  • watch This is Greece2009

  • ahhh?? I think this guy is the only who is normal in that village, the others are all GAY,the whole world know that greece is the motherland of gays

  • @Sidney38SNJ I dunno, I had this greek friend, he says he renamed a jar of Vaseline "greece"

  • το τραγικο ειναι οτι η αιμομιξια και η κτηνοβασια, ει ναι το χομπυ τους!!! το μονο παληκαρι στο χωριο ειναι ο τυπος αυτος. τελος

  • @Sidney38SNJ Everyone keeps forgeting that greece spend 400 years of slavery under Ottoman rule.. We missed the Renaissance.. This took a major toll in many aspects on our modern society..

  • It's tragic, but true. But similar things happen in small villages (or small towns) in the UK, the US and all around the world.

  • I say , do blame greece cause its easily the most homophobic country in the EU and greeks in general are totally disrespectful and hateful towards the gay community here . This is strangely the only video where commentetors claim to 'not ' be homophobic and blame turks and latvians and others for being so.All the other youtube videos with gay issues about greece are full of macho greek airheads screaming " faggots" and " u should all day " and bullshit likethat

  • Well the specific bbc presenter always picks up negative things about Greece and prsesent them. He should go maybe to a small village in england and he will find out that the same phenomenan are taking place there. This is a global phenomenon and not only a greek problem as he wants to make it look like

  • " . . . the only gay in the greek village"? i doubt it. "the only courageous and fearless gay in the greek village"? perhaps. in any case, i know from first-hand experience that greek culture/society is generally aggressively homophobic. my hat is off to this person for his courage and i wish him well. we need to stand up against oppression and intolerance - regardless of its guise. yia sou palikari. and thanks for the video.

  • I doubt his the only one, since Greeks are the founders of Homosexuality!

  • @btafilaj if you mean ancient greeks you must know that only the rich men were having relationships with not other men but with teens.men didnt have sex with men in greece

  • I wish it was like this in the rest of Europe too. Things have gone too liberal.

  • So what's a gay guy like him supposed to do, according to you? Go to a concentration camp? Things 'gone too liberal'? Whatever THAT means!

  • Why doesn't this guy take the Greek government to the EU court of human right. That would shake the Greek government

  • er hat total recht ich habe dort gelebt un alles live erlebt!!!! die meisten menschen dort sind wirklich liebenswürdig, aber einige leben noch im vorigen jahrhundert

  • God Bless! You need the best. This is crazy. Half those bothering you are probably gay themselves. Becareful and God Bless.

  • i hope someone help him the video is real i whant to sey greece is a fakink cauntry

  • i am ashamed to live in this country....

  • Some people are really obstinate. Not only in Greece but in small communities. Thanks Malcolm for your valuable info. Case-news we hardly hear from our media.

  • Where's that coming from? No-one's *blaming* Greece.

  • this is so sad. But it happens in US UK FYROM Turkey Latvia etc. Why is Greece the one to blame ?? Calm down!

  • dont blame greece,by the way...it may happen to any small village, anywhere in europe or USA...

  • "Dont stay in a sad place

Where they dont care how you are"

    Bowie, 'Everyone says hi'

I'd take my mother and go to a better place to live happily.

  • To greece gay...

  • No. I disagree with our friend below. The right to freely chose where one should live is one of the profound essences of the human rights movement. It is not right to discriminate on the grounds of sexual preferences, appearance or other to that effect. I give credit for him standing out and claiming what should be rightfully his as running away will only entail more running away.

  • I see where you're coming from, but let's face it, it's one person against an entire village - what can he accomplish by himself? No matter what happens, those people's attitude towards him will not change.

Why waste a lifetime trying to put sense into minds that won't open? 4 years of isolation and confinement is already far too much time wasted.

  • If you are of the opinion that standing for your rights is in any way a "waste of time" then clearly what "the history book on the shelf" has tought us has passed right beside you unnoticed. It is in those small fights that we stand up everyday that we must focus our efforts on as attitudes do change eventually as have done so over the recent years. No one could have pursued a gay marriage 30 years ago, this however has become a very tangible reality in the western world. Why not here as well...

  • I agree with you totally, you have, however, missed my point. He's alone. On his own. Solo. One against many. The "changed attitudes" you mentioned are actually the result of longterm, collective efforts. Bigotry and racism cannot be fought against unless in organized movements and in unity. Think about it.

    If you can.

  • LOL at "if you can" thats totaly the bottom line in this one!!

  • What that guy should do is take his mother with him and leave those narrow-minded villagers from hell and the clergy retards rotting in their sick medieval world behind.

    21st cent. Greece. Just sickening.
