  • I thank God every day that George Lucas never made a Star Trek film!

  • This was pretty good. But for all those nerds who take this way too seriously, please, relax, go pick your pimples, and watch some Lexx.

  • I like the idea, though it would have flowed better if you had chosen just one movie to work from. *cough*Revenge of the Sith*cough*

  • Now, THAT'S a trailer!!! Well Done.

  • Take Mr. Spock and fit him into your ass... but leave the Grandest Saga alone as it has to be.

  • Freakin' awesome. The "Lucasfilm Limited" was a nice touch.

  • very well done! by the way..... most Trek fans and Star Wars fans take things way to seriously..... lighten up a little people! this is awesome! it's cool how you were able to make so many parallels between the two. thanks for sharing this with us :)

for the record.... I love Star Trek... have been to many cons and even paid extra for the "meet and greets" I really like Star Wars too..... but there is nothing wrong with having a little fun with them :)

  • is this a fucking joke?

  • why does everyone hate Jar Jar! ok, ive been a fan of Star Wars way before the prequals, and when the first episode of star wars came out, Jar Jar was my favorite charector as a child!

  • @dairyduck

I think the reason is because in a way some people see Jar Jar as being racist. Now I am not sure of that in and of itself, but I do find him annoying.

  • @smcneal057 racist? please, some people need to grow up, assuming that every slightest charector in a movie is racist based on the far reaches of stereotyping, all it is is a bunch of fucking attention whores who want people to see taht "hey, im this race, look at me, i get to say this thing is wrong because it resembles me, hee hee hee im on fucking camera" i wish the world was so much more secure about themselves /=

  • @dairyduck

I am the same way you are without the swearing, but the truth is that is the way some people view it. I just find Jar Jar Binks to be an annoying and unnecessary character. Even as comic relief Jar Jar was not the right one for it. R2-D2 and C3PO are enough for comic relief.

  • Face it people, Star Trek 2009 is better than the SW prequels. And Return of the Jedi.

  • Very nice!

  • Star wars is better than star trek

  • what is the name of the tune in this trailer ? I like it a lot.

  • good vid.

  • lol. Luke "I like this ship"

  • Awsomse

  • I've been wanting to do an edit cutting seamlessly between the prequels and OT. Good work.

  • Nice choice of clips for the audio.

  • Jar Jar Binks: "The wait is over". LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!

  • you guys that do this stuff are something else. this is the kind of creative thinking that makes great TV commercials. gotta love youtubes.

  • nice one :D

  • Wow! The audio of the trailer really fits in with the selection of clips! 5/5

  • That Jar-Jar at the end rulez :-D :-D :-D :-D

I expected Emperor or something like that, but Jar-Jar? ROFL!

  • I love how Star Wars fans think it invented the hero's journey narrative.

  • brilliant trailer

  • Um.....okay........

  • Well you guys do realize that JJ Abrams is a Star Wars fan, right? He was even quoted as saying he never thought he'd ever do a Star Trek movie. Hell, even the new Enterprise looks like a Star Wars version of itself. I have to admit that the new ship has grown on me despite the different, Star Wars-style look... this coming from a 15-year fan .

But I do like the much more intense vibe of the new flick. With exceptions like First Contact, high intensity has always been lacking in Star Trek.

  • hmm, I wasn't a big fan of the new design, I think Gabe Koerner had the right idea. Stick with the old design, but add tons of new detail to make it look like a real ship. I just couldn't get past the funny looking nacelles the new design had...

  • This design is taking the longest time growing on me since enterprise-D. It's being ignored by my other enterprise models.

  • What about Wrath of Kahn?

  • STILL the best, despite the new films effort.

  • True.

  • sir, you are a consumate artist. Please do more trailers.

  • IGN Movies listed off many reasons why the Star Wars saga and the recent Star Trek re-imagining are very much alike. And I thought I was just going crazy. When I watched it, I felt a sense of watching star wars.

  • LOL Jar Jar at the end was hilarious!!!

  • Great work. Love Jar Jar voiced by Eric Bana.

  • if only the voice dubbing worked better...maybe you should have had Boba Fett say "I will not allow you to lecture me"

  • I had seen other versions with the sound of the star trek 2009 trailer. But finally a version of Star Wars with sounds from Star Trek 2009 trailer! Congratulations! Excellent work!

  • NICE!!!!

  • OH, if only Jar Jar had spoken like THAT-maybe he might have been a cool character.

  • lol

  • punch it

  • That was awsome!!! Now someone make a Star Trek trailer with the sounds of the Star Wars trailer. Then let me know!!!

