  • MISS YOU BANJO <3

  • When was this taken?

  • The new single, Anthem of the Working Man, by The 99%, is the theme of the Occupy Wall Street movement. This moody protest song is in the tradition of Simon & Garfunkel's The Boxer and Dylan's Like A Rolling Stone. It explores the widening gap between the ultra-rich and the 99%, and debunks the the theory that, if we make the rich happy, their generosity will trickle down to the rest of us. 'He owns the castle. He owns the hill. You and I, we just pay the bill.'

You can catch it on YouTube

  • Greed on everyone's part has destroyed our economy and the economy of many other countries. Not only were corporations greedy, but every day citizens were greedy also. Everyone wanted that big dream house and a new car parked in the garage even though there was no way to be able to afford it. How many demonstrators that are protesting corporate greed carry around an iPod or iPhone in their pocket? That's supporting corporate greed right there. There has to be accountability..

  • @pearlyone1

cronie capitalism is right up there and obumer(debt man walking) is getting killed with all the failed green energy jobs. The more that surface the worst it will get and the more exposed his failed presidency will come to fruition. Let's not forget the fast and furious scandal.

  • Useful idiots. Can't stand them, and can't expatriate them. What to do?

Maybe they'd all accept one-way tickets to North Korea?

  • What waist of good oxygen..you ows?

OWS still will have to engage in capitalism.

and excuse to not work, party, and get drunk/stoned.

An example of pizz poor members of the community trying to be role models.

  • @Zonly1 Oh, yes. Because I'm sure that a group of people, who are voluntarily sleeping on the pavement and who have made their community a strict drug-free zone, are doing all this just to party. By the way, they're against corporatism...not capitalism.

There are some anti-capitalism people there, but the movement is anti-corporatism. How stupid do you have to be to look at them protesting Wall Street bailouts & assume it's capitalism they're against?

Stop watching FOX. You'll rot your brain.

  • @GrowTheTruth

Try some common sense moron. Anti-corporation is anti capitalism. They are hand in hand.

Stop watching leftnut nazi propagandist show like msnbc, cbs, politico, moveon.org, cnn, pbs, abc, slate.com, etc. They dumb down your edjamucation.

Furthermore our econ collapsed by passing the CRA by jimmeh carter and bill clintool forcing banks to make over-leveraged loans(no dwn pmts) to unqualified homeowners. We then piled on by printing monies ad nausem into circulation.

  • @Zonly1 (4/4) Due to the power of corporations within the government (which is what corporatism is), the officials are more involved in caring for special interests of those paying them than the well-being of the American public.

So, the OWS movement is against corporatism. The corporate control creates a barrier between politicians & the general public. Until that control is severed, the People's demands will not be seriously considered, as tax payers are not the politician's bread and butter.

  • @Zonly1 (3/4) The repeal of that Act removed the seperation & allowed investors to speculate using public interests (ex. morgages).

The printing of fiat currency, as you said, also hyper-inflated the economy. Removing the Federal Reserve all together, issuing a gold standard, & having the government control the printing of money (as opposed to a privatized bank) are also effective.

However, the main enemy at the moment is corporate interest groups who currently impose a conflict of interest.

  • @Zonly1 (2/4) I don't watch MSNBC or CBS or any station you listed. I aquire my knowledge through the expertise of various economists, researchers and outlets. I'm very meticulous in researching subjects that I take interest in.

America's economy is falling into a recession for many reasons. Partially due to the removal of the Glass-Steagall Act, which called for the separation of commercial & investment banking. It required use of government securities as collateral for Federal Reserve notes.

  • @Zonly1 (1/4) Read...and read carefully. Corporatism is CORRUPTED capitalism. Today, the capitalist system has been utilized to be in the best interest of corporations.

Corporatism is "a system of economic, political, or social organization that involves association of the people of society into corporate groups, such as agricultural, business, ethnic, labor, military, patronage, or scientific affiliations, on the basis of common interests".

