i have the exact same amp i have had it since 1999 and it still plays great. all i ever had to do was replace the power switch (got it out of a cheap amp i had) cuz it stoped working corectly and power would fade in and out.

i play metal southern rock and blues and it works very well for me.

  • Hey, great playing. You could definately win a Quentin Tarantion look-alike contest

  • @Jovicoh lmao :P cheers I think

  • Hi,

I have the exact same version/year model of Bandit 112 as you have in the video.

I can not find a manual describing this version, only a newer or an older version.

    Do you have that on-line?

  • Is this better than a marshall valvestate?

  • Comment removed

  • I have a problem when recording via the "speaker simulated direct output". In order to get a signal that's loud enough, I have to turn up the volume, so that my ears hurt. When playing at a good volume, the signal is all too low. Even if I turn the direct output knob to max. What should I do?

  • i have the exact same one

  • Thanks for this helpful, good sounding review.

  • I just bought an older version of this amp with basically the same features. No matter what I do, the lead channel seems to sound basically like an extremely high-gain blues amp at best. Nothing wrong with that, except that I play hardcore and metal. Is there a way to get a smoother distortion out of this amp?

  • use a pedal on a clean setting

  • how many watts is that?

  • 300

  • Actually the vypyr is a bit better because it uses the exact same circuit style as the bandit (peavey transtube). The vypyr is basically a bandit with effects

  • Not true. The Bandit can take pedals well, the Vypyr can't.

And the Vypyr isn't bad at any of the amps it models, but not great at doing it either. The Bandit has it's own tone.

  • Yeah but the vypyr has like every pedal you'll need. Except a graphic EQ. I don't know, I've owned both and I slightly prefer the vypyr. And the vypyr's 6505 model is AMAZING.

  • But again, the Vypyr is good at the pedals it models, but it isn't great at it.

But I guess that's really what all modelers are like. The Vypyr is a great amp as well.

And BTW, thank you for not freaking out on me like other people would.

  • Nice playing man.

  • thanx mate :0)

  • I have the same strap! XD

  • cool that is my favorite!

  • are these better than the peavy vypers?

  • I dont like digital effects amps, they all pretty much suck or don't nail the tone right on the head. The bandits sound great mate, give it a test against it and see what u think.

  • thnx. just lookin for something to replace a spider iii =/ a good combo amp if u kno what i mean.great vid man thnx.

  • the best smaller amps that still rock in my opinions are

    Fender Blues Jr

Peavey Bandit, Valveking and Delta Blues

    Yorkville Traynor

There's probably a few others but check these out man :)

  • ill c. im just trying to find an amp that will handle that 80's thrash but still have a great clean tone for some ska

  • maybe a marshall is more suited to what u want there's lots of good amps out there. If u can find a pedal that does the sound u want, it makes life easier :) u just go for a nice clean channel and the rest is easy

  • if i get a marshall it'll be a tube but thats expensive for me right now and i do have a pedal thats good for the distortion, the tonebone hot brit distortion idk if ur familiar with that. anyway i love this amp. has alot of tone and no digital \m/

  • Um AC15?

  • ive got the bandit 112 and im really wanting to sell it!

  • oh why ?

  • man thats an awesome amp do u know how much it usually sells for

  • Talk less, play more. 2/3 of this you're flapping your gums.

  • I got an other peavey bandit 112

  • is this better than new peavey bandit?

  • i had the old version and i absolutely loved it (until it died), then i played the new one and it was even more rawwr! ill definetely buy it, its just great

  • The new bandit is pretty awesome as well. I had a play test at a shop I couldn't hear much if any difference between this model and the new one. Old bandits are also kick arse I love them.

  • im gettin a 6505+ head =]

  • dude what kind of footswitch is that mine didnt come with one when i got it. this amp rapes great distortion

  • Its a peavey foot switch i believe they are sold separately now which sort of sucks :(. Great amp hey, I played it again tonight and it cooked :)Thanks.

  • wow that amp sounded so amazing

  • Would this amp be good for bass guitar also can I get uber metal sounds with it using an acoustic guitar

  • It's not a bass amp, no. You'll probably damage the speaker using a bass in there.

  • i perfer metal would this be a good amp for me?

  • very

  • i have this amp.. it's awseome for metal..

the "Modern" set extreeeemely close to metallica guitars.. it's really heavy! it also has the High Gain that i use to play stuff like Iron Maiden..

the Vintage distortion sounds more like depp purple or a light blues..

the amp is very very good!

  • Yeah it's known as a good metal/hard rock amp but the funny thing is how versatile this amp is compared with so many others I have or owned. I keep coming back to the bandit :)

  • check out my videos, I have some solos and parts of "The end of the line" from metallica.. all played using this amp..

  • Yeah I reckon it would man, that's what they are known for

  • im a metal fan,, stuff like slipknot, metallica, evile, SLAYER.

    is this good for me?

  • Yeah it's perfect. I have it. I have slipknot covers on my page where i use it. Check it out if you want!

  • thanks i just got it the 300 watt one =]

  • i didnt know they had a 300 watt model... what's it called? :O

  • well bandit 112 transtube series it says 300 watt on the back

  • Oh, it's not actually 300 watts... i thought the exact same thing when i got it. it's 100. idk why they wrote that...

  • I think that might be power consumption :) hehe RMS it's rated at 80Watt RMS and 100RMS with the extension speaker added.

  • Yeah the bandits are known as metal amps.

  • what a great sound! very hendrix like

  • damn, almost 2.5 minutes of talking.... just PLAY the guitar.
