  • i cant believe that 4.6 fit!

  • What was used for a sub frame ?

  • I can't imagine the handling is stellar, with the engine sitting that far forward, but then again I've never driven it... but I want to.

  • have fun doing a timing belt change

  • @donpatch123456789 No timing belt on a 5.0, the chain is good for the life of the engine.

  • Comment removed

  • i know somewhere on youtube there is a focus wit 351 in it

  • hey man i been trying to get the blue prints for making the kit but i cant find anything becuse im going to build the kit my self so where did u get your kit from ?

  • sooo its basically the mach 1 engine..?

  • lmao thats amazing man! Great job!

  • what kind of power is this making? Wouldnt mind having a bash against one in my 2L focus RS lol

  • Why without the supercharger???

  • awesome nice work

  • Thas is fuckin nuts. I really cant believe you got that motr to fit. Nicely done.

  • Finally Americans are finally doing engine swap!!

  • Cool. I was thinking about puttin a V-6 into my Focus when the current engine dies (only has 76k miles, so it'll be while).

  • @Cokecanninja if ur gonna go big. go balls out. 5.0L cyote only way man. i hear yea i got 104K got another 80+ till im evin think bout it

  • @dbend144 The most technical thing I've ever done to a car is jumpstart it. I just want something easy to install, without having to delete a bunch of accesories or change suspension, steering, etc.

  • @Cokecanninja in terms of simplicity this is pretty easy. you have all the parts just need to put em on. it requires little to no moding to a stock focus just tare off old parts and put new ones on. if ur gonna do a turbo or sum like that that requires ALOT more work unless u get a kit that is 6G it self and u still gotta tare the old shit off and put the new shit in

  • im thinking all it needs is a twin turbo kit and you are set =D thats pretty fucking sweet... i want to build one of these beasts myself

  • Cool build but it looks like it would be a nightmare to work on. Just havint to fix them in their stock form is bad enough.

  • why wasnt it like this from the factory....?

  • @bremnerthomas

Because the people who built this car wear pink underware so some real engineers had to come in and take up the slack.

  • you should def try to figure out a way to throw a kenne bell on that

  • imo a focus is not made for a V8 sound....that just doesnt fit

    but nice build anyway

  • Focus + V8 = rocket

  • damn how did you get that much money to do this?

  • @gp680 only bout 12G-20G to convert it. there are a few companies that make the entire chasey brakes stearing ac suspension ect for 6G then u just gotta get the engine trani and rear end. can get a used one for 8G

  • Did you convert this to rear wheel drive. Thinking about doing this to my Mazda 6, which is a Ford Fusion basically. Like to get a feeling for the size of the job. I was thinking of buying a wrecked Mustang GT and using motor, tranny, rear end, and front wheel assemblies. At that point though, might as well pull my body off the Mazda and try to drop it on the Mustang's. I dunno.

  • @supared25 Yes, he did. There's a bolt-in kit that uses mostly Mustang parts.

Not sure if it's available for the Fusion though.

  • thats a tighter fit than midget pussy. sounds diabolical on startup. big ups nice job

  • if the insurance ask...it's an exhaust and the bonnet was 'accidentally' welded shut...

  • @Renda1984 Crack kills dude, you need to lay off the pipe...

  • holy crap you actually got that beast in there?!?

  • @Renda1984 What are you talking about? There was nothing racist in my comment.

  • How awesome would it be to pull up in a shitty ford focus having other ppl laughing at you then you smoke them in a race.

  • Cool car looks real to me

    I have a real one

  • Looks like a factory install, but would imagine Ford would have liability headaches if it ever went into production.

  • yeah but its still a ford focus...

  • @Abubbaglump to you sir, you will never get it, will you?

I think this is a sweet sound coming from little car.

Yes, it's a focus, but it's a focus that will run with a stock vette. What do you think about that?

  • @macaddict3032 i think its an astronomical amount of money to waste on making a piece of shit focus fast. i never said it didnt sound cool of course it will sound cool its a v8 with a supercharger on it, i just think its a focus and i would never drive one even with a v8 because i dig pussy not cock.

  • @CUZC0M they have video of it driving out of the garage

  • @CUZC0M You know nothing about cars if you think this is fake, V8 swap focus exist lol

  • thats sooo bad ass how sick that fitts in there

  • I want to drop a 351 based stroker in my Fusion soo bad. Never thought I could get it under the hood. I guess I was wrong. Time to start building a motor! lol

  • aston martin start up right ther!

  • i want one... =P

  • i wana see it running

  • wooooooooooooooooow. best swap ever. not to mention it's a f'ing dohc V format engine. aka one of the widest engines available besides a WWII rotary plane engine hahahaha

    VERY nicely done.