  • @GrowTheTruth

Shove it with your revisionist definition of corporate is corruption...you can beg like the eu but you're being played like an ignorant card while the corp. are watching all this...in stock trading the big boys feed on your fear and no matter how much you complain your life will never improve infact as the eu experiment continues the whole world will be bankrolling their econ and that is not how econ works.

read this moron: cheap money = less purchasing power

  • @Zonly1 If you don't want to educate yourself on what I'm saying, then what makes you think that I'd waste my time with your paltry argument?

Neither the protesters nor I are afraid. The cops can beat & intimidate us, but protesters stay to remind the world that those in power are outnumbered.

There's no complaining on my part. Seems you're the one pissing & moaning without accomplishing anything. At least the protesters are creating global conversation. What are you doing besides bitching?

  • @GrowTheTruth

the only education is needed is YOU to read my above post to you b/c apparently u think life owes you something for your failures and the rest should pay for your dumas mistakes like the housing bubble and how cra started by leftnut nazis hell bent on thinking that it is right to for low income when some could never afford it. It's dumfoks like u who are clueless about econ fundamentals.

  • @Zonly1 Where did I said that life owes me something? Where did I say that anyone should pay for my mistakes? Where did I say that the housing bubble has anything to do with any mistake I've made? And where did I say that it was right to offer morgages to low income individuals?

Speaking of "dumfoks", it looks to me like you're the only person here who is painfully clueless about economic fundementals. You don't even seem capable of following this conversation.

    How sad.

  • @carlindelco LMAO!! They're against corporations holding the puppet strings of politicians through lobbying and bailouts. That's what makes America a great nation to you? Corporations fucking the American people up the ass by taking tax payer money and rigging the economic system?

I think you belong in a mental institution, personally. Maybe you should look into what they're saying more and seriously consider whether corporate domination of the economy sounds like a good plan to you. :)

  • @GrowTheTruth LMAO you are blaming the tempter while it is the "tempte" AKA YOUR political group that TAKES the money.. Why aren't you protesting obama solindra payoff that's crony capitalism. You liberals need to us all a favor and divest yourselves from he business of business and government and leave it to us the moral adults. They are protesting 1 part of the top 1% for what? they have wealth and success two things liberals don't want to WORK for.. liberals are losers...

  • @carlindelco (2/2) I work 48 hours a week & earn a decent salary. However, it's a bad system when university graduates can't find any work beyond a minimum wage job. About 6.2 million Americans, 45.1% of all unemployed workers in America, have been jobless for more than 6 months - at its highest since the Great Depression. Youth unemployment is currently at 50%.

So, when keyboard ignoramuses start bitch at people to "get a job", I often wonder just how out of touch with reality they really are?

  • @GrowTheTruth RE"o, when keyboard ignoramuses start bitch at people to "get a job", I often wonder just how out of touch with reality they really are?" You prove again you are a liberal."see dwarf" This is the land of opportunity where you have access to more information and resources than ever before and these kids with gender studies degrees who can't get a job, also seem to be unable to create their own business or wealth.

    In 1996 I couldn't find a job after 6 months, I started a Biz!

  • @carlindelco (1/2) If you're offered $13 million to look after a corporation's interests, would you take it? Most would.

They aren't going to get away scott free. The plan is to prosecute those found guilty of being involved in such destructive behavior. However, their behavior isn't going to stop until the money stops flowing.

Now, I'm not a liberal. I don't associate myself with any of those labels. Such labels are for simpletons who lack the ability or desire to see another's point of view.

  • @GrowTheTruth Well what they earn is none of business. What our elected officials do IS. If there is corruption in wall street, there are laws for that. But no evidence of any law breaking has been offered. If a person is 4 ft tall they are a dwarf, the way you talk is the same measure. So I believe that you are a liberal. Complaining about college students who graduate and can get a job other than minimum wage, is further evidence. This is the land where you can Create your on wealth.

  • @carlindelco "But no evidence of any law breaking has been offered."

    AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!

  • @GrowTheTruth Yeah, do YOU have some??? Let hear it.... You guys ALWAYS make accusations ( like your spiritual father) but offer NOTHING to back it up. It clear shows you are simple a mindless automatons reiterating what you have been told to say. " 1 person mic check, crowd of simpletons mic check! " lol You see? That's how it's done.. i made an accusation to your intellect ( or lack thereof) and immediately offered evidence of the fact. Now you try LOL I win!

