  • It's the attempt to make this wonderful song sound a bit more modern and like pop :(

  • This doesn't work with a blatantly american accent.

And make that guitarist take of that horrific shirt.

  • This is just horrible. Takes a great traditional song and completetly butchers it.

  • Crisp and clean happy voice. at least one can understand all the lyrics. the beat is cheerful and uplifting. great job!

  • FANTASTIC!!!!

    LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Its not a disgrace...She is lovely...This version is missing the point

  • terrible...

  • Someone cut my ears off please

  • Awesome version, these songs can be sung however you like. That is the beauty . Obviously I like the traditional version, but you can hear that anywhere.

  • I'm sure a lot of full-blooded Irish might not like this. However, since I am only half Irish, I think it's a nice variation on a traditional song.

  • Great duette such a pure sound, just delightful to listen to...love the album guys....

  • Love it or hate it, you gotta give credit for creativity. I love it! This version really got me interested in this song. I do a traditional rendition and then go into a "Fiffin" rockin' version, then slow down and end with a traditional chorus. It's a hoot!

  • Nice ;)

  • Traditional songs are not static, but reinterpreted by each generation. I thought this was a fun version. May this song last another thousand years. :)

  • this one sucks i like the normal one>=/

  • good song :D

  • When I started listening to this I thought "What is this?" but half way through I let go of prejudice and started to like it. Now I love it.

  • The song version, the musicality, the garjus video (THOSE EYES!) are all nearly perfect. Anyone who disagrees is daft. Period. Wander off and listen to any old crap you like - this is brilliant stuff. bite me.

  • What a shitty version....arghhhh

  • horrible much?

  • Lesbian

  • you are dicracing Irish heritage you see some times you DONT chan

    ge a traditional song

  • What does name Cox mean in Irish\English? Anything to do with cocksucking?

  • oh very nice version ;)

  • is the original version sung by The Dubliner???

  • @orinta5064 the original version was sung in ww1, so no, it wasn't made by them (i think, i'm not sure) but i read a book about ww1 and they sung it...

  • @TheThompje thanks very much coz I was really confused.

  • @orinta5064

No its an old traditional irish song, It was written 1883.

  • Just leave it alone America

  • I was hoping for a song with a little bit faster beat, not a pop version of a classic.

  • as much as its an amazing cover by Fiffin Market i just think it is one of them songs you dont touch, you leave it to the officail version

  • @TheFunkyManc what "official version" are you talking about?

  • @TheHounddog2020 origional version

  • call me old fashioned, but I feel like this song should be left with the original dictation/ beautiful slow moving melody. It's a great pop interpretation though! It shows a different aspect of this song that I've never heard. Great job on the music and video!

  • schande für dieses wunderschöne Lied...

  • What beautiful eyes *______________*

  • her eyes are amazing....

  • Alive-a-live-oh... Alive-a-live-oh....Alive-a-live-oh Alive-a-live-ohAlive-a-live-ohAlive-a-live-ohAlive-a-live-ohAlive-a-live-ohAlive-a-live-ohAlive-a-live-ohAlive-a-live-ohAlive-a-live-ohAlive-a-live-ohAlive-a-live-ohAlive-a-live-ohAlive-a-live-ohAlive-a-live-ohAlive-a-live-ohAlive-a-live-ohAlive-a-live-ohAlive-a-live-ohAlive-a-live-oh

  • Fucking shit! I feel violated after listening to this god-awful rubbish. Her voice was shaky, her accent was incredibly ugly, and they basically fucked this song up so bad it hurts. Watching the video with out the sound is a bit more bearable....

  • disaster,dirty violation memory moll

  • gud song but suppose 2 be sad...

    still gud song

    :)

  • This is what happens when you don't pay attention to the lyrics you are singing. This is a sad story about the death of a man's sweetheart while he was away from her. How can you possibly think it's a good idea to sing these lyrics in an upbeat pop-ish way?

I really don't get it. It's like singing Don't Worry Be Happy as a funeral march...

  • It would be an alright rendition if she didn't phrase it really really really really stupidly...

