  • "Bloody England" TREASON!!!

  • @10yrubikscubeguy I agree. Not much has come out of that place.

  • sounds excellent to me..i would buy it in a heart bit..."just the way it sounds" LOL

  • @plexilespaull Yeah, it's just precious isn't it? lol It actually sounds 10X better without those nasty Celestian speakers. I've plugged it into a good cab and it's not bad at all. Just the combination of the whole rig suck dog.

  • LOL if only marshall had spent 50 bucks more and incorperated that little pedal into the amp.

  • @Thespeakerofmanytru8 LOL, exactly what I was thinking. Now you can buy little Vox and Fender amps with all the toys built in, drum machines, backing tracks, aux inputs for any audio device and on and on and they SMOKE this thing at a fraction of the price. Marshall is the ultimate definition of "LOGO FEVER". lol

  • @groovydjs Yeah I have to admit the first time I bought a proper tube amp I looked at quite a few and was close to getting a Mesa Boogie and then I watched a Thin Lizzy concert on TV about a week before I was to buy it, saw Scott Gorham with a Marshall, heard his sound and bought one. Can't say I regret it but I think about it in the cold light of day and can't believe I bought it on a whim. Keep up the good work.

  • @Thespeakerofmanytru8 Thanks my friend. I've owned so many tube amps and they are just soooo much work to keep going all the time and noisy as hell. The times have changed and I've found what I like and that's what it's all about. Some people are on a constant quest for THAT tone, and I've found mine and am set for life. I wish all others the same contentment, no matter what gear that involves to get them to that point. Cheers.

  • Arn't you just reviewing a broken amp. I have 3 of these mini stacks in my collection and they sound decent with either a Strat or a Les Paul. When you turn the pots and the tone controls dont do anything maybe they are broken. Just saying because all my 3 Lead 12's you can roll off the treble and the bass quite easily and they sound pretty darn good for 30 year old solid states.

  • @yetikeeper Nope, I cleaned the pots after I shot the video and it cleaned right up, but sounds exactly the same and everybody else has said that their sounds just as horrible, until you of course. So, nope.

  • @groovydjs ok was just saying. I am a collector of marshall amps and these Lead 12's are not usually as bad as the one you have.

  • @yetikeeper You would honestly be the first person who has ever said a positive word about these amps. I can't find a sole who likes them at all. Of course Harmony Central is full of 12 'Tards, but even the kiddies can't sell them fast enough. I do think it's cute. I'll honestly just pull the guts, save them for the big day when it goes bye bye and stick something more interesting behind the face plate.

  • @groovydjs

maybe it just comes down to preference. I cant comment on me being the only one to say a positive word about them. I know lots of people who love them and i know people who hate them. I even know people who hate JCM800's which I cant understand myself. But I am a Marshall fan so perhaps i am just biased. Plus my main fully refurbed Lead 12 is signed by Jim Marshall himself, so perhaps I just have the only decent model LOL. Keep up the great videos.

  • @yetikeeper I've never liked the 800's either. Yeah, so it's easily a matter of preference. I've just honestly never heard a good sound from a Marshall. Then again, I'm a country picker and they don't have any usable clean tones that I've been able to listen to. Everybody has what they are passionate about and it's cool that you love them. A lot of people tend to, I don't understand it. lol But, they do and that's groovy my friend.

    Scott

  • It was on rhode island craigslist a day ago. Red 1980

  • @BIGBABYZIP That would be a trick. 1985 was the debut year for these. I do have the one red cabinet. What were they asking for the whole stack?

  • @groovydjs He's charging $300

  • @DivineCheezit I went and checked it out on Craig's List actually today. It is worth that as far as an investment piece goes. But as far as an amp goes, horrible as you can hear. But, they tend to go for about $500.00 on Ebay in white and for the 1985 version. I luked out (if you want to call it that.....lol) and grabbed this one for $222.00 and free shipping. The white one that was on Ebay the following week went for $499.99 plus $100.00 shipping.

  • @BIGBABYZIP It says 1980's not 1980

  • @DivineCheezit Yeah, I went to check that out.

  • WANT ANOTHER ONE.

  • @BIGBABYZIP Is it the one that's on Ebay right now?

  • 450 watts would blow their damn house down.

  • @TheMAJofficial True, but only if the volume was turned up. lol

  • Sell it to me

  • @awesomeicemanpeasant Sold. I have no problem selling it to you.

  • I like it....

  • @yamahabmxer1 Come and get it.........PLEASE.

