  • Thanks for accepting my vid response, Sean. :)

  • Comment removed

  • I have actually not watched much of this show, becaus it aired on a different channel than the disney stuff (here in germany). And I was a Disney guy ^^ But I really enjoyed your review. love your videos. :D

  • I Got Mine Today, And Good News Guys The Entire Set Is Region Free. So Anyone In Any Country Can Play Them Back.

  • Hey Sean,

How knowledgeable are you with lines from Extreme Ghostbusters?

I'm looking for an episode of Extreme Ghostbusters and all I know is they capture a monster and then the character Eduardo says "He must not like Canned Food" or something like that.

Would you know which episode I'm talking about?

    Thanks,

    David

  • o n if you like comics they have 3, 4 issue comics of ghostbusters they are ghostbusters legion, the other side and displaced aggression and 2 standalone ones ghostbusters past, present and future and tainted love plus the real ghostbusters comics 4 books of several issues in each and they just released volume 2 of the complete collection in feb

  • best buy has it cheaper than time life but can order it online n they ship overseas esp military bases and what volume is the halloween episodes on i cant wait to get my own box set i have volume 1

  • Is the Ghostbusters Halloween special in the set (the one that aired in primetime and had the Ghostbusters singing)?

  • Yes, both versions of the Halloween special are included.

  • @Zaranyzerak Both?

  • @redmonkey35L Yes. There was a half hour cut and an hour long cut. Both are included.

  • @Zaranyzerak what got cut out

  • @Zaranyzerak yes, this is the lower right:D

  • i have the ghostbusters 1 & 2 the movies

  • JMS also wrote for Amazing Spider-Man.; the infamous (vol. 2) #36, the 9/11 issue as well as Aunt May learning of Peter being Spidey. I loved this indepth review of the Ghostbusters. can't wait to buy my own boxset. I'm disappointed you didn't mention the Extreme Ghostbusters show. Don't know you thoughts of it. I liked it, despite it not being as good as the original. At least it was a follow up to the series and not a remake.

  • Loved Extreme Ghostbusters! I think it unfairly gets a bad rap from fans. I actually have the whole series on tape, awaiting a VHS release. but this was really just meant to be about the Real Ghostbusters specifically, so I kept the focus on that.

  • @Zaranyzerak which is better?.the ghostbusters shows or the movies? and hav u checked out the new ghostbusters game?

  • I just got my Ghostbusters collection in the mail. You're right and it isn't as big as it looks in your video. I'm like so geeking out. This is one of four shows that I think are the best from the 80's. The other three are TMNT, GI joe and He-Man. I can't say anything about Transformers since I never watched that show growing up, but I loved the first live action movie.

  • is season 2 of the real ghostbusters on dvd? can't find it anywhere wb

  • If you're talking about the Region 1 releases, the Complete Series set was just made available in retail outlets as of September 29, 2009. Volume 1 from the set was released March 31, 2009. Volume 2 hasn't been announced for general release yet.

Season 2 was actually 78 episodes - 13 weekly on ABC, and 65 daily in syndication. That season is covered by several volumes in the Complete Series Set.

In Region 2, Series 1 was released June 15, 2009. Series 2 and beyond haven't been announced yet.

  • that was most helpful, thankyou for your time :-]

  • i want to know ! is the boogalo's song complete? cause the song was omitted in the sindicated version of the series.

i just remember the song was like 2 minutes long and he's singing about destroing the wolrd....

  • David's name rolls of the tongue hehe

  • LOL! :D

  • lol you had a bit of trouble with davids screen name didnt you :D

the numbers at the end are 315842. thats actually his date of birth followed by a number 2 lol. and yeah davids a really great guy who i'm in love with ^_^

  • Thanks Mel, and don't worry I did tell him the meaning of my screename etc.

  • oh, ok. sorry i didnt know ^_^

  • It's OK, you meant well. ^_^

  • For me, JMS has always been "that Spider-Man guy" as he wrote a very long run on Amazing Spider-Man. That was pretty much the first time I remember seeing his name and it was only later that I saw he wrote Real Ghostbusters and Babylon 5. Actually, that's why I originally watched Babylon 5, was because he was involved with it. He's still one of my favourite writers.