  • so do you alexisnomad1, but I would never put it in print...

  • oh snap! Epic Pwnage

  • you suck sopmylo

  • That was awsome, both of my favorite movies coming together as one. Great job!

  • lol....this is awesome.....

  • LOL... so true.

  • Needs more lens flare

  • NO!! YOU DESTROY THE BEST VILLIAN EVER (Nero) BY MAKING HIM JAR-JAR!!!!

    >(

Nero will now destroy your planet with red matter. ^^

  • Look on the bright side; Jar Jar gets destroyed at the end. XD

  • Star Wars > Star Trek

  • one of the differences?? in the first image of the original trailer (not this shit) you can see a man in his motorcycle, in this shit you see a gay looking for his mom, crying in all the story like a girl

  • LOL,

are you kidding?? They're both sissies. You can almost smell the hair gel.

  • So you wouldn't cry for you're mom if she was taken??? Yeah, you fucking prick I would love to see your come back on this.

  • jar jar binks as nero? Bad idea, everything else was good though

  • I beg to differ. JarJar is Star Wars most evil character.

  • If not evil than most certainly the most scary. But then again it was his fault that the clone wars happend. And I say again that you should have made Obi-Wan Say I like this ship it's exiting.

  • haha lol

  • @Sopmylo And the most terrifying

  • star trek and star wars don't mix!!! star trek beats star wars!!!

  • Alright, Jar Jars a Romulian... But where the hell are the Ewoks!

  • very gay, like Star Wars

  • Well if you dont like star wars dont click on a video that has 'Star Wars' in the title. Other people DO like star wars so shut your fucking pie hole you useless hate filled dick sucking boy lover.

  • Comment removed

  • sorry, this is a video that has STAR TREK in the title, now, how many videos with the title Star Trek where you can see bullshit about Star Wars do you know, fucking idiot??

it happends becase you are really idiots guys

  • Cleverly done. However you 4get, star wars had scenes that would look good in trailers, but the recent star wars (most scenes from them used for this) wer just about the big special fx and impressive views. We musnt 4get they were in fact plotless, dull, had bad acting and raped my childhood in front of my eyes. The new trek is deep, got a great plot, brilliant actors. The film was completley different to wot the trailer made me expect. Good video, but JJ learned from Lucas' recent mistakes

  • You call Sam Jackson a bad actor????????????????????? And sorry I don't think that the new Star Trek was that deep, I was disappointed that thy went for the same shit with special effects than Star Wars. I'm not a fan of either, but I think Star Wars itself is already much deeper than Star Trek just because of the whole view of politics, religion, history and race. In the concept of Star Trek I only see a bunch of people flying around fighting some aliens or some guy to save the universe....

  • Like you said, you've never seen Star Trek... Star Trek was talking about politics, religion, history, and race in it's original run during the '60s. Do some research before you start talking shit.

  • ESCOOZ ME WTF

THIS R NOT STAR TREK =S

  • this is going to piss of the trekys

  • HAHAHA, 1:09

  • This is insulting, b/c this Star Trek movie, while being action packed, is not comparable to Star Wars.

  • You're right, the critics like Star Trek.

  • I mean, it's more realistic within the limits of scifi, and it has action, what more could you ask for?

  • damn SW fans!

  • yea, I find this video insulting, ST and SW should never be merged, plus Star Trek is way better, it has surpassed the record for iMax profit, with $8.6 million.

  • Films should only be shown in IMAX if they were filmed on IMAX cameras. Otherwise, the picture is simply bloated and too much to take in at once. Furthermore, if you're implying that ST is superior to SW simply because of its' IMAX intake, then that's an absurd argument.

  • Star Trek is superior, in terms of realism, and practicality, Star Wars just made more money.

  • Richard Ho, writing for The Harvard Crimson, states that the heroes of Star Wars such as Han Solo and Luke Skywalker have a swashbuckling style while the protagonists of Star Trek such as Captain Picard and Mr. Spock resolve their challenges with science and intellect.

  • Star Wars is set in the far past as stated in the opening text that it was simply "long time ago" and deals with more fantasy elements than science fiction, stating that the tone is more mythology based. Star Trek is set in the 23rd Century in the same galaxy where Earth is, where Star Wars is set in "a galaxy far, far away" and has no known connection with Earth.

  • I didn't really need background as far as the films were concerned, nor with their differences in content. My opinion is that in terms of content, Star Wars is superior, and has been cinematically executed to a superior degree.

