I have a question. You have pre-programmed "Jonathan Smith" to be written with his address, what if you want to mention Jonathan Smith in the body of the letter ,without the address?
@hyoriyin That is a good ?. The way Dragon differentiates between a command (like Jonathan Smith, Wake-Up or Go to Sleep, etc.) is by listening for a brief pause before and after the command. I can be talking about Jonathan Smith all I want within the context of a paragraph, but as soon as I pause --> Then say Jonathan Smith --> Then pause again, it will execute the text macro as seen in the demo. This feature is actually customizable as well. I'd be happy to show anyone how!
@DragonTranscription Thanks for the respond! please post or link me the video on the demo . Would it be troublesome to undo the text macro if someone had meant to just say "Jonathan Smith" in a sentence, but had paused for a moment.
I wonder whether the software is tolerant of Asian and Japanese accent. You know some Chinese people lack voicing when they say B, D, G and Japanese people will read "Dargon" as "Do-ra-gone".
@SoundPubby Accents can seem a bit tricky, but we have overcome them some time ago. We do have a built in predisposed SEAsian accent, but Dragon can really learn any one. I have some clients from India that have lived in Texas for the last 20 years, resulting n an odd combo, but Dragon works great! This is also true for a few SEAsian clients that are living in Australia! Funny combos may take a little bit longer initially (~20-30 minutes), but with our help, anyone can use Dragon efficiently!
We actually offer free lifetime technical support for customers whom purchase directly from us... But, I would be happy to give you a few pointers and get you going in the right direction. Which version of Dragon did you purchase from Walmart?
@alaboutmy13 We are definitely planning on adding more videos in the near future. Check back for more soon! Let me know if there are any specific topics you would like to see discussed in future videos, and I would be happy to try and include them for you. If you have any specific questions, feel free to call or comment.
It's crap. It takes ages to do basic tasks. Just doesn't work well. I guess we will have to wait some more time for research to produce something that works and is fast enough to be able to keep up with you so that you don't have to wait for it to write what you've said. Also if it makes mistakes it takes ages to correct them using voice so you still have to work with the mouse and the voice.
@RyanWanciak It would work great for college. We have thousands of students already using it for just that. We offer more basic solutions in our Premium 11 and Professional 11 versions of Dragon Naturally Speaking. We also offer our Legal and Medical versions as well, of course. Let me know how I can be of any service.
Man, I wish I could get dragon to transcribe that fluently. It works wonderfully for me, but I have to start-stop my dictation to give Dragon time to catch up with me, and to correct words it mis-transcribes.
How do u fix the microphone problems, in the start after making a user, when it comes down for training, its the sound test, after 2 or 3 seconds it says there was a problem if the sound system
@21Blitz Well, that can be a very simple and sometimes difficult task without more information.
Which version make and number do you have? (Medical, Professional, Preferred...etc) and (7, 8, 9, 10, 11 ?).
What kind of computer (OS, RAM, Processor)?
What kind of headset (2-Prong, USB, Bluetooth, etc.?)
The best thing is to usually start off on the Microsoft end to make sure that your computer can hear you. Then we can check out whether Dragon can hear you.
@DragonTranscription Its DNS 10 Proff. And i was able to get the problem fixed. See i'm useing for the time being a PS3eye camera/mic. It works its was my computer, i needed a driver for it, just found it so. Anyhows its works great now, even better once i get a headset, but its so kickass just to set back and say search Youtube for bla bla bla, and boom its there. A must for anyone!!
@arvid3 Yes, lectures are quite easy! The reason being: that they are usually only one voice. As long as your lecture is in digital format, you need to convert it to a .wav file (11.025 kHz, 16-bit mono). You will also need to set up a dragon profile which uses a digital recorder as it's source, and voila! Let us know if we can help.
@rafamp Eu sei, eu fui pedir-lhes que por muito tempo. Eu tenho tantos amigos brasileiros que estão interessados, e não pode esperar para torná-lo disponível.
@tarzie84 I have heard of people using 3rd party programs like Wine to implement Dragon on Linux and Ubuntu. I myself have not tried it, but would be happy to help you figure it out.
Using the dictaphone in real time would be something like an "echo typing" right? i got a few more questions and u might probably hear from me later today.
@ssree87 Using the dictaphone in real time is the same thing as using a microphone. There would not be any echo, and the time to process the speech to text is fairly minimal (fractions of a second). The download price is the same as the boxed product. You would not be paying Tax/Tariff/Shipping. We always reduce the price for multiple licenses.
Yes Dragon works with all sorts of voice files (~.dss, .wav, .mP3, etc...).
Remember that it is software that is to be loaded on a windows computer. Once loaded you can use prerecorded voice files and have them transcribed by Dragon. You can use a file from a dictaphone or use the dictaphone in real time in place of a microphone.
I don't know. I really like this product. would be nice if i could get to know more about this product. I would really appreciate if you could give me an interactive demo.
@ssree87 That has been true in the past, as we have experienced lost/rejected/returned products when shipping to India. The downloadable solution tends to be the only viable one. Import taxes are very high and can result in a customers rejection upon receiving. Let me know how you would like to proceed.
@ssree87 We ship worldwide. But, as you can imagine, the shipping costs vary from country to country. It's usually around $30-$50 USD for shipping to India (7-9 Day Priority), depending on the quantity. Nevertheless, we also offer downloadable solutions for customers not wanting to pay for shipping. You will simply need to acquire a noise-canceling headset for your dictations. Let me know how I can be of further assistance.
@ssree87 Yes indeed it does. Dragon can work with a number of voice files. The best file type is a .wav file, but we can also work with mP3's, .dss, and more.
Let me know if you have any more questions. Feel free to call or email.
Unfortunately, there is no trial version of the software, but we are always happy to show you a live demonstration. For our live demo, we would be on the phone and I would grant you access to view my computer screen so we can address any questions and show you any features you may be interested in. Feel free to give me a call or reply to this thread so we can discuss it further.
hey i just bought this program and it seems really cool, but i don't have a mic. im probably gonna buy one later on. but i have a question, i keep getting this message when i open dragon saying that cannot find multimedia device, is that because i don't have mic connected to my computer?
Wow, very nice demo. Do you use this program for everyday work? Because you sure sound like it. In fact, are you using it to type comments too? Wow, that's a trip.
Indeed, we use the software everyday for both simple and complex tasks. Thank you for your interest. Let me know if I can ever answer any questions you may have.
It all depends on which version of the product you are looking for. Feel free to ask any specific questions here, or give me a call... I look forward to your response.