  • can i ask something? just how ,in slimers proton pack busted ,and trapped butt cheaks, did you know there was going to be a ebay advertisement at the side of your video !,you mentioned e bay ,pointed right ,and there it was !,i might have to call the ghostbusters and get you checked out becouse that was spooky XD

  • What can I say, I'm magical. :D

  • yes, ppl I am one of those UK viewers who got it from ebay after seeing about 1 minute of this review. lol

    Thank you again Zar!

  • My pleasure! always happy to encourage folks to lighten their pocketbooks a bit. Wouldn't want you to hurt yourself carrying around all that extra money, after all. :)

  • Damn it i told you not to tell him! he'll be twice as insufferable now!

  • More on NTSC playback...

In the 80's VHS players in UK could only playback PAL signal but by the 90's it was becoming more common for British people to holiday in America. Whilst on holiday they would buy American programs on VHS as they were cheaper out there not realising that they wouln't work back home. For the manufacturers it became a useful selling point that their VCR could convert NTSC to PAL making it a universal feature fairly quickly.

  • Ah, okay! I did wonder why those players became more common over there than they did here... "World Standard" VCRs were available here, but it was considered a premium feature and they tended to be quite expensive. Alas, I never got my hands on one.

  • Indeed, the demand for VCR that could play back PAL video wouldn't of been as great. For Americans holidaying in Britain the VHS for sale would of been more expensive then at home and at the time what domestic content that was available in the UK wouldn't of been much interest to the US market.

  • Talking about JMS there are some small Jayce and B5 cross overs if you watch carefully. For example Quantium 40 the mineral used for Jump Gate construction in the B5 universe is mentioned in Jayce and the wording of the acceptance into the Grey council is similar to the league of light.

  • Babylon 5 is also mentioned in episode 4 of Captain Power - "Last Stand." Though the B5 in THAT universe sounds like it was some kind of genetic engineering place that was breeding super-soldiers, rather than mankinds last, best hope for peace...hehehe I guess JMS like to self-reference his other works from time to time, little easter eggs for us fans to pick up on.

  • I know of captain power but I don't think I have ever watched it...one of those series that didn't make it to our side of the pond. The mighty JMS does get around, I did write a very good book about how to write a TV series...wish I had purchased it so many years back. As for NTSC playback in Europe I think you have given me an idea for a video...a chance to put my audio visual hat on! Our TV's can't play NTSC but VHS/DVD players can usually convert n NTSC signal to PAL.

  • Despite the horribly cheesy name, Captain Power actually had quite a solid and engaging story arc that ran the length of the series. It was also quite dark in tone, being set in a post-apocalyptic world that had been taken over by sentient machines, with only a few pockets of humans left to fight back. Great stuff, and in interviews with JMS it sounds like it was going to keep getting better (and darker) if the show continued. But alas, another 1 season wonder that ends on a major cliffhanger.

  • What is your next video? TDK? Watchmen?

  • Only one way to find out...hit that little orange Subscribe button (if you haven't already) and you'll know the second it comes out! ;)

  • ZARANYZERAK, are there any education-related obscure cartoons you want to see on DVD (For some reason I want to see a series set of Magic School Bus, seen that)?

  • Magic School Bus would be a good one. I'm not as well-versed on the educational stuff. Hmm....I know there's a TON of people who want Captain Planet on DVD (surprised it ISN'T out yet, actually, given all the insanity over being good to the environment lately, seems like it would be a logical marketnig opportunity/topical tie-in)

  • It looks like someone was stabbed to death in both of those chairs.

  • LOL! I shuld really do a closeup so people can actually see WHAT that pattern is. Although, I am quite enjoying seeing what people THINK it looks like...hehehe

  • Killing birds with stones is cool.

  • JMS should do a script for the third film....if they ever decide to greenlight it.

    Anyway damned good reviews. :-D

  • I NEED the ghostbusters collection

  • Yes you do. :D

  • You are so skilled on your in-depth reviews! Great Job! I hope to be that fluid on camera one day. 5/5.

