not impressed with mine. It flexes way to much , WAY to much. the bar should have been solid and not push together like they have it. im going to try and weld mine and add supports to remove the flex. it would be nice other wise
bought one its shit if your heavy and stresses the wall and door. get a cheap one that fits in the door frame and screws out to widen and fit in. much more secure and cheaper
The pressure will be on the sides of the plastic bar, anyway, since the handles are screwed on the sides (If the pressure was on the center of the plastic, then that'd be a different story). Plus, add to that the strength of your door frame. The box of the equipment says it can handle up to 300lbs.
Do you have to use the hooks above the door to catch the bar? Because if so it sort of defeats the purpose of having one you can quickly move to a different area or take with you.
i noticed your door frame looked thicker than mine, mine sticks out maybe a half inch out of the wall. yours seemed to be far thicker/more heavy duty then mine. would i need to change the frame of my door as for this to work or does it work on any door frame thickness
im going to start the p90x work out and I need a good pull up bar. Problem is im 290lbs and i need to know if the kind of bar that goes into a door like the p90x one does will hold my weight?
@Rjester08 Hi, You can go directly to my site at coachbillcowanDOTcom and click on the gear tab to get this bar. Please let me know how it works out for you. I LOVE IT!
Do you think it would be ok if the side of the door that the bar would rest against has no trim? There's trim on one side, but not the other, but the way the actual opening and closing door sits it could only rest on the top of the side with no trim.
@BoxOfAdam no problem at all. It only uses one side anyway. You can get the bar at coachbillcowanDOTcom and click on the gear tab. Please tell me how it works out for you!
Hi, Usually right above the door in that area there is already a stud, so it should be no problem securing those brackets to it without worry. Hope that helps and thanks for dropping by. Please visit my Blog for some great topics with a little humor
hi. what are those 2 white things above the door? i can hang mine. its only 1/4 inche thick at the door. any suggestions?

when you screwd those two metal brackets in, did you have to find the stud first? or just got right into the wall?