  • She has a nice singing voice, but this song should be slow and sad. This was just too happy,

  • shes hot but ABSOLUTE SHITE AT SINGING AND THIS VERSIONS BOLLOCKS!!

  • When this "angel" has fallen from the sky?

  • I think, it´s the most interesting interpretation of this song I´ve ever heard (..and I´ve heard a lot...) good work!!!

  • Some things should remain sacred...

  • you's have created a little something special here. i back on my third listen. nice work

  • really good.

  • The voice is great, yeah, and that version isn't such awful, but I prefer Dubliner's version.

  • Ruin a good song, why don't u!

  • Horrible

  • I'm Scottish.. And I love this song.. But I dislike This Version of it :/

  • The Dubliners! Fuck this shit!

  • I love her voice, but this song is meant to be sad.

  • sorry, just not my style. personal opinion: this sucks, leave remaking folk songs to professionals

  • what a pretty woman!

  • Girl you are driving me mad, you SEXY thing. Great Song........ Sixtyschild1

  • maaaan....what is this shit?

  • The singer is Kimberly Gray, I love her voice and presentation. She is no longer with Fiffin Market, who changed their name in 2009. Does anyone know what became of Kimberly Gray?? is she still singing?

  • 352 people dont have a live a live oh oh

  • huba huba this chick is smokin

  • i prefer th dubliners by a mile

  • Its a very fine "Molly Malone" !

  • Personally I think it's a great song and she has a good voice. That's all that matters.

  • wunderbar !

  • Comment removed

  • True that the melody is different, and perhaps not what everyone likes, but isnt that what Irish music is all about? Doing old classics in new and inventive ways? Something to think about.

  • she's hot... but im not too impressed with this version. cant beat the original

  • This is...well, how to put it without sounding like a douche? Oh, right...terrible. Simply terrible. Ruined a great and beautiful song.

    Chick is ugly, too.

  • I am from Holland, and I learned this song at my school and knew it´s a tradtional Irish song and it´s a shame that I hear a Irish person herself ruin a Traditional Irish song! And you Irish men I love the people there and agree with most Irish people that England is a fucked up country. Be proud to be Irish! Greetings from the Netherlands

  • This is horrendous. Ruined a traditional Irish song.

  • the words are right but the tune is wrong, very wrong.

  • People, these days, the young especially, cannot deal with complex rhythm's as that in the original, 3 and 4 interlaced gracefully, so here they did it very square, to the precise 4's, so that, the young would find it "pop" sounding, but it's a very strange song to try to make into "pop" since it is dark humor at best. The song should be, in it's sound, a tribute to the poverty, and steadfastness, of the irish over the ages. That's what it is for me. I'm recording it today in Hollywood

  • the girls is chick :)

  • she is a bit too fast but its ok

  • This version SUCKS....

  • like to have some that lip stick on my dip stick

  • Im a Dub (Born in Dublin) and love this version. Gura Mila.

  • Wow she makes a song about death seem good???

  • Very beautiful!!!

  • WTF? Way to butcher it.

  • she looks good but this version is shit!

  • i changed my mind fuck killing Beiber and Rebecca Black i wanna kill this bitch

  • Molly Malone was a Fish-Monger !

Und sie starb an einem Fieber .

    Welches Fieber ?

    MfG

  • good but the dubliners-moly malone is pretty good

  • @HermesBoyd Ouch. But, yeah, valid points. Really don't like her staccato delivery.

  • ohh I do not like this at all...dissapointed, nice voice and good guitar but terrible version in my opinion!!

  • The singer is hot but it is all makeup (sadly) and she looks like she is trying too hard to look sexy/glamorous and that just screws her up for me....but that does not excuse screwing up the lyrics, beat or turning a tragic Irish song into a "catchy" pop song...not to mention a total lack of emoting. She sounds like something off of a "Kidz Bop" album.

And before someone gets cranky over that, I sell music and have to know what the bad stuff sounds like. Personal opinion, really. I'm allowed.

  • That has got to be the SEXIEST presentation of DEAR OLD... MOLLY MALONE. Well done Fiffen Market.