  • yea, and cheaply made, it's amazing that Star Trek's visual effects for most of the movies, and the TV series, was George's company, yet the quality was always better, Star Wars always had a lower budget, also, Star Wars is more of romance story, Star Trek is more of a scientific and logical approach.

  • Where are you getting this information from? First off, Industrial Light and Magic wasn't established until 1977, 11 years after Star Trek began, so ST's visual effects weren't done in coordination with George Lucas, who was still in college at the time. Secondly, Star Wars' budget has always been higher, for the exception of the first film, which was done for $11 million. The reason the budget may not seem so high is because Lucas financed many of the films himself.

  • IMDB or Box Office Mojo. With the exception of The Original Series, and Enterprise, TNG, DS9, and Voyager and all the movies, except The Motion Picture in 1979 had visual effects done by ILM. Star Wars highest budget was $115 million for Eps. 1, 2, and 3. Eps. 4, 5, and 6 never was over $40 million. Star Trek's highest budget was for Star Trek XI, of $150 million, the lowest was on Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan which had a budget of $12 million dollars.

  • I will recognize the fact that J.J. Abrams' Trek was a good film and there was much to admire about it, but Star Wars as a film and as a concept is much more engaging and enjoyable. Keep in mind that Abrams' inspiration for the new Trek was the original Star Wars. He was never a Trek fan prior to making the film.

  • Well, regardless, it still has that Trek appeal, and Star Wars never appealed to me, I like the exploration of space, not fighting with every other species I come across, using "The Force" a Magician-like thing, that is the most improbable aspect in the Wars Universe, plus the ships are far to big, Star Trek is more practical all through, from ship design to size, weapons, etc. More has been "inspired" from ST than SW, I don't see any SW monuments anywhere, or the first NASA orbiter, Enterprise.

  • Take into account that basically any science fiction film (or any film with visual effects) since the inception of Star Wars would not be possible. Films like Alien, Titanic, The Lord of the Rings, Independence Day, and many more are indebted to it, and their directors will tell you so. None of them mentioned Star Trek. Star Wars isn't about fighting every other species you come across either. I'm guessing you haven't seen SW, and even if you have, you're missing the point.

  • lol, Star Trek has used ILM as a visual effects company, look it up, on the Bonus Disc's, they have Behind the Scenes stuff, and more, at ILM.

I have seen Star Wars, but mostly just to see the visual effects, not the story, b/c it doesn't interest me, I like Star Trek b/c it's about exploring space, and the unknown's of humanity, etc, and it's science oriented, Star Wars, is just an action movie, not that Star Trek isn't, Star Trek has just been more for a realistic and scientific standpoint.

  • I'm not doubting that ILM did the visuals for Star Trek. If you only look at Star Wars skin deep, then you're only going to get an action movie. The saga's core is about the rise, fall, and redemption of one man. It displays connections to religion and mythological archetypes from the past, in addition to paralleling contemporary events and politics. If you watch the films for the action, then you wont get anything out of it. I could say the same about Star Trek.

  • Well, you see Star Trek doesn't revolve around one man/woman, it revolves around 3 generations, 22nd, 23rd, and 24th centuries, depending on what series or movie you watch, and the core of ST is the exploration of space, and discovery, among other things. Star Trek has displayed equality, freedom from oppression, and more, almost every episode in Star Trek, relates to something that was currently happening at the time, only in the Star Trek universe, and warping the event to fit Star Trek.

  • GEEKFIGHT

  • This is ChrisVistaAssn, on my first channel.

  • oh im not a young kid im in my 30's. I wasnt old enough for the original series. so star trek v was a good movie HAHAHAHAH. Its one of the worst movies ever. You just discredited yourself as a trek fan. I havent seena bad review yet. There have been over 50 reviews all positive, but apparently they dont know what trek is about ever. Im not a trekkie im a trek fan. BIG difference. I dont go crying when everything isnt totally cannon. Dont go see it its your loss. Unlike you im open minded.

  • I am very open minded, and thats why star trek should show the positive and bright version of the future, deal with social issues, inspire new generation to innovate, give hope and a vision that humanity can and will survive and solve all the problems that it faces... not make a stupid star wars like movie ... and star trek five was not so good, but it had potential if it was handled a little differently. Shatner the director wanted to do a directers cut edition... to fix that mess.

  • gotta love jaja binks at the ending saying "the wait is over"

  • I hate the new movie also... made by people who have no frikin idea what star trek is all about

  • thats why one of the writers are die hard fan and they also had two consultants who are star trek fanatics. How can you hate a movie that you havent even seen and the only thing you have seen are trailers which would focus on action to get people interested.