  • @docstruthers actually a bugatti veyron engine is bigger but its in a W form

  • @tuugfo i said ONE OF the biggest. never said it was the biggest and a Bugatti engine is just proposturous. engineering marvel that is. Basically 2 V8's molded together working in harmony. INSANE. I mean i'm sure the car could be improved on are 36 radiators, 25 heat exchangers and 17 intercoolers and blah blah really necessary??? (numbers are estimates)

  • 100% perfect

  • how is i would like to know. did you use a shoehorn???

  • sleeper!!!

  • SWEET RIDE MAN!

  • who ever mad this car is a fuck tard from a-z u made the car worth less and too dam fast PS I WOULD OF DONE THE SAME FUCKING THING MAN LMAO DONT TELL FORD

  • would hate to have to change the plugs for that car haha, very nice though

  • @cornflaker power to w8 ratio 4 the win

  • RWD?

  • yeah imagine a guy in a 2010 roush pull up and the guy is just rich and ignorant watch me smoke this focus.......... i can see it now

  • how much does this cost and will it fit in a 2000 hatchback zx3?

  • @220Shepherd 12-20g

  • @dbend144 Lol that costs more than the car, it would be fun though

  • @220Shepherd focus with 5.0 35G or 2012 mustang gt 5.0 boss/gt 45G save you 10G and why not

  • @popple2000 I'm just telling it like it is, as a real car driving on public roads we are all subject to Insurance concerns. Now if you want to drive without a license and insurance its up to you.. I've known individuals who drive illegal cars (stolen) who drive constantly..from car to car, evading the law continuously. These are the types who will sideswipe you & keep on driving (Hit & run). OR..will hit you, and if the car is un-drivable will take off running. FAPP the cat??I hate acronyms!

  • @RichardEllisxyz tons of people swap out motors in different cars all the time and they still have insurance on the cars..they're rates change and the end up paying insurance on whatever the motor came out of

  • @RichardEllisxyz both you and popple2000 should note that in england if you do something like this, you have to get an engineers certificate to make sure that its legal for the road, then its just a matter of getting an mot [a roadworthyness test], then get insured [have to get quotes in, maybe go to a specialist] then get a tax disc - how would this be done in america

  • @timthemagicbus666 umm you dont need any of that bs in america.

  • @robby844 thanks for letting me know, i just know thats what would happen in england because its very beaurocratic over here

  • @timthemagicbus666 yeah but if you tell the DMV what you have then you have to pay for the car the transplant came out of.

  • @esardelis Once you do crunch your V8 Focus & the insurance adjuster sees your V8, he will wheel around cell-phone in hand dropping your policy in mid-stride. If you had any other prior claims he will be chatting with the corporate lawyers talkin' Insurance Fraud. Like doin' time??This scenario WILL get you time.

  • @RichardEllisxyz No one cares about your comments intraweb police, stfu and go fapp to your cat some more.

  • you still have it ... is it for sale?

  • why didnt you put the super charger?

  • rwd?

  • @supermaniac5 it has to be, no room up there for a transverse style fit.

  • anyone know where to find those headlights??

  • i would love to have that in my svtf

  • What gearbox do you have in it?

  • I bet plugs and wires are fun as hell to do on this...

  • i want to do this to my focus wagon

  • CAN YOU SAY SUPER DUPER SLEEPER?

  • insurance doesnt need to know

  • @esardelis more like what they dont know wont hurt them =P

  • @esardelis Yeah I stuck a Turbo Charger in mine. They needn't know.

  • @esardelis hahaha epic

  • lomoj

  • just fyi the 2000 cobra r was not supercharged. it actually had a naturally aspirated 5.4, not the blown 4.6 which was not offered in anything ford produced until the 2003 cobra came out

  • lol the cobra was a DOHC 4.6L dumbass

  • nvm your talking about the cobra R. not the cobra. Which i might add non were made in 2000. Besides the 2000 sent to australia

  • @srcej6 fyi they did build a mustang cobra in 2000, look up the 2000 mustang cobra type r it was factory supercharged and IMO it was the fastest and most bad ass cobra available, so IDK where the fuck you got your information but whoever or wherever you got it isn't a very reliable source

  • @lsteggy20 it was naturally asperated bud.

  • what is the weight bias on this? 60/40?

  • This is just SICK. I love it. A little pricey though. Just buy the cobra next time.

  • those cars are plenty fast with a turbo4 but I hate the front wheel drive cool swap but the v8 is a little much and a little heavy

  • so what did you have to do to make it fit?

I know you had to mod it for rear wheel drive, but i also know that the international version of the focus actually comes with a v8

  • no it doesnt,

  • That must've took a lot of fabrication to put a RWD layout in that car.