  • "what the hell is that." "what?" "it sounds like something's broken in there." that's f***ing hilarious

  • @TheMAJofficial LOL, I know. I popped the head out of the cabinet and cleaned all of the pots out. No more static, but no change at all in the sound. It sounds like all the rest of these, just horrible. lol

  • That thing doesn't sound as bad as the new tube JVM series Marshalls or the all tube Haze those things sound terrible. The 800s are overrated. I like a friends old 60s 100 watt Super Lead stack but its really glassy clean and doesn't get much overdrive. But way to expensive for me. I have a Valvestate 100 watt 2x12 (not AVT) Marshall that does sound pretty good and it actually has decent reverb. Bought it new on sale for $400 in 2000 I am pretty happy with it overall.

  • @prescotian1500 I figured those Haze series would be pretty nasty. I would like to hear that 60's one. I'm all about pure clean with no hint of overdrive. Reverb....now that I can live with. I love to go swimming in a big pool of reverb for sure. I never leave home without it. lol

  • @groovydjs The same guy that has the Super Lead also has a 1964 blonde Fender Vibrolux that is the greatest sounding amp and reverb I have ever heard. He can't play a lick but he has nice equipment. I will have to see if he will video that Super Lead and let you hear it. You really should go try out those crappy Haze amps you will get a laugh. They should have called them the new Marshall MUD Series.

  • @prescotian1500 I really just don't like the tube amp sound at all, but if it trips your trigger, that's groovy and all that matters. I'm glad that I don't have any music stores near me. I would almost be tempted at listening to one of those nasty Haze amps. I'm sure that every 13 year old kid at Guitar Center has an Epiphone or Squier plugged though one in every store as we speak. I'll take your word for it and try to spare myself the horror. I've got bad enough tone here with this. lol

  • Evening Scott! had 2 drop n & C what ur up 2 my friend. The strings i used was the same kind the Ernie Balls. Yeah. They r good sounding strings until i rusted them. I wish we could get the Polyweb formula & take those strings & put that coating on them huh? That would b groovy.

  • @jeraldsrestoration Hi my man. Yeah, Ernie Ball makes them with the coating, but they screwed up like everybody else and put the coating on the strings and then wound them. Nobody else knows how to make a properly coated string. Too bad since EB strings really sound nice when they first go on.

  • Hey Scott, I was worried to see if you was effected by the brush fire out there that took out 26 houses. Can't wait for a new video. Btw, I am with you on those Ace Frehley guitars. They suck.

  • @FloydRoseDiscovery Howdy doody! Still alive and sort of kicking. No flames reached me. So, that's a good thing. My hoard of wood and strings are safe. lol I'm really hoping to get the new videos going late next week. I have everything through Thursday totally booked, but I'm dying to get some new stuff out there too.

  • @groovydjs thats good. I can't wait to see the video.

  • check out the new ernie ball coated strings they are called COBALTS.

  • @Fkepler2 I actually did and I got about an hour out of them. I give them all a try when they come out. I love the Ernie Ball strings when I first put them on, they sound GREAT. I just wish that my body chemicals weren't what they are, otherwise I would go back to playing them all the time. They were all I used until the Elixers hit the shelves.

  • these amps were made from inferior parts to keep production cost down they were & are a novelty . to play any amp with pots that are that dirty you're not going to get a full connection of your signal .speakers in the cabs are lame attempt at celestian I have bigger magnets on my fridge .to rate this in any category with real Marshall is joke that you would say Marshall with Les Paul sounds like garbage .to each his own opinion .BUT I guess then majority world WRONG ?! I THINK NOT 25¢ buy a clue

  • @jamaguitar699 Here we have another douche folks. Yes, I've owned the Plexi's and the 800's as stated and they too suck. The folks that are legends got decent sounds from them because of the Jackson mods that were done to them, NOT BECAUSE MARSHALL AMPS ARE ANY GOOD AT ANY SIZE. So, open your years and listen to the words I say instead of spewing shit. I have more clues than you have sense dumb ass. So, you are blocked simply for being a douche and clueless.

  • are you gonna go pick up the new Ace Frehley custom shop signature model from gibson. lol over 8 grand jeez gibsons crazy.

  • @Fkepler2 Not a chance on Earth that I would pick up that mess. I HATE those stupid reliced guitars. So, I'm not laying out a dime for a guitar that is already beat to shit. Just not my style. Hell, even the old ones with the 3 Dimarzio Super Distortions in them....the original run of 300, to be correct, didn't have the middle or neck position pickup wired up, just like Ace's. He only had the bridge pickup wired up. There's something brilliant huh? Put in another pickup, don't hook it up.

  • Hey Scott, just wondering if you got an epiphone "Mo'Baby" for sale from your vast collection?? just wondering, keep up the great work!!!

