  • 12 are COMUNIST

  • @Deutochlandercz Probably all Barney Frank.

  • Dionne Bromfield must be her grand daughter

  • Jamaica meets Finland. She is absolutely adorable. With that strange voice of hers, I always hoped she'd hit it big, but unfortunately she sort of fizzled out. I wonder what she's doing now?

  • i always though a white girl sang this song........great song

  • ESTE VIDEO ES PATRIMONIO RUDE CULTURAL <3

  • little known fact stevie wonder on harmonica

  • @bazrig Great trivia question.

Hi I think the true story was that they needed a solo on the track. An Australian band was recording there at the time and they had a session vocalist who played harmonica. He is credited as 'Python Lee Jackson' but he later found a little fame under his real name .Rod Stewart,

  • when comes out "My Girl Lollipop" ?

  • i love the girl who dances in the middle.

  • yeah the grandmother of nicky minaj

  • Oh how cute! I'm trowing up a rainbow =D

  • Man! I love this! So naive and unconcerned in a lovely way. Very bad background dancers, but that means nothing to me. Look at today's bullshit, where dancing is more important than singing talent. If you are looking good and have a dancing talent, you can get away with anything and that is fucking sad.

  • they dance like thunderbird puppets!!

  • dontcha just love this feel good song? I used to bop with me mam to this when I was little . . . . . . . . . . .

  • @mrthrilladawg1 no dude, she's not that ugly

  • @mrthrilladawg1 Cuz shes black?! RACIST!!

  • @mrthrilladawg1 No, Nikki Minaj, looks like her.

  • Nice miming. Also, I dance like those backing dancers to dubstep.

  • @TheWitchWay Have you ever been to Helsinki, Finland in December? You'd be wearing a clothes, too. Lots of them, so you wouldn't freeze your ass off.

  • Meu Deus!

  • She's so... darn... CUTE!

  • @TheWitchWay Nice said XD they do need to take a Hint example Lady Gaga Phone XD

  • millie small is my cousin ]

  • i'm singing this as a solo for the preshow of a play i'm in.. :D

  • I love the spastic dancers.

  • @ 1:09 on the poster she looks like a guy an wen was this song out?

  • oh my god! i remember when the mini pops sang this too! love this song!!!

  • Some commenters here say the background dancers ain't cool. Well... You better don't tell the black people how to dance, coz that's the same as telling a bird how to fly. The dancers are great and the music is heavenly

  • Am I the only one diggin the dancers? They're improvising happlily! Or at least did at somepoint and does it again on the show.. =D

  • 1:40 The dancers in the back xD

  • Spice Girls :) lol. i love this song!

  • If yoy want to see more bad dancing, you should find the group Kano and their song "another life". You will laugh. Loud!

  • Marvin Gaye's background singers and dancers in some shows, in the sixties, used to dance in the same style as in this clip. Man..i'm still laughing. But it is important for me to say, that Marvin was one the greatest performers of all time anyway.

  • GREAT MEMORIES /////THANKS FOR POSTING

  • I think I was born in the wrong decade (1978). I should've been born in the 40-50's so I could've enjoyed my teenagerhood listening to these cool songs from the 60's...

  • This is the very first song I remember really loving and for too many years i had no idea who sang it. She was too cute and had a great voice!

  • looks like oprah on her good day.

  • I wonder what the rest of the "Millie Show" was.

  • Can you imagine this "Chimpmunkified"?

  • @SuperSnowbros It already is ;-) No offence, I love this song.

  • Such an adorable song - truly. I remember when it came out and I loved it the first time I heard it. It is so upbeat, not to mention sweet - guess that's why it's "My Boy Lollipop." Everyone I knew loved this song and we used to play it a lot at parties. It really brings back sweet, innocent, youthful memories. Thank you for this post.

  • Soooooooo cute!

  • Thank you Millie Small. As one of your penpals in the Sixties, this sound is still hot in the mind of those who grew up with your music most especially in Africa. Ride on, where ever you may be. You're a beautififul singer.

  • i wanna dance to this !! woho

  • Super nice song.

Super nice girl. Super lovely eyes and smile

  • temazo!

  • what a fun song!

