  • I was in and on the floor.Lost my mind that night.Great footage my man.

  • Oh Bobby, those shorts.

  • Bruce once left his accordion in his car while he ran into a store for some smokes. He came out to find one of the windows smashed - and another accordion on his back seat. True story.

  • Who wears short shorts?Bobby wears short shorts.

  • Long live the soul of Jerry. I can't wait to be with him.

  • TRICKIN TRIPPIN. I FUCKIN LOVE YOU FOR THIS GIFT. THE MUSIC NEVER STOPS.

  • One of my favorite shows =) As always, the vibe was present and with Bruce Hornsby there I think he really made it even more magical ;P Glad I can still enjoy these shows now and I thank my two older brothers for being the biggest deadheads any sis can love =) peace

  • Love Welnick's mellow sound

  • I wasn't a great fan of Vince's sound. But to be honest, the entire band pretty much was done by the time Vince joined.

  • @phyuckyeu I did like the Garden run. If you like Bruce, you have to like the jam out of Terrapin from Hamilton in 92. Very solid.

  • Back in the early '70s, after living a few years in the jungle somewhere, we gathered enough bread to purchase a battery-powered record player. We had a few Dead LPs, some ISB, and "All Things Must Pass" to listen to when we could afford batteries, it was such a rare and tasty treat to hear this stuff out there in the wilds. Now I can tune into whatever Dead I want on my phone, my pad, or my computers. Not as rare as back then, but just as tasty. What a long, strange trip it's been indeed.

  • wheres this from-was i there?

  • OMG you go guys-love ya!

  • OMG you go guys-love ya!

  • @wjmotzel Well said my brutha. Point at a head who hasn't had their fair share of troubles and you'll be pointing into the abyss....btw, Vince and Bruce were just part of the evolution of the dead. That was the hottest seat in the industry to sit in...beside Bruce, who didn't wind up dead behind the keys.....?

  • i got to touch jerrys guitar at the RnR hall of fame! almost got kicked out but it was worth it! (w);D

  • I still feel YouTube is the best thing to have come along for spreading music quickly, you can live on it!!.......love Jerry's stare on Phil during his verse in Maggie's Farm....Ahhh I miss the old days man!!!!!! There's nothing Like those memories of GRATE FRIENDS and GRATE TOURS!!!

  • nice

  • I swear Bruce is dosed during this show.

  • If only it was HD

  • i love how this schmuck "with backstage passes" is a more knowledgeable fan; he sounds like an arrogant sob....i saw keith, brent, and vince; all were awesome, and, i agree about shoving those backstage passes

  • thanx.

  • Brent gone ,,He's Gone . What a gaping hole he left, then Big Jerry ... gone, now I play.. with all my heart.!

  • Bruce and Vince , Not Deadish !

  • 45:50 mark Bob kicks a balloon or beachball point blank

    right into jerry...hilarious.

  • Two people got left out in the cold.... I had to do it.

  • I love how Billy just nonchalantly chews his gum while keeping up with the rest of the crew.

  • this is a nice long show keeps me company for hours <3

  • third note, fifth song, second set, third drop, fourth keyboardist, ninth show, first tour, third night fifth of whiskey, quarter o.z., second coming, free FOUR all, dismiss other's opinions, tell other people to "shut their mouth" overanalyze wonderful free time machine shows that magically come back to life for us all to watch and enjoy! Dozens and dozens of shows on here now. Quit cher bitchin" dont like it- dont watch. peace

  • i could listen to Jerry tuning up for 3 hours and enjoy it...this is awesome..thank you

  • Thank You.

  • lol @ bobby's shorts

  • best opener in the whole dead repertoire

  • All of the critics that are giving their 10 cent oppinions on who the best qulified person for the keyboard is, needs to remember that the sound and stylings of both ivory twinkling genius were chosen by Jerry. Why you ask, becuase Jerry is the Mother F*%$^! CAPTAIN. If you take the time to keep your mouth shut and both ears clear and availible for the sounds of rythm and harmony between 2 keyboards you will be able to hear the fusion of all that grooves and flows with the music we love.

