  • Maybe my fave Manics song - a great riff which James was happy to throw away after playing it twice - he is so unselfish...................slavetothechord you are very very right

  • yeah, James vocals and the lyrics...so straightforward, so naive, so beautiful...the best b-side alongside Donkeys, Are Mothers Saint, Too Cold Here

  • @SlaveToTheChord dude you are on the fkn money

  • This is the early Manics at their very best: that fabulous mixture of bravado + defeatism; touchingly naive, awkward lyrics + world-weary nihilism; cock-rock riffing + choirboy vocals and sweet melodies. It's like the soundtrack to the greatest tragic coming-of-age/ teenage rock 'n' roll 80s movie never made.

  • loving james voice on this, esp when it gets layered....woot!

  • Richey enjoying his hair. Reminds us all that he was just a self obsessed youth as we all were.

  • Great song x

  • Probably their best song, went off them in 1997

  • Would somebody pls send me the audio file of this song, please?? Thanks!

  • totally agree with those sentiments...cant believe its nearly 20yrs ago they wrote this! One of James best early vocals and a sign of later things to come absolutely.

  • Thank you! My favourite Manics song. Beautiful x

  • I love this song.

It's such a shame this and so many other great bsides were not included in lipstick traces

  • What a gorgeous song, I've never heard this before! Thanks for uploading