  • @TheVegastiki Howdy, sorry, no Epiphones at all and I'm not even familiar with that particular model. I'll be happy to look it up though so I know what it is at least.

  • are you still getting work done to a breadwinner? cuz i really wanna see how that turns out

  • @SoAwesomelyFunny All of my Breadwinners are complete. Which one were you wanting to check out?

  • @groovydjs the one you were going to put three single coils in

  • @SoAwesomelyFunny Oh, that.....I'm going to have one custom made by my custom guitar builder after he finishes up with my V.

  • @groovydjs alright! it'll be cool to see

  • I was getten 2 that lol. I havent fixed them yet. Waiten 2 C if u would like some my man! I got a sack full. & plenty of it 4 us lol. Hey!! We have some potato soup 2 go along with them huh? Oh man. Make u hungry lol. Now I wouldnt leave u out with having greens lol. Along with that potato soup my friend. Is that country or what? Ur awesome!!!

  • @jeraldsrestoration Shit Jerald my man. You sure know how to make a guy's stomach growl. I'm getting tired of eating Zingers and Twinkies all day. Your menu sounds like a feast my man!

  • I tell u what. There is nothing dry of that huh? Read that all day & then some 4 sure. Take ur own stylus & show her ur brailling skills lol LOL. That is awesome my man! The Stylus is a pen so lol. Right on brother man lol. I got some greens today so im gonna fix those up 4 super 2nite. Very cool now lol

  • @jeraldsrestoration You are just being mean now. Fixin' up some greens and I'm not getting any? What the hell? lol Put some on ice and have them life line flown over here. They are wonderful.

  • well actually my man. I think the only way is ur right hand bcus u cant do it with ur left 4 ur moving left 2 rite on the paper so. Its rite hand but ur finger gets dry so quick. I only use 1 finger 2 read it. My other finger on my left hand helps me go 2 the next line down. My middle finger feels the braille & i can read 4 a long time. Till my finger gets dry lol. U can read somethen so many times the braille will fade. I used a braille & Stylus Weird stuff i have used lol. Braille & Speak yep

  • @jeraldsrestoration Very cool, makes sense though. I figured that it would have to wear down fast if read repeatedly. Now, how about the little bumps around a girl's nipples, those must be fun to read. lol I don't think anything will be getting dry in that situation. lol

  • yeah. Just think. U read that with ur fingers. Its a hole different world of reading but lol. I can still do it Possibly teach it. It would take man. I started when i was 3 and about 10 years to no it like i do lol. U have shortcuts that r words u have 2 no the shortcut like. The. ok. That is just 4 dots n a different group the letters r n 1 thing. Yeah. Its hard. I never did braille math. Thank God i didnt lol. I should do a review of my braille machine huh Scott? that would b groovy right?

  • @jeraldsrestoration I think it would be totally groovy actually. Instructional products provide a good living for sure. How do you manage to still read it when you have roughed up your fingertips so much by playing guitar? Or are your right hand fingertips still soft enough to pick the bumps up?

  • Well the printer I have now is about 3 years old & the ink cartridge is $40 a piece, it has 2 of them. Its not worth it. U cant refill them cus they have the chip inside them so lol. Now braille printers r cool man! braille itself is different. I got so sick of learning it growing up G. I have a machine that does braille. Its like an old type wirter but u can take it anywhere no electric at all so lol. Not very many people understand braille. or how u no what ur reading lol. I hated it soo bad!!

  • @jeraldsrestoration I bet the braille printers are cool. I've seen them before and I felt like throwing a blanket on it. It seemed like it was cold or something with all those little bumps everywhere. lol

  • Somewhere in here I saw that you are not a Fan of Fender amps. Back in the day, about 1974 , when everyone thought it was cool to have to "reach" for the volume, I brought home a deluxe reverb and blew their asses away. I could't afford a STACK of anything then. For a "Knee High" amp, it rocks!! I should have blown it a long time ago.. I still take it for a spin once in while. OK. So I didn't blow em away, It was impressive though,,,,,

  • @stratodanster No, I'm not a fan of TUBE amps. I have a few Fender amps, but sold every single one of my Fender TUBE amps.

  • @groovydjs Got it.

  • yeah. The laser printers have really come down from where they were. I seen an HP 4 like $109 the toner cartridge u can get well over 1500 sheets out of it b4 another 1 of those. So. I did c some color lightscribe discs but, the color would fade, not last long so i guess i will have 2 do sticky. It will b a nice disc. The best part is. U will have the very 1st 1 with custom label that says groovydjs on it. The rest will not have that lol. 1 of a kind right there 4 u my friend!

