This band changed me forever when I was thirteen and heard them for the first time in 1983. The crap I'd been hearing on the radio just didn't cut it anymore - and it still doesn't. I still think they're one of the all time greats. Powerline rocks. Please, everyone, post everything you can find of this band.
Terms is such a great song. I recall that Books About UFOs surprised me when New Day Rising came out since I didn't expect them to do a really good pop song.
this is one of the best bands of all-time......and to anyone who isnt that familiar with the band, repeated listens are necessary to grasp the true greatness of the melodies and rhythms of the songs....there may be equals to Bob Mould on guitar, but none better
he gave me a t-shirt at Newport TJ's coz i was doing anti-nazi work. he seemed like a nice guy.
didn't really have a clue who he was at the time. yeah ok he was in husker do and all but so what. my mate almost fainted when i told him about this recently.
It will never happen. We'll see a Smiths reunion first. Mould and Hart are at least able to be on stage together now (they played Never Talking To You Again together at the Karl Mueller benefit), but a tour? New recordings? No way, they'd kill each other. I mean, they really HATE each other. Hart took a swipe at Bob in an interview as recently as a year ago.
at the very least take care of the legacy of the band and reissue their back-catalogue.
maybe they do hate each other but even so, if they had to jam again with greg they'd still have it. im certain of this. and if their troubles came from substance abuse, well they've both been clean since the late eighties. IMO the acrimony is overblown. they were good friends once and should be again for the sake of their truly remarkable band.
Love seeing this. As a long time drummer I know how it can happen that it's just not a good point for your guitarist to tune, just a shame it happened before such a melodic song as powerline!
lol, i ripped this vhs. :D I'm glad my rip is still online :)

They were the first to do this "kind" of music. I can't explain what exactly. But they're extremely important to me.