  • I can understand if a movie is stupid from the trailer.. thank you..

    and this one is crap

  • umm no you cant. Most of the action sequences in the trailer is within the first 10 minutes of the movie. And for the record there have only been 3 good star trek movies ever made. I love this revisionist history. Ive heard the actors are very good in the roles but hey since you think the trailer is stupid then by all means dont see it. Star trek hasnt been good since tng. ds9 was good in the beginning but tailed off. Im not saying u are but people complain about action but thats what st2 was

  • Perhaps you cant, but I can. There have been 6 good star trek movies, and all of them were with the original cast.

DS9 was stupid, boldly staying put in one place. I like TOS, and the movies with the original cast.. everything else was mediocre. You are probably a young kid, that calls himself e trekker.. well Im a trekie and I know what star trek should be. AND ITS NOT THIS!

  • and you do.. i think JJ Abrams has done a magnificent job... It'll be awesome along with ILM backing up on the Visual Effects.. If they don't know then please explain to me... It's the story of how kirk and everyone got together..

  • AWESOME !!!

  • You should have put obi wan in the part where scotty was speaking. That would have been a little more authentic to the voice. Heck even yoda would have been more better than luke.

  • jar jar best ending

  • Haha, you seem to hate this new film just as much as I do: I made one of these as well. >_>

Love your Kirk and Crew reaction video. Every new scene I see of this film that people gawk over makes me want to vomit. I hope I can at least get my $10 worth.

  • I don't hate the film yet as I haven't seen it, but I am annoyed by the public pronouncements by the current film makers and their distain for certain aspects of Trek that have make it different from other scifi and helped it survive for over 40 years.

It does seem like the new film is make by those who really don't like TOS, and feel it needs a "reboot'

  • Well hate is a strong word before I've seen the whole thing, but I can't say I'm optimistic about it.

  • Its interesting to hear you talk about the debate going on with Star Trek right now. I was having this same conversation with someone the other day, only it was over the Bond franchise. There is talk that that franchise is straying from what made it special.

As for this movie, we will see on May 8th, but I have faith they wont abandon 40 years of tradition completely.

  • Complaining like a bitch, but still willing to spend that 10 you snuck out of your mom's Bingo jar on a movie you hate......Fascinating.

  • Yeah, the rest of your comments are pretty stupid too.

  • Now is that Webster's "stupid", or, "your mom thinking a 'Klingon' was what she scraped out of her thong and decided to raise as her son" stupid?

Because that decision was pretty stupid.

  • No, more like the 'stupid' you get when you have to resort to 'your mom' jokes online.

  • Or 'having to pay her twice the going rate for a prostitute 'cause I felt sorry for her' stupid.

It's NOT a joke--- I was going to buy an ounce of blow with that cash.

  • Dude, that is so awesome, the audio is the only thing I see that might need some finalization.

  • Haha! Jar Jar as Narada(I can't recall: is that supposed to be the bad guy or his starship?)!

  • Ship. Nero is the villain.

  • that was surprisingly way superly good.

  • 0:34 so true...

  • 1:09

lol, that's the best part of the bid. xD It is indeed impressive; the Force is strong with you. ^^

  • great idea and execution

  • well done!

  • The sad thing (or good thing, depending on your viewpoint) is how perfectly this fits (besides Jar-Jar as the villain lol).

  • JAR JAR!!! ROFL!!!

  • Impressive, Most Impressive!!!

  • I wanted to say that! Dam! Someone always beats me to it!

Well done, well done.... I still think Star Wars and Star Trek is apples and oranges though.

    Still, well done...

  • JAR JAR ROFLCOPTER, best moment ever!!

  • Jar Jar LOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLL

  • You made it seem like those monologues were written especially for Star Wars. Well done.

  • lmao. I loled at the last part. haha. AMAZING job. I love all your vids like this. Thanks for posting.

  • seemed to fit well, 5 stars

  • AWSOME! ^_^

  • You should've made Obi-Wan Scotty (Scottish makes sense lol) :), but it was still great!

    5 stars, easy. :)

  • Bravo ! ^^

  • Not bad. Not bad at all.

  • I actually think this is really well done. I like how you made the original films meld really well with the prequels.

  • lololol

  • You can't choose better villan then Jar Jar. :D

  • lolol

  • roflmao at the jar jar binks part, omg... my sides...

  • lolol

  • the bit with jar-jar was funny.