    Sixtyschild1

  • I can't say I like this version much mainly due to the lack of passion in the style. No disrespect to the singer who sings well, the song just does not suit this genre of music

  • try the bardofcornwall for loads of traditional celtic songs including molly malone although the quality of that one is not as good as most of his posts. Rocky road to dublin is a must listen.

I'm not connected to the bard in anyway, think he's Canadian and I'm a Brit but he is very cool

  • I love this arrangement!! Very creative way to present a traditional song.

  • no offence but you ruined the song it's supose ti be an Irish song not supose ti be changed all new and American :/

  • she said and shirt was no wonder who messes that up?

  • amazing version of a beautiful song. I love this song

  • Nice song,I heard it before , when I was in Dublin in 2010 on my first travel with my wife we heard it once in pub and sometimes my wife sings chorus..and song is continuing in my family.

We are not Irish,we like Irish culture,We are Bosnians and We like nice song as Molly Malone!

  • I'm sure that there are ppl who enjoy this, but I am not among them. You have taken a beautiful traditional folk song and reduced it to mainstream pop crap. It would be like taking the US national anthem or "America the Beautiful" and making a pop song out of it. It just shouldn't be done for the sake of the song.

  • I have been listening to all the postings of this song trying to find a good version. However, I have not found one, and this is amongst the worst bucthery of a beautiful ballad. Can't anyone with some talent sing it good and right.

  • @ndbathan If you find a good version send a link my way. I like the Dubliners version but the best I've ever heard was in a pub in Killarney by some local band.

  • @ndbathan Try Danny Kaye's version. There is one posted on YT, but it's a bit dragged out. He sang it at the end of several of his old radio show (1940's) broadcasts. Should be easy to find.

  • I love this version as well as The Dubliners.

  • booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • i hate it and im not irish

  • listen to the dubliners! thats WAY better!!!!!

  • just terrible

  • First time I could understand the words and I just tried to listen to it on a Dubliner's vid. Great effort

  • i am not irish, but i like this song and this girl

  • Straight sacrilage. It is like having a heavy metal band play God Bless America with screeching guitar solos...the rhythmic change is fine, but the melody was COMPLETELY butchered. This is a complete assult on my ears. Why would you do this to such a great song? You don't change a folk song like that...it's what makes it a folk song! The melody needs to remain intact!

  • This is the equivilant to the Justin Bieber singing songs by Slayer.

  • This song isn't meant to be sung like this. I couldn't get through the first verse before shutting it off. Listen to the original. Feel the emotion in the man's voice. Relisten to this one. Feel the falseness of it all. Good voice and all, wrong song choice.

  • @Fatkeed You are 100% correct about this butchering of Molly Malone. Change a pop song, but not a folk song. It's complete sacrilage.

  • Nice, but I still like the Dubliners much more :D

  • All of the haters should really try another profession. This version is musically sound. Sorry if you want nothing but jigs and reels. Lighten up and try to enjoy life for a change..lest your life becomes so narrow you suffocate.

  • My enghish homework was to learn the song and thanx to her i learnt it imediatelly`^.^

  • This is fucking terrible.

  • Great this is!

  • her ghost!!

  • I'm old school, however you have done fantastic work with a "today's version" of this Irish classic. I applaud you!

  • the 2nd time i heard this, first time i hated it and 2nd time i liked it, good take on a quality song

  • Don't like this version, but girl's eyes have stunned me xD

  • OH MAN THAT CHICK S HOT!!!

    (sorry just couldn't resist...)

  • @SwissCheese667 ok-...

  • I am also Irish and i think that this is a fantastic version of one of the oldest Irish songs - that is still a popular song today !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this ruins the feeling of the song by turning into a pop version now the dubliners that a great version

  • your the best at molly malone do u think xox

  • Best version ever!