  • Theres supposedly a "bolt in" kit on the market.

  • wat ECU did you use? Is it the stock ECU from the Mustang?

  • dude that is awsome ive seen a couple 5.0 swaps ,but a 32 v 4.6,when i finish my 03 mustang i would really consider doing one of those.

  • that looks freakin awesome - tight fit, but very well done. Some people will never get why we gearheads do this stuff, but it makes perfect sense to me.

  • @wfangnxd117 petrolheads XD I'm with you there, mate. A gorgeous car sounding like a true american muscle. What's not to love?? =D

  • @wfangnxd117 As it does to me... Like I don't want to give away all my ideas... but a 440 Dakota... a 5.9 turbo diesel dakota... Oh yeah I have hundreds of projects for the future. Hope my Fiancée doesn't mind haha

  • @wfangnxd117 I remember the v8 you could get in a chevy vega.

  • shoulda just got a 99 cobra.

  • Why? with this combo you get the same power with like half the weight.

  • how much it cost to put and engine of that focus i want to do that and the top hp that engine have

  • looks cramped in the engine bay, top work thow, did you have to fabricate a transmission tunnel from scratch? any pics or vids of the front rear suspension

  • How do those fat ass modular heads fit in there?

  • Usually its not the heads that are a problem with putting these engines in small cars/trucks. Mainly its the headers; most of the time you have to make your own custom headers to make it fit. I used to have a picture on my computer of a Focus with a DOHC 4.6, but it was supercharged; didn't have a pic with the hood closed though so idk how he managed that.

  • i see. that one-ups the zx351 for sure! lol

  • Definately lol. I wonder how it handled all that power with such a short wheelbase.

  • damn dude this is hella badazz

  • holy fuck dude

  • i thought i couldnt be done . i always joked about it . its the most badass grocery getter i have ever seen

  • OMG awesome

  • what your you are saying is bullshit.

because i have the article of focus fanatic

that show that this is possible.

the name of the company that the swap

is called ati. name of article is get out the can opener ma were putting a V8 in the focus.

  • wooow, a foc making noise great^^

  • What's the point of running the 4.6 without the factory supercharger, the car might be more responsive with the regular GT motor.

  • The point is the supercharger wouldn't fit under the hood. Plus its still a 4v engine compared to the GT's 2v so it will still be more responsive.

  • There have been non supercharged DOHC 4.6s since 96 in the cobra, they weren't supercharged until 03.

  • Its an all aluminum motor with forged internals the Gt motor has a cast iron block with non-forged internals.

  • what motor is that mate??? brilliant vid!!!!!

  • is it a kit that you used or did you have to fabricate everything?

  • can that motor fit on an 08 focus?

  • Terminator Focus FTW!!

I saw this focus in person at a focus meet out by anaheim

    Focken sick!

  • This isn't a terminator motor, by looking at the upper intake manifold you can tell its a 99/01 cobra motor.

  • WTF its a bloody 351 Coyote engine

  • No it's not, google 99 or 01 Cobra engine, since there were no 00's made. You'll see that the motor looks exactly like the one in this car.

  • What back axle?

  • I did some digging, more likely an early Mustang Fox axle. Both the Focus and the Fox mustang are almost the same size.

  • But focuses arnt rear drive in america are they?

They must have totally rebuilt floor pane etc?

  • No focus is much like the Euro brothers, a native FWD. This focus is modified heavily by an individual and not connected to FomoCo. (its appeared to be inspired from Ford RS8 from SEMA several years ago) The physical size and the power output of the V-8 engine, as well as the amount of space available inside the Focus bonnet, the car have to be converted into RWD.

  • Welding in all the rear axle mounts etc must be hard, getting everything straight and in line and making body shell strong enough!

I can imagine a few surprises when people hear it!

I have seen rallycross rear drive conversions, a fiesta mk1 was a good one, cant recall what engine it had.

Metro 6r4 is a good factory version of a front drive car developed into a 4wd.

Although how much of it was metro I dont know!

  • Indeed, the torque on the 4.6 is enough to do some damage on poorly converted ones.

As far s the fiesta, more likely a cossworth turbo engine taken from Sierra XR4TI's or Escorts RS's. Driving these cars on high speed can be a real mental.

  • LOL I always bump into you!!! I was looking this stuff up after driving my aunts 2006 focus around all day:)

  • wow, without the supercharger, i know that ford re-did the 4.6l cobra motor to run specifically on boost....soo how much power does it make with such low compression??? thanks

  • How much that cost you?

  • cuanto vale el motor y el montaje???gracias

  • Make a custom cowl hood on that focus and throw in the Cobra supercharger!

  • fucking ehhh i love it

  • oh yeah......WHOO!

  • Hellz yeah!

  • :O !!!!