  • @jeraldsrestoration Awesome my friend. I never use a printer for anything except to print my receipts for junk I buy to hand over to the tax man. lol I really hate using ink.

I'll be honored to have that disc my man!

  • well then. Ill have 2 do plant B lol. Order me a laser printer, print slim jewel case sleeves with my picture on it n color with the name & everything. Inside have the disc with the song titles on it. I hate sticky labels NASTY lol. but. II think that would b the best 4 me is 2 do it that way & leave the disc label with just text only. So. It would b cool. Then i just tape it up & sale them huh? Thanks my friend. When i get the label & art work correct. I will send 1 ur way Scott. That's groovy!

  • @jeraldsrestoration Yeah, that would be the only way to get the results you want. It sucks to use those sticky labels for sure. But, with all that they can do with everything in the world, you would think someone would've invented a way to burn a great looking picture to a disc, but nope. Go figure. lol

  • Scott, could you video cleaning the pots on this little amp. I have a Crate mini stack that has the same issue, dirty pots, and am too nervous to just spray some electronic cleaner in there. Only thing wrong with my amp, it sounds way better than this one.

  • @chrishpippin Sure, you just pull the guts out of it and there is a hole on the back of each pot. (unplug the power from your amp), squirt the BLUE SHOWER contact cleaner in there and twist the knob from zero to ten a bunch of times and just do that to each of the pots and you'll be good to go. Other brands of contact cleaner really do a poor job and may actually ADD to the problem. But, Blue Shower is the choice of all amp techs. It dries quickly and leaves no dust behind.

  • Hey Scott!! i want your input on something.... I have a "Gibson Midtown Custom" on layaway... im just asking if the guitar is really worth what im paying? ($1700)... If you could look at it and give me some feedback thatd be awesome... Im worried about the richlite fretboard.

  • @PenguinarityProd The fretboard is the best part of that guitar as far as I'm concerned. I'm not a fan of hollow body guitars or humbuckers etc. I really don't like rosewood fretboards either since they are the dirtiest fretboards around. They just collect so much sweat, dirt and such and it all sticks to the fretboard and then you grind your strings into that gunk all the time and that kills your strings. So, the new richlite fretboard is the best thing they could've done next to maple.

  • Scott. I needs some help my man. The lightscribe CDs i bout. I tried 2 do an image on a couple & u cant hardly make out the picture cus the area on top the disc is dark. What kind do u use? I need some that has the white serface umm. Help me lol. U cant make the picture out not like I want it 2 b. I want full color image not like this. Cant c my face on it lol. hardly at all. I think i got the dark serface discs & i need the white so u can c it good huh?

  • @jeraldsrestoration There is no such disc made that will do what you are looking for it to do my friend. It doesn't exist yet. The only way you can get what you want is those tacky, stick on labels. The Lightscribe discs are what I use. The gold topped DVD's. Then they make all of the colored CD's, but you're still going to only get the dark gray image. No colors at all. The laser simply burns the image onto the surface, kind of like a wood burning tool. So, it's stickers or Lightscribe.

  • U can not have 2 much of it tho. Or guitars more then anything. Stupid computer

  • @jeraldsrestoration So very true. I really need a bigger house. lol I need at least 3 rooms for guitars only. This one just filled up way too fast. lol

  • well. I tell u somethen my man. Ur like me with PA gear & stuff. Actually. I got plans on purchasing a hole new Peavey Power mixer with 12 inch speakers, stands, new sure mics, mic stands, External PA power amp 2000 watts umm. All the cables, monitors & a bass amp 2 go along with it all so.I got room 4 all that stuff. I made room lol. U cant have enuf PA gear around & amps. I would love 2 C ur liting rig. I still got four keyboards I used over the years as well under the bed lol.

  • @jeraldsrestoration Isn't it so easy to just keep piling on the gear? I know that I've sold at least 30 PA cabinets and a couple dozen power amps in the past year alone. Always upgrading to something different.

  • Yea tried one before but the vox isn't bad to mess around with

  • @douglasspriggs97 Yeah, Vox has a little 15 watt, solid state thing with a bunch of effects in it that is great for the bedroom and for RECORDING for sure. It's got some great little tones coming out of that magic box.

  • Hey Scott, Jon from WI. So - for a new guitarist give me an idea of decent brand of amp to be searching for. I looked at a Fender Mustang (just to start out with...?). I inherited my dad's old 1970' 100W Peavey tube amp. It's only dusty (as it hasn't been used since the '80"s). It still fires up & plays though. Thanks.... Jon

  • @spalleesjp Those little Mustangs aren't bad at all my friend. Plus you have all of the effects right there. They are a much better amp than this thing for sure. One of the hottest little amps on the market right now actually. I would go ahead and get one. It's got the most bang for the buck right now!

