Revolting video, any feminist who claims they are for equality for all should be appalled. But my guess is of course many of you are just nasty anti-male types, the very type of attitude you purport to oppose. Think hard you know this is true.
Sure good message. Im sure it will get to the people intended eg Serial rapists, Drug dealers, Druggies, Gang leaders and they are going to mend their ways.......
Fair play guys, it's good to see this sort of thing from men rather than from women. It shows a level of understanding about what will get men to watch videos like this and ultimately gets what they want to get across.
i have nothing but admiration for this cause, but i can't help but be rubbed the wrong way by the clip show of young men either injuring themselves in dangerous situations or coming close to doing so. it isn't my intention to dismiss the real issue here, but when you're campaigning for gender parity, it's wise to avoid exploiting negative gender stereotypes, intentionally malicious or not. really could have done without the "men are all about skateboarding and dumb stunts innit" angle. thank you
you might not be hiding behind a bush at night waiting to pounce on a woman, but the facts are that most women are raped by someone they know - a boyfriend or an ex for example and it doesn't always involve violence...rape is carried out by 'normal' men when they don't recognise what their behaviour results in is a woman feeling coerced into sex. And so many men make jokes about rape - I've heard plenty such as "surveys say 9 out of 10 people enjoy gang rape" - if you don't condemn you condone
To those of you leaving comments who don't seem to 'get' the message of this video - it's tackling the trivialising of rape which occurs amongst men in society when they make jokes about it with their mates. We live in a 'rape culture' whereby violence against women is subtley condoned and reinforced. What this video is suggesting is that by making jokes related to violence towards women/rape and not outrightly condemning it, you are contributing to this culture!
@sweetdreamer2185 Clearly by writing that you have absolutely no idea about men at all. The first rule of propaganda is demonise the enemy and unfortunately some feminists think as men as the enemy. The Rape Culture Myth is a political tactic, you have been misled.
You'll never hear people on mainstream media laughing about a brutal rape, you will about a man having his penis cut off though. That's not rape culture.
I can see why people might not like this video but I persnally love it. It shows guys being stupid and having fun, but when that comment is made, their reaction is perfect. It's not something to take lightly and men do NOT support violence against women. Great work (and yes, looking at my username, you would be right to assume I'm female).
@d4m4s74 I'm a British woman and I don't think you are being very clever, declaring your intent to commit a vile crime on a public forum. But then I guess rapists aren't the most intellectually developed of the homo sapien species...Silly man. Grow up.
@pumpkinseedage the raping british women thing was a joke. I would never rape a british woman, or even have consensual sex with one. I mean, I have standards. But all joking aside. except for the last joke I was simply saying that stealing a couple of unrelated videos from other youtube users and adding some text will not get the word out. If you want to spread your message, be original.
@d4m4s74 Well, it will get out to some - even if it didn't for you. I don't think joking about rape it funny - I think that was the point of the video. We trivialise violence towards women and I think that the joking about it just confirms it.
you're correct, it does confirm some people trivialise violence in general, men and women. Hell, this video is all about men getting hurt, and because it's about men, it's okay, or even funny. Anyway, this type of video (an unoriginal video pieced together from other videos used to convey a message completely unrelated to the video) always pulls in the trolls. Those it would help won't find it. Those who make fun of it share. (continued)
@d4m4s74 No no, I didn't say that. This is about the trivialisation BY MEN of violence AGAINST WOMEN. How can you even compare a few lads goofing around at their own consent and at their own leisure with violence against women? You are stamping all over your own arguement by affirming the message of the video. This isn't about little boys deliberately hurting themselves. This is about little boys' all too common attitude to hurting women.
@pumpkinseedage All I'm trying to say is this video won't work. It's badly made, and will only attract those who do trivialize it, or at least pretend to, just to make people like you rage.
If you want to stop violence against women, this video won't help. it won't hurt either, but prepare to be disgusted and insulted by people in the comments. Because that's just the way people who look at these videos are.
