It really pains me that such a great empire is not greated with such respect and regalier that it deserves. With China and Great Britain so renowed, we the Binis should be in their class. How did we lost our domination and became so few. I dont think it is just the war during the raigne of ovoramen, I think a lot of us lost our pride and forget were we are from as i can see from a lot of binis here in london. As for me and my house we remain binis and forever will be proud of the BINI EMPIRE.
BENIN wasn't a Kingdom in acient times, it was an empire extending from OKAH and ONITSHA in recent Anambra state, all through the DELTA and EDO regions to the recent day BENIN Republic via many of the recent day ONDO, southern part of OGUN and the whole of LAGOS states. Nevertheless, these places have been lost to the Igbos (in the east) and the Yorubas (in the west) due to inter marriages and occupations. Many thanks (rather blames) to the British colony.