  • I think I'll stick with my vox

  • @douglasspriggs97 Those are generally right up there with these.

  • Scott. I would love 2 C a review on ur keys. I seen them n the back ground there Just show me those bad boys. I wanna purchase me a new keyboard as well. Do a big long hour review on it go thru the sounds & dog farts lol. That b it my friend.

  • @jeraldsrestoration Sure enough. The dog farts are my favorite sounds. It seems that most keyboards only have about 10 sounds that you would ever use in a live situation anyway and all the rest of them are more trumpets and flutes etc. But, dog farts....now we're talking!

  • dear lord. that sounded like bullshit. it's a shame too, because the white makes it look pretty cool

  • @taterfamine Yeah, it looks amazing and is a great conversation piece for sure. Maybe I'll just have good guts thrown in the head and say screw the resale value and make it into a great amp. It almost seems a shame to let such a cool looking amp go to waste. Plus, I'd really like to have a cute, little wall of these for fun. So, now to figure out what guts to drop in there.

  • @groovydjs how bout just taking a small, decent sounding clean amp's internals in there, and riggin a overdrive pedal right in the box with it? did it with a radio speaker, sounded pretty good for a homemade job!

  • @TheBrokenWing1 I hear you my friend. Sounds groovy. I had the Marshall head 100% apart last night. Found the ORIGINAL RECEIPT hidden inside of it. How groovy is that? lol It will be super easy to just toss the guts to something else in there and not screw with the original parts. I'll box them up and be able to put it back to original when it comes time to sell it. But, IT MUST BE BROUGHT TO LIFE while I own it. It's just to pretty to suck. lol

  • @groovydjs wow what a great find! hope you enjoy it, and i agree... looks too nice to sound that damn nasty! keep Groovin' my friend!

  • @TheBrokenWing1 Yeah, I think I'll drop the guts from a REAL amp into it until I sell it and put the original guts back in it. Everybody is going to want to hear that little sucker and even the guts from a Fender Frontman 25 would would really do this thing a LOT of good with very little work to be done.

  • I have one of these, its a commodity more than anything. But you've never heard a good Marshall!? have you ever listened to Van Halen?

  • @itsGoboboy That's why Eddie doesn't play Marshalls anymore, he playes Peavey. His Marshalls were all modded out. They were not stock Marshalls. Check yourself before you speak, you just make yourself look retarded.

  • hi Scott lol. I love 2 C a review of ur Keys.U got the guitar reviews & now. The Keyboard review. There is another request from ur buddy Jerald my friend lol. I would like C those tho.

  • @jeraldsrestoration Sure enough Jerald. I'll do a review of the keyboards. I actually use them for a ton of recording stuff and always forget to do reviews on the gear that I use the most. lol Hell, I've never even broke out all of my sound and lighting gear to demonstrate and my monster bass amp rig etc. There's so much stuff out in the garage. Yep, I still get a couple of vehicles out there with the 150 guitar cases out there and a few hundred pieces of gear that nobody's even seen. lol

  • I've never been a Les Paul fan either. I played a Univox copy back in the day and haven't found a real one that played that nice--ever-. I am now looking at a ESP EC series - resembles a Les Paul. What do you think ?? I value your opinion...Thanks,,, Dan....

  • @stratodanster I never make friends with this answer, but you asked. lol If it says "LTD" on the headstock, chances are that it's every bit as good as any guitar to come out of Sears back in the day. They are honestly on part with today's B.C. Rich stuff and not much more as a whole. You could end up with a good one, but don't just order one over the internet and expect it to be any good, because it will let you down. If you have your heart set on one, sit down and try out about 20 first.

  • @groovydjs OK, Like I said. I value your opinion. While I am a fender guy, I still like the look of a LP. They just look cool to me. The necks always feel like a two by four peice of lumber though. Maybe I'm just spoiled by good feeling Fender maple necks. My cousin had a yamaha, yes YAMAHA LP back in'75 that was fantastic. I suppose they got sued for it. I guess I'll go back to look for some of those old "copies". Any comments would be appreciated,,,,,,Thanks Dan,,,,

  • @stratodanster Hi Dan, now you're talking quality. The 70's Les Paul copies from Japan are some of the best guitars ever made. Ibanez, Aria Pro, Electra, Yamaha, Tokai, Greco etc. are just the best deals you'll ever find. Sure, the LTD has pretty paint on it, but they just honestly don't compare and you'll find yourself unhappy with it really fast and it will be up on Ebay wit the other 400 of them that aren't selling. Do some sniffing around on the oldies but goodies and see what you think.

