This. This is one of my favourite Trek episodes EVER. One of the first to portray an Ayn-Randesque controlled world and the fate that would mean for humanity. Plus Kirk's first experience of talking a computer to death. Plus he's delicious.

I am not of the body that approved of "Shock and Awe." As for spreading the wealth, the only checks I ever got from the Fed (other than overpayment refunds) were from GWB - he called them "economic stimulus payments." Guess he thought it was good for the body to give all the little parts a bribe. Have we ever been more socialistic than during the past 3 months? The body owns Freddie and Fannie. No argument that Bush was a Big Govt. type - but he was not surrounded by a creepy cult, which is the point of the comparison.

And give the guy credit -'shock and awe' WORKED. The war was just brilliant in both its planning and execution - destroy the worlds fourth largest army in a few weeks - just amazing.

The peace, on the other hand...not so good.
