The video has a great deal of requiem-pathos to it and reminds me of Virgin Black kind of music, although there's a much more explicit reference to hope at the end of this song here. How I understand it is as follows: we live in a world which is 'fallen' (no matter how you see that, theologically or whatever). It's like winter time, dark & cold and sometimes horrific in many ways. But there's hope because we always feel that the good/beautiful can reach farther. There's always hope.

i always find it interesting how a work of art has a life of its own like a child who is born thru us but is independent of us. I was personally dealing with the fascination for death and dark stuff which can sometimes be cathartic in dealing darkness in our own life but sometimes it goes too far and we always need to keep hope in our hearts
