My buddy and I threw ideas around for what the final fight will be vs Xehanort. We eventually settled on the idea of the fight happening while the world around them is being constructed/deconstructed by the shift in power during the fight. We also kind of set the fight within Kingdom Hearts itself.

I think maybe Xehanort (the apprentice) will be the one to return in KH3, since Sora and Riku killed both Xemnas and Ansem, and maybe master xehanort's body will be an empty shell (state of sleep) since his heart would still be inside Xenhanort (the apprentice) and until Xehanort's body is destroyed, by sora or whatevs in KH3, Terra's heart will be free and saved, while MX's heart will go back to his old body (either the old MX or young MX) and that will be the last fight....i think haha

Not really. Final Fantasy games are set in entirely different canons aside from the ones that state otherwise.

Even if Nomura has said that Sora will always be the main protagonist, I still think that the series should move away from him after the Xehanort Saga. I honestly think that the series will start going downhill (or downhill faster, depending on your view of the series) if the focus ALWAYS ultimately ends up being Sora.

@OniLink96 A main character is not a main character in a series unless if they are taken away from the focus. You don't have Dragon Ball Z without Goku which is why Akira had to stop his plans from making Gohan the main since everyone wanted Goku back. So without Sora as the main with focus still being placed on him it is not Kingdom Hearts. It would be an entirely different series if they switched all the focus to someone else.

Except this is wrong. That's like saying KotOR isn't Star Wars because "lol, where's Luke/Anakin?" Like the Skywalker family has no real significance until around 30 BBY. Yet they're still significant stories prior to their importance.

The story shifting focus doesn't make it a different story.

@OniLink96 Usually though they have Luke as a part of the focus though. They will usually still show it like in the first three (timeline wise) by still including him in the last of the three prequel movies. And a movie series is not the same as a game series or TV series. In the movie series it is like one big movie separated into parts since originally Lucas had it all in one script but it was too big for one movie so he had to redo it by separating it all into six movies.

@OniLink96 Ultimately it will always have to have the focus being on said main character if there is a defined main character. In Star wars it is debatable as to who the main is. Many can argue it is Anakin as he ultimately did kill the Sith Lord. Or many can still claim it as Luke as he was the one who caused said change in Vader to happen to where he realized the error of his ways. In Kingdom Hearts It is obvious Sora is the main and that he has been a driving force in every game.

It's not like you can actually switch all the focus to someone else and still call another the main character. Sora was the whole reason Ventus did not die on Destiny Island. He was the reason Vanitas's face looked the way it did (like Sora because Sora shared apart of his heart which in turn affected Vanitas who is the original lost part of Ventus's heart). Xion from 358/2 days is a copy of him.

And Roxas looks like Ventus because when Sora took in Ventus at the end and Ventus's heart was left with Sora's nobody after Sora became a Heartless. So if Sora did not house Ventus's damaged heart Roxas would not have even looked like he did. He might not have even been if it wasn't for Sora taking in that extra heart.

I know why Sora is important. But the story can not be about him (directly) and still be Kingdom Hearts. Yes, whoever would become the new protagonist would most likely have ties, somehow, to Sora, but that doesn't mean Sora has to remain as the main character. I don't think the series should just pretend he didn't exist, but having a time skip or something and focusing on, say, his apprentice would be interesting, methinks.

@OniLink96 His apprentice may end up becoming the main character but the focus will never fully leave Sora. It can only leave Sora so much. Probably without him said new story wouldn't have happened. And it would be the apprentice who takes on the role but we would still see lot's of Sora. But I doubt they will leave from Sora being the main character as the whole series (to me) is just a story that has questions to be answered that have to be solved by Sora.

Forze Dell'Oscurita / Forze del Male and Darkness of the Unknown (combined) is now, for me, the theme of Xehanort. I mean, it is played as you fight Xehanort, and Xehanort only.

The thing with Forze Del Male is that it gets annoying and so does Darkness of the Unknown but not as fast but when you mash it up into this epic creation it cancels out the anooying tone to both songs.

@TIKXIII Oh, I agree. But Nomura is one of those people who has a story to tell - and we needed all of these pieces to be able to understand what's coming up, I have full faith in that. He weaves plot together :D

I honestly cant' wait for Reconnect/KH3, but I'm also interested in where he takes the series afterward. He has mentioned that he wants to make a new storyline after Xehanort is deeated once and for all in the next game.

Given that it combines Ansem SOD's and Xemnas themes, and the fact that it plays for the armor of Xehanort, this can seriously be used for the final boss fight to kill Xehanort once and for all.
