Hello there! Really nice work!

Can I ask you something? How did you learn to play this epirotic way of playing the violin? By listening or did anyone teach you? I don't suppose there are notes for this style..? I also play the violin and I've got family in Epirus, they would be too glad if I surprised them the next summer by playing like this.

In the text above you can read that I'm interessted in the style of playing, which a viola player can perfectly share with a vioin player. It's all on-the-spot improvisation. So, there is no music. It is based on a pentatonic scale. C - Eb - F - G - Bb - C

You hold the bow 1/8 above the bottom tip, just like Dimitris! Now that must be a technique for tone. He insists that is just how he holds it, but I think that he was taught to hold and play in a certain way, in keeping with Epirotika style . Is that correct?

I was classically trained, and most of the time, I hold the bow like a classical player. I wouldn't say that it is necessary to hold the bow differently for Epirotika, but certain sounds are easier to produce when holding the bow a little higher up.
