Der 850CSi hätte 381PS.

@wiegetzm.: BMW's Bezeichnung ist da irreführend. Ältere Modell sind nur "i", neuere "Ci". Der CSI ist ein Sportmodell (seperates Modell mit einigen Unterschieden. C steht für Coupé und S für Sport (i=injection). Aber alle sind Ci weil ja Coupé. Aber BMW wollte eine S-Klasse-Konkurrenz damals, die ja ein Viersitzer ist. Nur ist es sportlicher geworden. Coupé-Dach. Erst später hat BMW gemerkt dass sie ja ein Coupe gebaut haben und die Bezeichnung angepasst, lol. (Ci= neue Motoren)

Ich kann mir nicht vorstellen, dass er noch hätte nennenswert davon fahren können bei 240-250 km/h. Denn bis 280 könnte ich dran kleben und vmax kenne ich noch gar nicht so genau. Das dürfte auf viele 300PS Wagen zutreffen. Wobei eben die meisten (neueren Datums) bei 300PS sicher leichter sind und eben mit mindestens einem oder heutzutage mindestens zwei Gängen mehr den schnellen Sprint hinlegen. Und die Dickschiffe mit V8 oder V10 heutzutage einfach mehr als 300PS haben und daher flotter sind.

Ein alter eckiger Audi 80 (wohl Audi 90) hat mich bei (Vollgas) 220-230km/h rechts überholt... Wie konnte die nicht grade windschlüpfrige Kiste das schaffen? Nun, ich musste in gut 1000m die Abfahrt auf eine andere AB nehmen und man kann sich denken, dass kurz davor auch etwas Verkehr ist, sodass Überholen oder dran bleiben wenig Sinn macht aber dieses Erfolgserlebnins mit einem der größten straßenzugelassenen Motoren in so einem Audi 90 (wie ich meine) musst er wohl unbedingt mitnehmen.

I saw a Jaguar XJR (XJR-S), V12, 330hp, automatic, only 3 gears! vmax is 254km/h. So at this time in the late 1980's normal cars only had three gears with auto. Maybe that is the reason for the four gear box. five, six and seven is for newer models. And cars with less hp but still good acceleration and todays emission efficiency. (those cars are in best torque and hp for a longer period of time during acceleration).

Aber wie hier schon irgendwo stehen müsste, hat er wohl die Chips drin, Vmax-Aufhebung und vermutlich die geänderte Charakteristik für die Automatik und die 10% mehr PS und Drehmoment. Denn er regelt auch bei 280 km/h nicht ab. Aber das fahr ich normal auch nicht, das dies nur ein Sommerfahrzeug für gelegentliche Treffen und Ausfahrten ist.

Es gibt sicher schnellere Sprinter als den 850i, aber wer dieses Auto Ampelrennen und Dauervollgas-Orgien benutzt, hat den Wagen sowieso nicht verstanden (kein Vorwurf an den Besitzer). Das ist ein stilvoller GT reinsten Wassers, ein souveräner Cruiser zum Kilometerfressen, ein extrem kultivierter Gleiter. Wer heizen will, soll sich einen M3 zulegen und der 530d ist eher eine Kutsche für eilige Vertreter. Vielleicht schneller, aber stilistisch in einer anderen Liga...

@8888Nightmare8888 Hmm, es gibt da noch die US-Version mit kürzerer Übersetzung. Rein nach Drehzahl gehen der europ. 850i Schalter und Automatik über 300 bevor sie an den Begrenzer kommen. Aber werden sie nicht schaffen. Daher liegt Topspeed eher bei maximaler PS und nicht zu weit weg vom max. Drehmoment. Der Schalter hat 6 Gänge und beschleunigt daher schneller. Mein anderes Video zeigt das Kombi bei 276 km/h.

@RyanHefftis good found!! Looks like I started with 44 litres and ended with 42,5. And it is not coused by G-force: Accellerating like this needs ~50l/100km or more. I guess average speed for the one minute video of 140km/h. In one minute, driven distance is 2,33km. So it in deed needs more than one litre of gasoline.

@realcode33 Stimmt schon mit den "nur" 300PS. Aus heutiger Sicht. Sehe ich genau so. Aber 1987 wo der Motor rauskam, war das wohl mal toll. Da hatte der halbe Motor im 325i 170PS. Und 7 Sekunden auf 100 (110 Tacho) bei 1,8 Tonnen leer sind doch nicht so schlecht bzw. richtig gut bei einem ersten gang, der bis 90 geht.

Es stimmt, was manch Reporter sagt oder sagte. Man bekommt keinen Ruck in den Rücken aber er schiebt konstant was weg.

Klassische Saugmotoren haben immer um 100Nm Drehmoment pro Liter Hubram. Leider aber nur bei einer bestimmten Drehzahl.

Will man bequem fahren-> max. Drehmoment auf niedrige Drehzahl legen

Fuel consumption probably around 70-80 per 100KM when accelerating like this. It sucks a bit that BMW made this one a 2 tonner like the 7 series, would be much more fun with the V12 if the car did weigh some 400kg less. This car is not a sports car and the ride is as comfortable as in a limousine. Other than high speed cruise, no joy in driving it.

@powwerranger Oh, no. It was windy and I think a bit uphill. So from 200 and up the accelleration normally is better. The limitation to 250 km/h should lead to a speedo value of 260 I guess. But my car must have the no speed limit chip installed and goes 280 km/h ! on flat roads normally.

@malaka1212 looks abnormal but is caused by the torque converter and is quite normal. I didn't knew before but I know now. It can be worse or more like that (on other cars)... Note that the car is still accelerating and not slowing down like the rev suggests.

But all in all my video (the car) is slow from 220 up. Normally I can see 280 on the speedo...

850i is not able reach more than 280km/h, but it's still impressive, because this car weights about 2000 kg with driver. Very low Cd actually helps a lot.

850Ci is able reach 300 according to tacho, and 850CSi able reach 305-310...

They just watch how the needles move on youtube videos and then make conclusions. This car has a very smooth and linear acceleration, not aggresive at all, but it pushes you into the seat very hard. It takes just over 6 seconds 0-100 kmh. Thats fast even in today standards.

Its not the top engine. Later the facelift came with new automatic gearbox and 326hp . The 850csi has 380hp and there is an alpina and hartge to. alpina has ??? hp but its much, hartges hp is more then 400 so there are many faster engines then the regular 850ci . 850ci is just most sold model. Btw look at porches and ferraris of the nineties. They are not much faster en dont have the luxury of the 8 series so this is actualy a very great car. Learn ya grammar dude ^^

I love how that v12 never seems to run out of juice my stock 03 acura tls use to run out of juice and struggle after maybe 170-180ish now i put about 2600 worth of mods in the engine and it runs out of juice at around 220-230ish lol this car keeps powering on like nothing is stoping it till 250 km/h lol the difference between a bmw v12 and a jap v6 lol
