You know what's funny with this film.. When you think about it.. jake starts off paralized yeh.. but with all the things he does in his Avatar.. it would make you think his also set out to injure himself as well.. sorry i just had to say that.. but i saodre this movie!! lol comes out on DVD and Blue Ray on the 29th of Apirl.. i know what im getting to my birthday.. and who care if it will be two says late =P I LOVE THIS MOVIE I WISH I WAS ONE OF THE NA'VI !!!!!!!!!!

The film was shot in an aspect ratio of 1:78:1. That means for standard tv's as well and widescreen tv's, the picture will fill most of the screen for the dvd release and all of the screen for blu-ray.

Anyone esle realize that this entire clip is CGI? The only thing real is the motion-capture, and performance capture (microcamera pointed at the actor's face)!

AVATAR is a major stride forward in SPFX, and the story has never been told better, with the best love-story since THE TERMINATOR, and TITANIC.

@klb084 I think I heard a bit of King Kong in there too (more specifically the 76' one). Cameron once described the Thanator as being a creature that could eat a T-Rex for breakfast or something, maybe he wanted to emphasise that by making it sound like it too, lol! The Direhorses also sounded just like the Raptors from JP, not sure why though. It certainly doesn't ruin the movie, but its an interesting observation. There were plenty of new sound mixes in the film regardless.

I understand all the work that goes into something like this, don't get me wrong. It is realistic. I'm just saying I had higher hopes. And as for films with special effects?  They are my favorite films! Transformers is my all time favorite, which I believe has just as real if not more real effects than this. I love I, Robot, King Kong, and The Matrix. I'm just saying, this film was supposed to be the best of the best in special effects. And to me, it's very good, but it's not mindblowing.

uh, no. I don't care for critics. There are 2 newspapers in my city, one gave the film 2 and a half stars, while the other gave it 4 stars. It's subjective. The movie is an action film, not a thought provoking drama. Comparing this to a film as bad as rotf is an insult.
