When this game was originally released in America, it was titled Final Fantasy 3, because several games were NOT released in America the first time. During the re-releases, they numbered them all according to the original Japanese games, so now we have two different names for this game. FF2 did the same thing, I think it's FF4 or FF5 now... and a different game is named FF2 now.
Great game, but the ATB meter was too slow and it dragged on in combat. I though would love to see a 3D remake though, and probably will see one in a few years.
i think this game might be the greatest rpg ever. i know i was obsessed with final fantasy 7, but i was obessed with this game also. i don't know. maybe my opinion of this game is less because it came out so long ago, and i feel nostalgia which i don't like. final fantasy 7 does not make me feel that nostalgia even still to this day. but at the time when i played this game, the emotional response i had to the game might have been stronger than ff7, therefore making it a better game.
If you look at ff3 for the ds, you'll see the characters are different because even in britain that's ff6, I have it for ps1 and guess what...it's ff6
It's called "Opening Theme". Track number 1 in the FF6 OST. You might be able to find it by Googling it... or you can just get a torrent for the whole soundtrack. ^^ Hope this helped some~~
Greatest Intro hands down! There will never be another one like it. Not in this life time atleast. Gamers need to go back and rethink the way they make things. Music has a big part to play with the emotional part of the game. Thank you for posting this.
this is final fantasy IV! dont u know that final fantasy III did not sell on north-america? it only did in japan, and when SQUARE made final fantasy IV, north-america named it III because the final fantasy NES game was missing.
Yup! There were also the ps1 ports of ff2 and ff5. The anthology collections, or whatever they were called. They just weren't realeased here as ports until after the ps1 was out, which is why 3US=6. ;)
Does Final Fantasy 3 and 6 start the same?

It makes me sad that this game will never, ever be matched. I'll never again feel the epicness of playing this game the first time through...

Yea this is ff6 not 3... lol how the hell can you get them mixed up

It was FF3 in America. FF6 in Japan. That's why the remake is called FF6. Know the facts before you ask stupid questions.

And the Final Fantasy series was created in Japan, by Square. So this game is Final Fantasy VI. Not III. Know the facts before you say stupid things.

Um, it clearly says 3, watch the first five secands of the video, the "III" means 3

Corrrection, this is VI (6), not IV (4). Three games were missing on our shores, not just one.
FF1 Japan (Famicom) = FF1 US (NES)
FF2 Japan (Famicom) = Not released here at the time.
FF3 Japan (Famicom) = Not released.
FF4 Japan (Super Famicom) = FF2 (SNES)
FF5 Japan (Super Famicom) = Not released.
FF6 Japan (Super Famicom) = FF3 (This game)
