That all said ... the Continental (set up as a separate entity within Ford from its Lincoln division ... for several years) Mark II .... some contend, bested even the 1958 coveted Cadillac Eldorado, which at the time (the latter -- the Cadillac) boosted the highest price-tag of any production car on the planet. Today, of course, the Eldorado 1958 commands premium market value over all of its contemporaneous peers. Numerous other Cadillac models hold their own, too: a legendary post 1901 marque!
Wonderful car -- terrific engineering for a gas guzzler. Funny that so many morons bother to restore anything with a hideously noisy and what invariably sound like near missing Chevy engines (even at their best they are clanky; listen to top-of-the-line 60s - 80s Corvettes) makes little sense. Cadillacs -- as proven by your VID produce little noise heard from the outside, and they are tons more quiet (and idle smoothly) heard from inside their passenger compartments -- make a smart ride choice
As far as a trunk crest look at Mcvey's thats where I got mine....all Brand new reproduction parts you would cry tears of joy when you get it...PERFECTION....I got a bunch of parts from them some years ago NOS parts are exact reproductions....check them out....google Mcveys
Hear the sound of the door closing??? THAT'S WAS GM AT IT'S FINEST!!! Today all crap junk....Awesome car/video and I agree 30000% with your comments,UJAXMAN,afterall its your car!!! I have a black '57 fleetwood that I got from my dad for graduating hs,and I looooove it!!!
Damn it!! Now I want to go work on my Cadillac, and its to nasty out right now! I have a 1946 Fleetwood. Nice car! and don't pay any attention to theses guys its your car to do what you want with. I have people that don't like some of my choices with my car.
I feel the same way about Cadillacs and towing, why have a uncomfortable truck, that seats three across in cramped comfort and that also has no lockable storage space, or a cadillac? Sounds like a no-brainer. Then they will argue, buy a supercab or a crew cab and buy a topper or a bed cover.... Who's buying this vehicle? Waste your money on a bunch of extras that i get in the asking price of a cadillac...
Did I mention I OWN THIS CAR? I can do anything that I want with it. I can crush it, burn it, wreck it or give it to the kidney foundation. I can also put a trailer hitch on it and tow the World's Largest Playable Fender Telecaster guitar (which I built) to events. My '58 Caddy is part of the show. When you get a 1958 Cadillac, you can do whatever you want with it. For now, you should just shut your Pie Hole and stop telling people what to do with their own cars. This is still AMERICA!
@UJAXMAN Damn right, my friend! I agree with you 200%. You know, I put a hitch on my '68 Coupe DeVille and some folks gave me crap about it. Well guess what? I told 'em pretty much the same things you said in your comment and that was the end of it. But here's the kicker...the guy I sold the car to told me one of the reasons he wanted to buy it was BECAUSE it had a hitch! If you want to tow and you're not into trucks, a healthy old Caddy is the way to go.
@michaelitaly1 I have the same exact car with the same story. mine sat for about 15 years in a car port also. My car isn't as nice as yours. If I could get my brakes fixed I could drive it. I even have an Elvis plate on the front of my car.
I appreciate your movies; you started about the trunk emblem that was partially missing. I miss mine from the hood, but noticed they ask ridiculous high prices for it on eBay (almost 300 USD). But I will keep my eyes open if I find a pair of these emblems or somenthing.
I noticed that you missing your 'CADILLAC' emblem on the fins too, or didn't you put them on yet?
I recently uploaded a movie from my 58 Cadillac too, I will add it as a movie reply on this movie.
Cars were built to last in those days. Trying parking up later model shit for 15 years and see how it lasts!

Sweet car man, the '58s are about as classy as they come. OPGI.com would have those emblems for you, they're pricey but new. Elvis is the man! :D
