The tags already denote this piece for what it is: from Max Reger's Twelve Pieces, Op.59, this is the "Benedictus", Op.59 #9.
Personally, I could have liked the middle section to move faster and the climax to be yet louder, with all the swell-boxes open (maybe he wasn't using the Echo divisions, in which case I can understand his leaving that swell-lever alone). Also, this organ is supposed to have 4 expressive divisions yet I see only 3 expression-levers. Sorry to be so picky...
At the same time, I DO realise that in such a gigantic and very reverberant space (something like 475' x 290' x 100' minimum giving at least 14,000,000 cubit feet of air to deal with - the central nave-chancel vault as well as main transept have a height of 140'), it might be foolhardy if not foolish to play any faster. So be it.
Either way, the outer sections are played masterfully-well, though a little more "swell-boxing" (also in centre-part) could have helped. 4½ out of 5 stars!
I hope at least that that leftmost expression-lever is NOT assigned to the "register-crescendo" function. If anybody knows what's the order of expression-levers and to which divisions they apply, I'd be grateful. Thanks in advance!!

Wonderful!
So nice in this live cathedral.
(The view from his right is best. We like to also see the pedals.)
Please record Reger's major works here.