  • I LIVE IN HELSINKI WOOOOOO WOOO YEAAAAH BOOOY

  • This is the Alpha right here for all modern West Indian musics. Almost 50 years later, this genre has spawned sooo many off-shoots.. from rocksteady to hiphop, from skinhead reggae to rap. It changed the way music would be produced and distributed world wide. It set the stage for one of the most icon human beings to ever exist to rise into fame (Bob Marley is one of the top 5 most recognized face world wide, just short of Jesus). Millie Small changed the world.

  • how good is this? when i was a young fella i never realised it was reggae, brilliant!

  • 4 People hate lolipops ^^

  • I agree emb1st...she's a cutie!! This song just gets your foot a tappin!!!

  • Someone needed to teach the go go dancers how to skank, because that was pure ska.

  • for 50 years i thought she was a young white teener.......and yepper: shes cute

  • very cute

  • Of course, in Britain, this was the record that broke Ska, Rock-steady and Blue-Beat into the mainstream, paving the way for the eventual surge of Reggae, in the Seventies. At the time, we just thought the beat was cute (like Millie herself!)

  • Without question one of the greatest pop classics of all time. The song charted #2 on both sides of the Atlantic in the year the Beatles were taking over America - pretty impressive to say the least.

  • hard to believe Rod Stewart played the harmonica solo

  • my girl lollipop i will never let you go ..love ya millie beautiful darling ...ups ? yes

  • after sooo many years . THIS STILL SOUNDS GREAT

  • What a sweet and happy song!!!

  • Me and my girlfriend played this song over and over again in 63. I was 17 years old at this time. Really nice memories to hear it again <3<3

  • @intelligentbullet haha lol, and no im not jealous

  • @luvlybubbly53

    Jealous???

  • Wow, she was so cute!

  • Rod Stewart on the harmonica !

  • @BOOTSYGetLIVE

    Seriously?

  • @BOOTSYGetLIVE Apparently it wasn't Rod Stewart, it was Pete Hogman, who was part of the lineup on harmonica with Jimmy Powell and the Five Dimensions.

  • Don't know why. But for some reason, I'm picturing Barney Frank. LOL

  • She has so much charisma!

  • The dancers at the end straight up feelin it

  • 5* for everything, the song, the artist, the feel, etc etc.

  • Boy do I ever remember this song.. Luv it

  • if i was hetero id have a west indian girl!

  • This is a Jamaican artiste first million copies sale. She is from Vere in clarendon. I think she now resides in Canada.

  • She Is Cute As A Button!! I Wished I Had Met Millie Small Back Then When She Sang "My Boy Lollipop"!! I Would Love That Girl Alot!!! :)

  • hahahahahhahahahhah lol lipop

  • É A "CARA " DA MINHA ADOLESCÊNCIA!

    AMEIIIIIIIIII

  • It is interesting that the video starts with Millie Small in silhouette with the posters shot from a bit of a distance so that we see her name, but can't quite see that she is Black. My guess that the producers wanted us to respond to the "baby" voice without regards to race. Once the affection for the sound was there, they could "break the news" to a White audience.

  • @chazmichel54 This video was taken from the finnish TV, not american or british, so I don't believe there were such kind of racial prejudicies, that would have made necessary of that kind of arrangements. Actually her being "exotic" black, would probably made her even more interesting in Finland than if she would have been "plain" european.

  • ang cute n2ng song..

  • Millie Small an American Gem. and like her beautiful smile.......priceless

  • @Goingbeach Millie Small is a Jamaican by birth, later acquire Anerican citizenship.

  • i dont know why but i like the old skool version better

  • I was a kid having fun in the Spring of 1964,and I loved this song and Millie. Still love both.

  • That song is one which sticks in my mind and comes back each time I hear it in a commercial or on a show. That was a good era for the music business since the Motown sounds was burning up the charts in Detroit and selling plenty of records.

  • I'm digging Miss Millie Small......thanks for this song , it is so fun.

  • I'm digging Miss Millie Small......thanks for this song , it is so fun.

  • Millie should have given dance lessons to those three girls behind her.

  • Stop hating on the white dancers!!!

  • Would this be classed as Bluebeat?

  • @MikeHudson65 It's technically ska. It's known as the first ever international ska recording - 1964.

  • The story I've heard is that a teenage Rod Stewart plays the harmonica. This brings back such good memories.

  • y she look 30 years old?????????????

  • Do I still love this song! I was about 4 when it came out. She was a cutie..I would have been her lollipop! Great to hear..

  • Świetna piosenka!!:)) mega pozytywna, mi poprawia strasznie humor :):)