  • @carlindelco There's no evidence of any law breaking, you say?

Go look into Shell's horrible environmental destruction in Nigeria. It's sickening...and they still haven't been made to be accountable for the horrid crimes against those people. Their homes, livelihoods and families have been hurt badly.

Or how about the Bank of America, which illegally forcloses on American home owners, regardless of the fact that they can't prove they own the morgage anymore.

You need to do some research.

  • @GrowTheTruth What topic or video are you on? does you ADD prevent you from staying on one topic longer than 3 seconds? I was talking about wall street. Put the pipe down and take a walk outside for a few minutes.. YOU are the one who needs to do research.. 1 bank? is that all you have?

  • @carlindelco My apologies. I've got 12 conversations going at the moment.

I'd like to know what law the Occupy protests have broken. Furthermore, I'd like to know where in the Constitution it says that any law is an exception for refusing freedom of speech & assembly.

You think BoA is the only bank? LMAO! The Federal Reserve (a private bank), which gave $12 trillion in bailouts? Citigroup? Wells Fargo? Fannie Mae?

You've no clue what's actually going on in the world, do you?

  • @GrowTheTruth RE:"I'd like to know what law the Occupy protests have broken" ARE you KIDDING ME?! Public indecency, public defecation shitting on a police car is believe or not a no no. assault, RAPE, murder, vandalism, I mean did you watch ANY news reports?? Talk about not knowing anything... please wake up..

  • Occupy, Yup... occupy some jail cells.

  • Great video!

  • How does it go again?

  • The U.S. CORPORATION-D.C. is nothing more than 180,000 fake

"gov/funds/depts" with CAFR reports and DUN&BRAD STREET ratings.

It is the majority share holder of the crony-global-FORTUNE500....and that includes those on "WALL STREET"....get is morons?? The "gov" is the CORPORATION that owns the "corporations".

The IMF controls the U.S. CORP since the instigated "great depression" bankruptcy

It is UCC, IMF-fed reserve, and ADMIRALTY LAW

Don't be a useful idiot. It's a psyop for agenda

  • Banjo! His spirit is great! Love the people @ Occupy DC... everyone should go there first hand!!! The people are beautiful!!!

  • @ekline8 I'm too busy making changes in MY own life to bother with throwing stones at people who have nothing to with my decisions or life.

  • @ekline8 Occupy DC is hellaciously FUN. I've heard this song played there for awhile now, I hope it goes viral!

  • lol hippies

  • @chakazulu87 Amen! :)

  • I'm on the Malcolm X side of things.

  • @dude12nothin

I'm on the people side of things.

  • @whoo689 What the hell are you trying to say/prove?

  • Who cares if its violent or not! Sometimes it takes violence to get your point across. You see this people snickering from their balconies, sipping champagne and sticking out their tongues at the protesters below. They think they're invincible! Maybe they need to be afraid of this movement.

  • @amoyer06 They already are afraid of the movement.

  • Btw, how LONG will this go on? It's been over a month. 2 months? 6 months? a YEAR? I'm not sure how, after having ALREADY had a month of all this media exposure and videos all over YT, spending MORE time here is really gonna give much more benefit. law of diminishing marginal returns.

  • @whoo689 To quote an old labor song, "Hold out one day more, hold out one day more, if the man holds out for twenty years, then we'll hold out one day more."

  • What happens when some of these folks go back to college (at least, the ones that ARE attending college) after ALL those days they skipped, and they get a letter saying, "You're on probation" or perhaps even "You've been expelled"?? Morons...

  • Then they realiz ethey shot themselves in the foot for a movement that may not even really take off in the end. What GUARANTEES do we have that this isn't just a flash in the pan, that the LEADERS of this country, much less Wall St., are listening and will ACTUALLY pay attention to the people fro a change?

  • @whoo689 There never are any guarantees when you are fighting a revolution.

  • @whoo689 What happens when most of these folks, like myself, cannot afford to GO to college. Moron.