  • @groovydjs I see what you mean. The one I spoke of that my cousin had was that yamaha Lord series or Studio Lord or something like that. I remember the magazine ads for the SG series back then but never paid too much attention. I remember Carlos playin one. Now I'm looking. I'll find the right one..Thanks .....Dan

  • @stratodanster My pleasure Dan. Let me know what you end up with. Yeah, those old Yamaha SG series guitars are fetching some crazy money now. They still have plenty of amazingly affordable axes that are just as great, just not as "trendy" which means...not as "spendy". lol

  • Oh God! Make it stop!!!! hahahahaha

  • @suicideasteroid LOL, It's over, you can unplug your ears now. It actually won't be turned on again until I clean the pots and list it for sale. It's not worth listening to, that's for sure.

  • Wow that amp sounds like shit compared to the Johnson. Hey I was wondering, when do you think you'll have the Lace Sensor Comparison vid posted? Hope all's well Scott.

  • @TheGargoyleLives Yeah, this is as bad of an amp as has ever been made. I hope to get to the Lace video soon. The time that I actually get to fire things up seems to be about the same time the Mrs. is ready to go to sleep. That's why I only end up with worthless garbage posted lately. I want to post up some new stuff and I can't do anything worth while when she's sleeping and I generally wake up about half an hour before she gets home from work. lol

  • @groovydjs Oh gee that sucks. Fly some guitars over here and I'll make the comparison myself :D Lol.

  • @TheGargoyleLives I'll be doing that video really soon my friend. I figured out a way to show how all of the pickups would be in each and every position. It's tricky, but...I've got you covered!

  • @groovydjs Sweet! Looking forward to it. I'm thinking about getting the Rainbow Pack (Emerald, RW Silver, and Purple) but the video may change my mind. Keep it groovy!

  • @TheGargoyleLives Are you aware of any guitar that has had that combination of pickups in them stock? I've never heard the Emerald or the Purple. Like I said, they don't make a bad pickup except for those Alumitone messes. I'd love to hear the others, but....you know my situation with being able to get to someplace that is able to support human life. lol I got another James Burton Tele and the bridge (Red) pickup was dead and I found 2 replacements, so I bought them both and it rocks now.

  • @groovydjs Unfortunately no. The only reference I have for the other pickups are the actual Lace Sensor YouTube channel.

  • As a kid I played through some of my brothers' bands spare equipment. My first "guitar" amp was an old Bogen PA amp with an input, volume, and a treble (that actually worked) hooked up to an old white fender cab that had a 15 " speaker in it. I could "drive" that thing to the edge of oblivion. Later, one of the guys hooked me up with a fuzz tone that plugged directly into the guitar. To this day, I still think the less knobs, the better. I let my pedals do the talkin'. Peace..

  • @stratodanster Mercy, I remember thos old Bogen PA heads. I actually had one of those too. I do the same thing. Find a good, clean amp and then just hit it with the FX and I'm good to go.

  • @groovydjs Your review of this marshall got me to reply. I'm not familiar with this model at all but your pedal seemed to clean it up quite a bit for the little that you demonstrated it. Sounds like it could be made acceptable with some tweaking, unless it is truly a real piece of shit. Anyway, I wouldn't want it. I have to think the new mini-micro stacks are better. ????

  • @stratodanster These amps art total shit. 100% shit. Nothing else to be said. It sounds exactly like it sounds on here. I didn't spend money on it hoping that it would sound like shit, that's for sure. I expected that it would, being a Marshall, and solid state at that. So, I was right. But, I know that I can get $500.00 out of it tomorrow and I only paid $222.00 with free shipping on Ebay, so....I'm not going to lose on it. So, I got to do the review, now it's for sale. Wanna Buy It?

  • I had one of those, I couldn't get rid of it fast enough. The most godawful thing I ever heard!

  • @suicideasteroid LOL, As you can tell....nothing has changed.

  • oh man Thats right 4 sure. Its been cloudy here all day & 50 out. Not bad at all. Piece of crap thing!! lol. It sounds good that RP50 does. I even C the JM150 right there 2 lol. I thought i heard ur knees pop when u bent down. Pop corn my man lol. Hey. I do it 2. That's my favorite part n this review is "Piece of crap thing" that is priceless.

