I liked this film and the twist. I agree with you it is like watching two different films. It’s a long movie but doesn’t feel like it since it moves so quickly. District 9 is a good one. However I like Fourth Kind also. It mixes religion with God. Meaning its a movie that tries to tell the viewers that God is the one flying in the UFOS.
i saw it yesterday on dvd it wasnt what i was expecting it was very different. i was expecting a hollywood freemason illuminati end of the world type movie but this was a pleasent supprise. However it was also full of subliminal representations and messages. Nigerians were not portrayed in a good light and there was only really one star howard stern. nothing like to hollywood movies where you have lots of different stars who have significant lines and parts.

This movie was very detailed. Had a very good ending (in my opinion) but most likely will not be making a 2nd movie. It just dosnt seem like it would happen, it would mess it up. But it was still very good considering the fact that they werent using a big budget. i'd give it a 9.5/10. (=

The synopsis you got is kinda wrong though. The aliens never were forced to work for the human population, they were just confined into a limited area. And the synopsis says Wikus was wanted by both sides. Pretty sure the prawns didnt really care about him, much less wanted him.
the last 20 minutes at the end tottaly owned everything transformers had. made my day easily the best movie this summer...well to some SOME teenagers and ignorant kids they'll think otherwise i suppose.

I personally felt that this movie was an allegory for apartheid in South Africa. Although I really, REALLY liked this movie, there were certain things that I didn't like about the film.
I don't see why they couldn't have formed gangs. Take technology away from people/aliens and they're basically living in the dark ages. What I don't understand is why the aliens did not revolt earlier. They didn't come across as a very peaceful species and they had awesome weapons which they end up selling for fking cat food.
I thought the alien CGI was decent. Special effects seemed top notch. Bloody heads and bodies being vapourised.

it was a really awesome movie and the fact that it was not directed by an american director and it also has a limited budget but it looks like a big budget film.....this is why i loved sci fi movies with action and story not some robot transforming to cars ,explosions and teen humor, this is the best sci fi film since i saw T2 and that was a long time ago....Niel blomkamp should direct Transformers 3 in my opinion because he's proven that he be a hell of a director...

This movie was very detailed. Had a very good ending (in my opinion) but most likely will not be making a 2nd movie. It just dosnt seem like it would happen, it would mess it up. But it was still very good considering the fact that they werent using a big budget. i'd give it a 9.5/10. (=

The synopsis you got is kinda wrong though. The aliens never were forced to work for the human population, they were just confined into a limited area. And the synopsis says Wikus was wanted by both sides. Pretty sure the prawns didnt really care about him, much less wanted him.

sorry for my english i am from greece,, District 9 premiered nearly at the end of summer, this makes it not a blockbuster wannabe, as bruno, or i am legend, neither hancock, i believe it is a sci fi instant classic, it is movie that 10 years from now we would refer to it. i agree that was as a two movies [blair witch project,cloverfield style, and a regular, but i was so in to the movie, that i dont understand tha issue.

I personally felt that this movie was an allegory for apartheid in South Africa. Although I really, REALLY liked this movie, there were certain things that I didn't like about the film.

I don't see why they couldn't have formed gangs. Take technology away from people/aliens and they're basically living in the dark ages. What I don't understand is why the aliens did not revolt earlier. They didn't come across as a very peaceful species and they had awesome weapons which they end up selling for fking cat food.
I thought the alien CGI was decent. Special effects seemed top notch. Bloody heads and bodies being vapourised.

I'm sure "shitty"(if that's a word) films have sequels, but not 2 months after production. You still place the blame on a widely known director that had little to do with movie.
It's an entirely new director with an entirely new cast. Historical ties plus a sci-fi twist, convincing narration, even pacing with character growth and fair bit of action.
