It's funny because while the 1990s one was shit and the new one was awesome there are loads of similarities. He says about it starting in Italy, well the new one starts in the Arctic then cuts to Norway. The old secret base is under a resteraunt and the new one is under an antiques shop. In both films, Red Skull is a test subject of the formula which messes up their faces and gives them Cap's powers (didnt happen in the comics).

Both were over the top, but the new one was so awesome!!!

Wow. Captain America is 70 years old and only NOW they come out with a reasonable good live-action film adaptation of him in 2011?? I've seen this direct to video movie from 1990 and yeah...I was disappointed with it and Reb Brown's Captain America TV movies from the late 70's. I can't help but wonder on why it was so hard for filmmakers to have made a good Captain America movie until now. Given Cap's bio, it's not like the production would have been complicated and expensive as Superman.

@rionalia The new captain america is a great movie! Given the source material (look at that costume xD) I imagine it was difficult, but they pulled it off surprisingly well in the new one. The cast is good, the action is fast paced and statisfying (the shield is badass now), the influences of the other Marvel movies are well placed, and the humor had me and my family laughing heartily several times. I highly reccomend it :)

@HunterJs2 I saw it and even though it was far from bad, it was just OK for me. It was too fast paced and the villain was rather dull and under-developed. Sad really, because the Red Skull is THE most obnoxious, vile, horrible, hateful and unsympathetic villains in comic book history. Even Dr. Doom and Magneto hated him in the comics and the latter even left Skull buried alive.