  • @IAMFARMPIE

I was at this show and it was a damn good time but that goddamn accordion needs to go.

  • so kind

  • Garcia

  • thank you grateful dead for some epic tours and awesome music.

  • I just love Black throated wind............Bobby I love you

  • That Bass that Phil plays on must weigh 110 lbs! Sounds wonderful, though....

  • This is the setlist for this show: Set I

Cold Rain & Snow, Wang Dang Doodle, Jack A Roe, Big River-> Maggie's Farm, Row Jimmy, Black Throated Wind, Tennessee Jed, The Music Never Stopped

    Set II

Help On The Way-> Slipknot!-> Franklin's Tower, Estimated Prophet-> Dark Star-> Drums-> Jam-> Stella Blue-> Turn On Your Love Light, E: It's All Over Now Baby Blue

  • I was at this show, After Playing two nights in Charlotte, NC, I got tickets for this show and drove up to Washington DC. It was an awesome show but the 2 night run in Charlotte Coliseum were a lot better, maybe because on this tour Charlotte was the only indoor venue they played and they rocked the house those two nights, I was about 10 rows back in center section. Brilliant show, God I miss those days.

  • love the stella

  • yeah what the f**k were they thinking!!vince is ok,but hornsby come on!! they could of got jon lord (deep purple) theres alot key men i can think of......the dead has taken big hits over the years and still...they are the best

  • @ironmatt68 One reason Hornsby didn't wind up in the band, is that he didn't fit in. He has the personality of a front man, and GD keyboarders are support musician (except Pig) At a sunday afternoon Shoreline show, I was sitting 5th row. Hornsby was yelling at Garcia by the 3rd song, requesting that they play a Hornsby tune. Not this day- Captn' wasn't tryin' to hear it. A few songs passed, and Bruce H left the piano and walked up to speak face to face. JG was not amused- told him to sit down.

  • @MrSk1111 Jerry loved Vince, and I believe most heads did too. Only a head with dead cover band experience was going to step in immediately- After Vince, PS, and Hornsby, the list was short. I think Vince did as good a job as anyone could, and was embraced by the band and the fans- unlike Brent, who did not initially receive a warm welcome. Hornsby sounded great and was very familiar with the music, but Vince had the skill and personality to get it done. "Birds of a feather, flock together....

  • @MrSk1111 Also wanted to comment that this show rips! RIP- Vinnie....

  • @MrSk1111: My friend Mighty Dave got a call to try out for the keyboard spot after Brent passed. From what he told me, playing the SONGS with them wasn't a problem, but when they veered off into Dead space, there were few who could go with them the way they liked. Welnick had serious chops, was already a touring pro, and he was a nice guy to anyone he met (esp. pretty gals..).

  • Hornsby sounds like a caravel ride man he sucks,, same sound over @ over like a skipping record, so happy thy chose" VINCE " HE ROCKS THIS SHOW !!!!

  • @yageman idoit you have no clue and are lost.!

  • @kochs1000

So what the fuck is your deal?

I was making fun of some moron for railing on hornsby, and I am being called an idiot for that?

Pretty cool bro. ....I'm not so sure I'm the one who is lost here.

  • @yageman Trust me yageman, I completely agree. I was at the show in Stockholm Sweden, first night of Europe tour and it was just Vince, no Hornsby yet, and they sucked so fucking bad I almost considered getting tickets home. Thank god Hornsby saved my fucking ASS that tour. I was at the Bill Graham Requiem show in GG Park and my heart dropped when I realized Hornsby was gone. I quit going a few months after that (300 plus shows), they just completely sucked with Vince as the only keyboardist.

  • @phyuckyeu gotta agree, it was never the same after Brent died