  • Bummer. I was hoping you'd address my comment about the two different Ghostbusters cartoons that aired in the 80's. Oh well.

  • Oh I shall - when I get the other one. If I put everything about that one in THIS one, I'd have next to nothing to talk about when I get THAT one! :)

  • Nice vid dude! But, when are you going to do the dead space walkthroughs again? I miss them!

  • Oh don't worry, Dead Space hasn't been forgotten (I noticed you marathoned through my entire series of those in one sitting! I'd say that means you like 'em...hehehe) We'll be doing the next batch of episodes covering Chapter 8 (and hopefully 9) shortly.

  • Thanks! But, how would you know that I marathoned through your videos in one sitting? BTW, I'm currently on chapter 10 and it freaks me out! The hunter thing is free again and the only way I can kill it is by luring it into a test engine and firing it up to incinerate him.

  • By the frequency of your comments...hehehe I may not respond to every comment, but I read 'em all! I was doing a lot of stuff online that day, and every time I checked on the comments there were a few more on the Dead Space vids. So it seemed pretty obvious you were having a marathon of 'em. ;)

And yes, Chapter 10 is a bitch. I got DAMN lucky the first time I played that level and didn't have too much trouble. We'll see how well my luck holds when we video that one...

  • WOW! I'm amased that I was given a shout out by you. Thanks very much, I'm quite honored. You almost got my screename right, you just put the 8 and 4 the wrong way round. My screenname is actually my name and birthday 31st of May (5th) 1984. The 2 indicates that this is my second YouTube account. I honestily wish I can do something to payyou back, perhaps when I can, I'll take photos of the British UK video releases, so that you'll know what they look like perhaps. Thanks again. ^_^

  • From what I can gather, I assume that the new UK RGB 2 disk set may be the first 13 episodes produced for ABC, though this is an asumption. Also I admit I do have quite a bit of knowledge about various cartoons, but I admit I don't know about every show. :) I will say this though, I happen to know a person who worked on the Bravestarr BCI sets, and no it's not James Eatock I'm talking about. (though I do know him too). ^_^

  • Ah okay, so it's not the SAME Volume 1, but more like a Season set kinda thing. Still good that the show IS coming out over there in some capacity. Hopefully they'll put them all out.

Bravestarr is next on my BCI list. Loved that show. :)

  • It will be a 2 disk set, so I'm guessing it will be the first 13 episodes on that set. When you do get the Bravestarr set look on the booklet for Neil Sheldon, that's the guy I was refering to. Oh I haven't mentioned this, but Volumes 1-6 of RGB in the UK were released on video, twice. Once in 1987 with the Magic Window colour scheme and the second time in 1989, with a more generic grey and yellow background the other 4 volumes were also released that year.

  • My pleasure! What can I say, you deserve it. You always pepper the comments with useful facts and info that even I didn't know half the time. :) Thanks for the explanation about the numbers! Nice to see it actually MEANS something, whereas I suspect a lot of people with numbers in their names just pick them randomly.

  • I guess I must get thaty from some people, but yeah there is meaning to my screename. Of course it's my pleasure to help out, since you went out of your way to actually show us the US video releases and how amased I was to find out we had more releases then you did. I knew that Magic Window distributed more He-Man and She-Ra titles then us, seeing as though both shows were distributed by different companies over here.

  • Great stuff Z-Man, hope you liked my FAS debut!

  • I did indeed! The new camera looks AWESOME! It's like we're seeing a whole new Raz! :)

  • Thanks buddy I love the difference it makes too! BTW did you catch the reference in my sign off? Now if I could just get my editing right. I got a bit frustrated with vegas so I tried ulead but I couldn't find version 10 only 11 and for some reason I couldn't get it to render in 1280x720 so I guess getting used to vegas it is.

  • hey sean i was just wondering if you will ever do an in depth review of your teenage mutant ninja turtle collection?

  • Tune in again a little later today, and you shall have your answer...

  • you do that feminine bit, a little to well.

  • Hehehe...you're not the first to tell me that!

  • trying to speed up the "greetings" huh? lol

  • you rock

  • Yeah!!!