  • @jeraldsrestoration Yeah, we're falling apart my friend. Gotta love it. I think I love doing reviews more when something I get SUCKS. It gives me more reason to bitch and moan. But, then I have to try to find someone to sell it to that hasn't seen the review of it. I get emails all the time when I'm selling gear where someone will tell me "a buddy of mine saw this guitar on You Tube and you saying how much it SUCKS". That doesn't sell things really well. lol

  • Iv got a Marshall with that big button that light up swell but I never though it was old

  • @acdchiway2hell It depends on a few things, is it a micro stack like this one? What model is your amp?

  • I'm curious, what combination of amp/guitar is you preference?

  • @ZakkHendrix666 The amp is easy. The Johnson Mellinnium JM150. The guitar would be much harder. I've had the perfect guitar built, but never quite found such a thing on the market. But, for a quick and easy answer, it would be a Strat Plus.

  • All my friends in High School used the Marshall / LesPaul setup lol. I was playing a Strat through an Ampeg V4.

  • @tjport1980 BINGO! I was using the Ampeg V4 as my main amp too. TONS of clean power to be had there. I loved that old stack. A Strat through that amp was amazing wasn't it?

  • yeah!. No snow sounds nice. Actually here its not been that bad of a winter so far. I hope we dont have an ice storm again because all my heat is electric but. They will give u the option of going somewhere warm. Im not leaving if it gets to cold. I wanna get an electric generator that charges n the wall & run things off it. Those r cool man! I can get a gas 1 anyway. Well. U have a good my man & might play some guitar & watch movies or something huh? guitar man. Jerry Reed

  • @jeraldsrestoration I think the Midwest needs to build a big bubble over it to keep all that yucky weather out of the way, then just open up the ceiling when it gets nice outside! lol

  • the only way to make marshall sound good is modify it just about every single signature series they sell has been modified in some way

  • @bassplayer2011ify True. A Marshall is like clay. It gives you something to work with, but by itself, it's just a lump of worthless crap. lol

  • My goodness Thats really nice of u my friend. I wanna check out the Ponderosa ranch 4 sure & Lake Taho, Im more familiar with the St. Louis & that area. 2 me it would seem safer as well.U no i think we chat the most out of a lot of people that view ur videos. Nobody would dare 2 b that stupid 2 wanna come kill u. I would have a shot gun waiting with a 3.5 inch slug 4 em lol. So yeah. Illinois is something else. Again, we're guitar buddies all the way & that's just how it is.

  • @jeraldsrestoration Oh yeah, I'm heavily protected for sure. I have no worries there. lol Oh yeah.....I'm an Indiana boy that ended up here because of the NO SNOW EVER thing. lol After traveling around enough, I found this little hole in the wall town that fit all I was looking for to retire in. No snow was first on my list. lol

  • @groovydjs hey could review a peavey 5150

  • @TheMAJofficial Those are just SOOOOO much better than any stock Marshall I've ever heard.

  • @groovydjs yep me and my bass player love all Peavey gear (no les paul through a Marshall... Strat with Bill Lawrence through 6505)

  • @TheMAJofficial Good man! Gott a love the Bill Lawrence stuff. I love his pickups!

  • Wait a minute...Scott lol. Did i a couple of bones pop when u bent down? lol. Hey! i do that 2 & proud of it lol. Hey!! I do like that little effects pedal u used. But. U have 2 admit. It dont sound like ur Johnson JM150 lol. This is awesome.. That pedal sounds good though. But u no what. I think that speaker is cracked. U put a new speaker n it it should b better. Speaker is shot 2 my ears it does.

  • @jeraldsrestoration Yeah, my bones have popped since I was a kid. Every time I kneel down....it sounds like the 4th of July. lol The speakers are all fine in those cabinets, they just lound like what they sound like. lol Yeah, there's nothing that sounds like that Johnson. It's an amazing amp. I sold all of my supposedly great amps as soon as I bought my first one and it's been nothing but more of those as I found them. The other little amps I have came free with Ebay purchased guitars.

  • you ever seen it in purple or red ?.....seen a red one ....heard of ones in purple ?or was it pink?....yuck

  • @RavenMadd9 I have the bottom cabine in red that I show in this video. Marshall makes different models and I have seen a purple combo and a purple, full sized half stack. They've done the purple a lot. Same with the red. They have made a lot of different red stacks and combos. Pink.....that one I haven't seen. Black would be too boring, I would never get one in black.

  • What's your opinion on Mesa Boogie?

I've seen them popping up on some country vids,or they just going with the ripped jeans and bleached hair thing?

  • @mattallica464 I've had some great Mesa stuff in the past. They are a far, far better amp overall than Marshalls are or ever have been. But the general public isn't too smart, so the Marshall junk will stay around longer than the Boogie stuff. I hope kids wise up some day. At least they realize that the junky B.C. Rick Bronze Warlocks and such are junk, maybe they'll finally "Get it" when they get a nasty little Marshall with those Rich things. lol They need to get past logos.