@d4m4s74 you, sir, are a stupid person who for some reason is able to write. i don't know how it happened, but being able to convey your thoughts doesn't mean they are worth anyone's while. jokes about rape aren't funny. they just show the joker is a complete immature idiot who mistakenly thinks he owns a brain.
I'm all for ending violence against women. But... is violence against men just funny? Or "normal"? As long as men just kill and rape other men... it's ... fine? and ok? I don't get it.
It would be a lot more effective to address men's violence no matter who it's directed against. Still, good to see something. Perhaps it speaks to some young men.
@TurtleInTheSky 'I don't get it ' - what's not to get? men's violence against men gets a whole lot of air time - gang violence, knife crime, football hooligans. Yet, despite the fact that half of all women will suffer from violence at some point - and 2 women a week die at the hands of their partner or former partner (these are UK figures) - there's very little done to challenge the attitudes to women that cause this casual (and more private) violence. Here for once is something that does!
I don't get how anyone sees these men as "real"-- emotionally credible beings. It's yet another impossible standard of masculinity.
When young men so profoundly deny their own fear, pain and must prove their worth through fearless action in danger, can't talk out feelings, they will naturally deny fear, pain in the women they hurt acting out feelings.
@Msveitch The ability to empathize works the same on one's self as on others. If you respect your fears, you can respect others fear as well. We say "How would you feel if that happened to you?" to learn that. Except men are required to supress their fear to perform in dangerous jobs, policing, war, construction, mining, personal defense, etc. in order to be accepted as men and respected.
@Msveitch The real problem here is young men who don't care if they hurt themselves. Why would hurting women matter to them either? Men learn they are disposable and act that way.
The goal and intention here is wonderful! Refreshing to see. Expecting men to act like this isn't going to protect women nor men. It won't work. We need to address what motivates violence in men. Not just address it when the victim is female. I like "Violence: A National Epidemic" by James Gilligan for the detail.
@TurtleInTheSky I agree the underlying issue is masculinity and how it's constructed. If there were no problem we could send direct messages simply saying - men suffer from the effects of gender stereotyping too - as you've argued. But most young men don't see that they have any choice, and some never hear it challenged. So I think this video is aimed in a small way at opening that dialogue by appearing to be a standard issue jackass type film that ends with a serious point about attitudes.
@TurtleInTheSky The fact of the matter is that two men a week don't end up on a mortuary slab at the hands of their woman partners....To plead for equality in the issue of domestic violence is a massive part of the problem in my opinion. Domestic violence and rape are primarily committed against women my men. This video is attempting to help change male attitudes that there crimes are somehow acceptable to at least be joked about or not taken seriously.
Of course men should call each other out on sexist attitudes & behaviour. However, I wish that anti-rape-culture ads didn't rely on the idea of the "real man" who doesn't harass or attack women. I don't think it's valuable to turn the idea of the aggressive & macho "real man" on its head to get the emotionally mature & enlightened "real man." We should reject the idea of a "real man" (& that of a "real woman"). There's no such thing. There are simply men who rape, & men who do not.
I wish for a world in which this was the kind of reaction men got when they said something like that. Attitudes of both men and women really need to change - it's ridiculous this is still happening and victims are being ignored and mistreated, rarely gaining justice. Especially in a western country, sexism. Great video.
Revolting video, any feminist who claims they are for equality for all should be appalled. But my guess is of course many of you are just nasty anti-male types, the very type of attitude you purport to oppose. Think hard you know this is true.

misandric radical feminist propaganda ... would any organization in today's day and age portray women as this organization portrayed men? NO!

I like how you pinned it on the white guy too.

There's still a chance that HUMANITY will win. End violence against women.
Respect, justice, peace... Women rights are HUMAN RIGHTS!
Liberty, equality, sisterhood / brotherhood.
Equal social rights for everybody, everywhere - in free societies beyond capitalism and patriarchy! Free of classes, oppression and greed for profit!
All the best!
