To spend vast sums on what MIGHT BE instead of rectifying what's wrong NOW seems a massive waste of resources. The people who assign the budgets for vanity projects like NASA have got their priorities way off. I don't feel like my future and that of my family relies on anything NASA does. Science may be better directed in working out how to reliably replace fossil fuels, provide free and clean water for everyone on THIS planet and feeding the the poor as well as the rich.
@Jay3S2 really man? the powers that be will never let us replace fossil fuels, provide free/clean water, or feed the poor. Pretty sure that's what science is intending to do right now, but without the money, we can't do that. So, now that the space program is over we should technically have tons of money to devote to those things?!?! NASA and Science were/are never the problems.
whats sad is that we let money get in our way of becoming a better race.
Atlantis sinked... Look at the poisonous clouds made of barium, strontium and aluminum. All the planet is polluted by criminals called military forces.
Huge clouds made of barium and other toxic aerosols dispersed all over the wordl and we can see better this shit from Atlantis. Please take a flight also over the Mediterranean sea and you will see the chemical disaster by the military.
I was 11 when the first shuttle flew. They have always taken my breath away. When it was nose down to Earth here I thought "Now, *that's* a spaceship!". It will be missed, but I'm excited about the future. It's not the end of space (if you'll pardon the metaphysical pun:)
@FcuKeugenicSS actually, they can't. And it's not a piece of cake, they need a lot more fuel to go to the moon, and even if they did land on the moon, they couldn't get out.
@djtiram2 yeah, they have to do the backflip to so that the crew on the ISS can take photos of the underside of the shuttle so that engineers on earth can analyse them and see if there is any damage
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

@GNeuman
Of course not! There's no gravity. Every direction feels the same to them. The only indication would be the scenery changing in the window.
KissofDawn2012 7 months ago
Stupid question, but do the astronauts feel like they are going upside down when the shuttle flips over? Sorry...
