So the fact that the incumbent won is evidence that the US enticed the Lebanese to vote for the Future movement, I doubt that. Once again the factor that decided the election was the high turnout of the Christian voters for the Future movement with the fear that Lebanon would move into the Iranian-Syrian axis greatly affecting the external politics of the country.

No surprizes here. Hezbollah was trying to make a political statement, not win an election. Hezbollah winning would have cut off the money faucet and they know that the more we send to Lebanon, the more they can steal from the people.
