Wilkins 720A 3/4" Pressure Vacuum Breaker - Sprinkler Daddy

hi, i need to replace the whole pressure vacume breaker... but cant seem to take it apart to replace it. any tips would be very helpful. its cracked under the plastic thing. and cracked at the first shut off valve from house. so i goota replace the whole thing. but i cant get it off. which way do i turn it? what parts came apart? im super lost!

I just purchased a Wilkins 420 "Repair Kit" which contains just the spring, spider,seat, etc. In the directions they say to "test the opening pressure differential of the air inlet valve". Is this done before or after installation of this new kit? Probably a real dumb question, but I'm no plumber, so I need help. Thanks in advance.

@jasonalara It probably doesn't hurt to do it before and after so you can note if there was any change after the repair. Let me know how it goes.

@sprinklerdaddy I performed the test after installing and it all went well to my surprise. Absolutely great pressure and cut off with not a drip. Works perfect now. Thanks for your reply. If I do any more work around my house, I'll be sure to ask you for help again. :)
