  • Good evening Mike. Been a while.

Something so very special about every song you sing and play.

Just was listening to another YouTube friend singing this wonderful song, and saw your vid along the side.

Sorry it's been so long. Hope you are doing well.

  • Hi John

Its been quite a time since I’ve written notes to folk let alone put any new songs up.. I’ve also taken a bit of a sabbatical away from folk festivals looking for some form of inspiration. It always great to return to your channel and catch up with some of your songs over the last few months. They are always a joy to listen to and a kick start to picking up the wood and strings again. Hope your well.

    Kind regards

    Mike

  • THE FIRST VIDEO AND I SAW U

  • We love you too Mike! Brilliant as ever.

    Hope to see you soon.

    Happy New Year!

    Love

    M n S x. (Windermere)

  • ha.. fancy seeing you here.. lol.. have a wonderful new year.. tried to find you in fleetwood afterwoods.. it was great meeting up.. very special.. XXX

  • Jim Croce was a treasure around our way and you are most definitely a treasure on youtube and I suspect in real life. This is a sweet song and it's history makes it sweeter.

  • the kindest words again.. thank you..

  • Came looking for a lullabye tonight...I do believe I found it here...

  • i hope you have sweet dreams..

  • After a few such beautiful songs, how could I not?

  • Feel free to wake me anytime with one of your songs...........wether the words come out wrong or not!...Opps.........please don't be offended by my comment....it's meant to be silly and light hearted! I just enjoy listening to you and this was a beautiful song. Love always......Sue xx

  • i could never be offended by your kind words sue.. thank you for listening..

  • This man does the best cover versions of (usually) 'folky' song ever. The reason for this is that he doesn't try to copy the original he interprets it, he puts his own nuances on them, both vocally and guitarley (if there's such a word), you love the originals but I love how Mike adapts these to his own style. The vocals wobble a bit at times but that just increases the pleasure as he's sining live. Fantastic.

  • Hi MACHAWK123 Kind words as always .. Many thanks Mike

  • Excellent playing and singing!! Is there any guitar tabs available for what you played? Thanks..

  • hi bhchen....sorry.. i can't read tabs.. just listened to the original and worked it out.. have a go.. cheers M:)

  • Haha I'm just a mid twenties guy with a busy life. I put away my guitar a couple years back and get itchy for it here and there. Anyway your whole set on here is thoroughly enjoyed. It reminds me of how I used to sing with friends and we've all moved so far away from one another now. Thanks!

You seem pretty troubled. You have my support though and I think you can work it out.

  • wow amazing...im a young guitarist and i was wondering if youd be kind enough to write down the chords or tabs...id really appreciate it...your playing truly is amazing

    much love to jim croce

  • I was thinking James Taylor, You've got a friend or maybe something by John Mares??? I wish I could play, I have a real nice takamine, but haven't found the time to learn. I just watch and listen.

    Thanks,

    Angie

  • No, Ours are only a couple of hours, that would be so much fun. A festiveal here is like a carnavel with rides and booths to buy stuff. Come to think about it I think they have music FESTIVALS in the mountains. I will have to check it out....Well its time for me to start my day....If you have a

long list I will just enjoy what you play me right now.

    Angie

  • ours tend to be three days,, several stages and other venues and music sessions.. almost too much... have a good day..

  • Well you are right about this being better than a festival or as we would call it here a concert. I have a front row seat every night, how much better can it get. Do you also take requests?

    Have a great day....

    Angie

  • what song do you have in mind?

(now where did that come from...) True story but seriously, thanks for your lovely and kind comments. I hope you have fun and maybe post some of your own funky folk stuff. M:)
