It's a shame, though, that a scene like this -- which is great in showing the relationship between the three -- disregards the riddle aspect of Boromir's (and Faramir's) dream. Boromir eagerly set out for Rivendell, seeking the sword that was broken, halflings, and Isildur's Bane, not knowing what any of them meant.
I love the films, but they needlessly screwed with a lot of characters and how they were presented in the books.