  • Oh wow! amazing contemporary version of this tradition Irish song! You surprised me! I can't stop replaying this! Thank you for this version :) x

  • I LOOVE your voice how come your not famous????? :):):) xxxxxxxxxx

  • I think when an innocent remake can polarize the audience so effectively, you've got something. Being able to create a near-perfect reverse bell-curve on likes and dislikes is very impressive. Just stay on course, and always remember that extreme criticism AND extreme praise both are spawns of the confederacy of dunces with which we must all suffer. I'll give you a thumbs-up, but not digitally (pun intended), for I wish to remain a dissident among said tribe. To translate: "I got nothing."

  • don't change a classic

  • i'm part irish

  • Omg I love her voice, this version is so cheerful! *-*

  • this is rubbish! The worst version ever!

  • this is a good version i like this thumbs up if u like this :)

  • I like that they took this on. I like the voices and the simplicity.. But. But, this is a song about the death of a poor fishmonger's daughter. I feel no pathos or empathy with this version. The Death of Molly Malone is a sad song. A sad tale of poverty and lack of care in an Ireland full of all that. I like the version but Molly deserves more passion.

  • I feel like maybe having the cameraman do something besides extreme closeups on the girl's face or the guitar would have spiced up the video a tad

  • I think some of y'all need to lighten up a bit. They took a traditional song and had fun with it, perhaps appealing to someone who has never heard it before. Folk songs are not static; I can well imagine that whoever wrote this song might be appalled at the Dubliners' version...

Many a time have I heard a version of an old song that I had never heard before...and then I searched out all the versions I could find.

  • @Flint3162 ur gay

  • BeSt

  • Love this version but I'm American Irish...and we americans are radicals with Irish roots. So mea culpa to anyone who feels the need to deprive us of our heritage and what we've done with it through nothing less than natural progression.

  • I hope they're kidding...It hears like teletubbies's version

  • Complete and utter crap.

  • Comment removed

  • Somewhere the dubliners are crying themselves to sleep.

  • @MVistocchi Good

  • @MVistocchi Not if they looked at the video!

  • im not irish and this version sucks d

  • different...but sweet just the same..

  • the performance is ok but she have ruined the most traditional irish song in history.

  • This is the version I am teaching my grandchildren!

  • that song is terrible !!!

  • There is absolutely nothing wrong with your singing or music but you choose the wrong song. Make your own songs. Try it. Good luck.

  • Stopped watching at @0:13

  • @slammusaran wow you wrote hate pretty quick then mate

  • @slammusaran you missed it

  • Gorgeous sond and woman

  • great in its own way nicce song

  • This song is great! Everyone that says this song is terrible hasn't got a clue what they're talking about.

  • This is like the New Kids on the Block singing a Dropkick Murphy's song it %$#@&^$ SUCKS. How dare anyone make a mochary of The Dubliners.

  • This is shit and wreaking the traditional song! your a good singer but u just wreaked this song!

  • This isn't about ruining the tradition of the song. I'm all for covering songs in your own unique way. But this cover is just bad. If this were a different song with different lyrics, I still wouldn't like it because it would just be a bad song.

  • awful!

  • No... just no.

  • @XxiloveGWxX haha

  • Very good version,.great voice and a cute girl;)

  • I like the idea if attempting to renew the song but she did not do that great to hold on to the tradition of the song... so i dislike this version.

  • its alright but i prefer the orgional version of this song but this is good too

the woman singing it has a great voice

  • I have to disagree with ciarbanana1 , ruined NO WAY , A new way, yes. Loved it, loved to hear more

  • yo you are really REALLY cute!!! =] This wasn't bad i like the original better but i was so distracted by your beauty that i didn't mind it lol

  • i really like this version, and yes i'm Irish i like both the original and this version well done :)

  • Sorry, I don't like it.

I admire anyone willing to be original, but I really like the original.

  • @seadawg93 You did not hear the song a 150 years ago? (NO) You did not hear the original. Are you stupid?

  • @TheMaximumoverload

Why do you take it so personally that I didn't like it?

Also, why are you being rude to me, considering that I made it clear that it was my own personal opinion? If you feel the need to respond in such a manner why not do it to the people who were actually rude and/or mean in the first place?

Lastly, do you have some reason for believing that the standard acepted version of the song is not the original, or did you just feel like attacking someone's post?
