@MCCOLM1982 depends on your definition of "good." for a 28 yr old who just randomly decided to go run a 100 one day, it's aiiiiight. but for an athlete? Not at all.
It's interesting because his stride and posture is very effective and it looks more proficient for the 400 meters because he's using less energy while still blazing the whole lap around. Having that same posture though for the 200 doesn't make sense because him leaning back soo much for a fast race would be counter productive for his speed. Him running 19.3 the way he did really does make 0 sense
English is my second language and I always struggle to understand other black athletes when they talk, but Michael's speech is so good and polished so I really enjoyed and understood everything he said. Great sprinter, great character.
this guy has been my hero sence i saw him break a record he got me into running track. an now i an one of the fastest in california in JC. track is life
@NuVeyebz Michael Johnson dominated for 7-8 years with a total of 18 Olympic and world championship gold medals, ran under 20s and 44s more than 20 times each, still holds 3 world records 300m (30.85), 400m (43.18), 4x400m (2:54.19).. how does he suck? Did Bailey accomplish all that? Nope. Sure MJ faked his injury but he's still one of the all-time greats!
@NuVeyebz Having been an elite athlete I know well that losers say little and winners say even less. One must be humble in victory and graceful in defeat. Johnson is afflicted by the same disease many successful athletes fall prey. His own ego. A true measure of a champion is not just what he accomplishes on the field but to a greater degree off the field. Their poise and tenure and humility, of which MJ shows little. This is fact.
@NuVeyebz You're a dumbass, Johnson was actually very humble besides the time he faked his injury against Bailey in 97, he admitted it a couple years later, get over it! And MJ is one of the greatest saying that he's not because YOU think he has an ego is dumb. Quit hating!
@NuVeyebz How can you possibly win if you don't think you're the very best? I mean, I know his ego is huge, but it simply comes natural... Bolt is worse...
Up until Bolt ran through the finish line I always thought Johnson 200 meter record would be up for decades... I thought the 400 was much more likely to be beat.. who knows...

It's a shame that He and MoGreene didn't make the olympic 200 for sydney, would have been interesting to see what he ran.

He's the greatest since Jesse Owens. And what a tremendous ambassador for the sport! The perfect marriage of unmatched talent and noble character.

Usain Bolt has broken MJ 200m WR, but if MJ only raced and trained for the 200m im sure he would have owned Bolt and gone below 19sec...

Finally the man who humiliated the Americans and showed them how to race!
A true sportsman and not as haughty Americans.