  • @groovydjs

I found that for me(standard tuned open E and A riff rock) the crunch comes from the volume not the distortion on my Mesa,Clean tones i a/b with a solid state.

I have noticed that about the logo thing on utube with these fake Les Pauls, buy them for$300 spend $1000

rebuilding it and putting Gibson parts on it,and then they says it's better than a Gibson?WTF! So the name is worth more than the guitar, but the real guitar itself is overpriced?

    peace

  • @mattallica464 I hear you on that whole faking thing. I hate that garbage more than anything. Especially those millions of fake Les Pauls, Fenders and Ibanez axes that are all over Ebay that you can buy from iOffer Dot C O M. Just sad stuff. Yeah, I find that pretty much every guitar that folks are always drooling over are genrally amazingly overpriced and the real superb and forgotten axes like the old USA Peavey T series and early to mid 80's Ibanez Roadstar II's are the best deals going.

  • I want to see you with your wife.

  • @joab302016 And why would that be?

  • @groovydjs I think that will be cool.

  • @joab302016 I don't think that she would ever allow me to put her face on a video. She's very camera shy. She has no reason to be, that's for sure.

  • Yeah Scott my man! my buddy said the best way 2 get 2 Nevada is thru Memphis. I calculated it up & if we went thru St. Louis That way. There r toll roads. So. Im hoping real soon we can hed ur way lol. Talk guitar huh? What i told him. Drive strait thru stop 4 gas & bring a cooler of drinks, sandwiches & things. Pull out at 4AM take off so. Thats right, Who nos maybe go on 2 California huh? Lot of gas that far but. I love 2 travel being on the road playing music did that 2 me lol

  • @jeraldsrestoration Anytime my friend. I'll be here unless one of the goofy kids on here decides to drive out here and shoot me for being a smart ass. lol I get those death threats every single day from them over something as little as what picks or strings I use. lol You gotta wonder just how much more moronic the folks in this country can get huh? lol You are welcome to my home anytime my man and I'll pay the tolls for you.

  • never seen a white one?...wow

  • @RavenMadd9 Yeah, the white is a hard find.

  • Heh well you can at least rest assured that you can still use it for grunge...<.<

  • @prettycolors2 LOL, that's true.

  • I use software (amplitube 3) that accuratly models amps and pedals. Whenever I try out a marshall, I too put on maximum bass and minimum treble, or my ears will bleed...

I first thought it was an inaccurate representation, sadly enough, it's not:p

  • @Guitarvirtuoso666 You are quite correct. It sounds like your software is pretty accurate. Every Marshall I've had has been the same way. They are just ear splittingly bright. I don't know why they pick that frequency for the high end.

  • @groovydjs

The software is so accurate that it even has the same annoying "marshall hiss" lol.

But luckily, it includes Oranges,a Hiwatt, and a peavey 5150, which are weapons of choice, for the gainy stuff. They have a lot more low end punch

Still which I could have the real amps, but I have neither the money, nor neighbours that are tolerant enough:p

  • @Guitarvirtuoso666 Very nice. It sounds like cool software and you are so very correct about the hiss. They are just stupidly noisy amps. The big boys are even a LOT WORSE. I used to have Orange amps when I was a teenager back in the 70's. Those, Sunn, Marshall, Fender, Hiwatt, Earth, Acoustic all kinds of junk. It was AMAZING how many people dumped every single bit of that stuff as soon as Peavey came out. There was about 10 years when pretty much every amp on every stage was Peavey. lol

  • Put a strat band-aid on that piece of garbage!

  • @frwyguy LOL, I actually have a video on here of me playing a Strat through it at a low volume and it sounds like a high quality amp from Wal-Mart instead of this nasty thing. lol

  • les pauls always sound like shit anyways lol. especially through a solid state amp its hard to get a good tone unless your running yours through an equalizer or Compressor.

im not hating on them i just dont find them interesting. There really heavy and they sound fat.

but you know, theres those who like different things then others lol

  • @bbshooter1221 I'm with you too my friend. I'm not a Les Paul fan at all. After getting asked to show this amp, I knew all of the 12 year olds would be all up in my ass if there wasn't a Les Paul plugged into it and they would just toss all kinds of Slash crap at me....so, I figured I would just put that whole mess to rest and throw the nasty Les Paul through the nasty Marshall and hopefully shut them all up. lol

  • True so true at least you got it for a pretty good price

  • @cutthecan Exactly. That's why I picked it up. If I know I can at least double my money right away, I'll go ahead and buy anything. lol