  • As long as you're peaceful and aren't starting shit, the cops usually don't give a fuck. But if you GIVE them a reason to arrest or retaliate, they'll take it. :/ What can I say

  • @whoo689 They'll retaliate even when you're nonviolent. However, that only builds your numbers. That's why NYC is so huge, and Washington DC isn't. The worst violence we've seen in DC was when the smithsonian's rent-a-cops maced us.

  • Ever considered, guys, that MAYBE if you just stood around holding up your signs and DIDN'T cause chaos or violated the law unnecessarily, you WOULDN'T get the cops on your ass??

  • @whoo689 You haven't been paying attention dude. The cops have been on their ass since day one without anybody violating the law.

  • finaly people decide to do something now lets see if they now what to do next

  • I hope they don't ACTUALLY mean occupy everywhere. Because just a fair warning; if anyone goes to my secret island base, I'm sending the bear cavalry.

  • So... being "occupiers" is bad when the American military does it to Iraq, but it's "Ok" for us? I mean, I find it a little goofy that the same people who complained nonstop about the occupation of Iraq, which I was not a fan of btw, now think an "occupation" of their own is a-ok... because it's Wall St. being occupied.

  • Call me a semantic bitcher or whatever, but I think it just goes to show that these far-left people, like far-right ideologues, are just as dogmatic and in many cases little more than brainwashed sheep.

I mean, ARE most of the people at OWS pro-capitalism but AGAINST the banks, the bailouts, tax cuts, etc., or are they just a bunch of dirty, smelly hippies who are against capitalism and business IN GENERAL?

  • The goofiness of left-wing protests like this is one reason why I probably will never show up at that crap. Is this a protest or a party??

  • And if you intentionally provoke police and fuck up, you're probably gonna get arrested and have your ass handed to you. I refuse to believe that EVERY person who's "beaten" or "brutalized" by the cops in, say, NYC, didn't have it coming or didn't break one law or provoke them. Yes, some of it probably was excessive force, but some of it may have been morons who got in the moment, broke laws unnecessarily, and fucked things up for themselves just for a PR stunt or whatever.

  • Say what you will about the Tea Party, but at least THEY were pretty peaceful about it. They mostly stood around holding dumbass signs and whathaveyou. They weren't shooting up the place or getting arrested by the dozens, if not hundreds. They weren't shitting on cop cars or kicking down cop motorcycles. Yeah, if you touch the cops' shit or piss them off, they might retaliate. It's human nature. Don't provoke them. Simple as that. Do these far left loons even KNOW what "peaceful" means?

  • I find it highly ironic that some of the MOST VIOLENT protests seem to be left-wing, at least in this country. There's the OWS, the anti-globalization protests such as the Battle of Seattle, and so on. For being "peace" or "nonviolence" advocates, they sure as hell don't practice it in their OWN lives, it seems.

  • @whoo689 What the fuck are you talking about? The violence you see in this footage is COPS beating nonviolent protesters.

  • @whoo689 you need to get out there on the ground and see first hand what's happening. You're talking out your asshole.

  • @whoo689 "IN GENERAL"

It´s hard to understand the reality isn´t black&white only...

  • @whoo689 your missing the point. there just protesting.

  • Great montage. It's essential to remember that the occupation of physical space, as important as it is, is still a metaphor for the occupation of our authority, imagination, values, and power. Let's not become obsessed with keeping tents in parks at the expense of keeping our heads, hearts and bodies in the struggle against concentrated power and wealth.

  • I really feel that if we first don't change campaigning and take out the bribe money that is constantly pined for by politicians in order to run. Then we're never going to get the change we want. Where ideals fight each other, not who ever has the highest bid gets what they want done.

  • America Fiddles... While Rome Burns ;(

  • Brought to you by 9% unemployment.

  • @Xceles618 9% lol, thats what they feed you,its way more than that, thats just people recieving ue benefit.

  • @Xceles618 That's a very limited calculation. Real unemployment is closer to 20%

  • @ThePunkPatriot Yeah I know man I put 9% because it is the calculation the government uses to show unemployment based on 12 week standards. They don't count the long term unemployed, injury, workers compensation, SSI or any other meaningful statistics. They're the government and they want you hoodwinked.

  • @ThePunkPatriot That's true. And another 20-30% are underemployed. Lately it seems the only places hiring are offering McJobs.
