@HeyKellyShea, yes the movie should have won at least one Oscar. It was disappointing. Maybe if there was an Oscar for best animated film... There is a movie festival in Brazil every year in a town called Gramado, but the country is more known for its soap operas for TV exported to many countries. Surely the Brazilian director and composers of "Rio" (Angry birds in the US) would win many "Kikitos" (the local Oscar) in Brazil, but it's an American production.

I was very unhappy that Real in Rio lost, but I like the muppets as well. I was just hoping that a new and refreshing song would win. But, once again the Oscar's proved me wromg. I just hope that a sequel is in the works and it beats everyone out.

The Muppets have been around since the 1960s and Rio is still fairly new in this decade. As I initially thought, we can't let the veterans always steal the spotlight from the still-rising films.

If you're not brazilian, well, Pantanal is a biome near Paraguay. Not in Rio.

@xTIYx, probably the director just wanted to show beautiful birds of our country. Also there is not a forest so in front of the Sugar Loaf Mountain like this or a small airport near the "sambódromo", which appears in the end of the movie etc. It's just a fantasy, but most part of the movie was correct. Let's see if it gets at least one Oscar, because the Brazilian director (really put his heart in this production) and composers deserve. Very well done movie in all details!

My brother loves this movie! He kicks his legs and lights up every time he hears the intro. :) I am so glad that I got it for him for Christmas.
