@conspiritor2 Locke is delusional. He pretends to be in the military, he tries to have a serious relationship with a call girl, and invites her to the walkabout (she tells him to see a therapist). He tries to live a life that he simply cannot. He even brings up Norman Croucher, a double amputee who climbed Mt. Everest when his boss teases him about the trip. So yeah, he is kind of mad at this point of his life.

Very powerful scene and a great series. Shame about the religious nonsense at the end but I guess it had to satisfy the main strream audience in the land of the free. Also made me wish there was an afterlife and that everything always turns out for the best and everyone lives, even in death. I guess we all are searching for a better life and to escape the realities of human existance. LOST certainly provided me with some quality escapism.

The ending had nothing to do with religion. In fact the ending basically said that religion doesnt matter. We are all equal and there is no god.
