I can only imagine the stress these little monkeys are going through everyday with all the people touching them. They are nocturnal and being up in the day is totally unnatural for them. But they are better off there then in a cage. I guess. I kept a pair for breeding purposes years ago so I know first hand that they do not make great pets. A Marmoset handles captivity much better.

I would just like to correct some wrong information about this species. One, this is not a monkey, this is considered a member of the lemur family. Two, this is not the smallest primate, nor that this can only be found in the Philippines. This specific Tarsier ranks third in terms of size from the 5 Tarsier species. Other species are found in Indonesia. But I encourage you guys to visit the species in the Philippines, since it is a lot more accessible than in Indonesia.

This is in a province called BOHOL one of the many islands in the Philippines. You can visit anytime to see the Tarsiers. You can either go to Loboc River or The Philippine Tarsier Foundation in Corella.
