  • That black gunk could be elements with the atomic weight of 80 or above...these units can cause the transmutation of elements. I know this is true using Nickle, but SS has nickle in it. You might try and capture a high concentration of the black goo using your magnets and have it tested. You might find it has many valuable elements in it.

  • Glad to hear the plates look good, I'll wait to see the video... now if we can just find a 30 hr day... we'd be all set huh?

  • I bet you're going to find some more strangeness inside the cell when you get her opened up... Now that will be interesting. hope the plates are all intact...

  • @rapttor94 I have opened it up. I also have a video prepared to upluad but just haven't had a spare second to finish it and get it uploaded. I am actually glad that the black stuff showed up and had to tear it down. I have found several gas leaks that bneeded attention. The plates look great.

  • @HHOPWR - I can't wait to see the new vid...

  • Sure makes me wonder about the plates. There just isn't that much Fe in 316L.

Also makes me wonder about the high grade nickle plates.

thank you so much for all the hard work you put into your cells, testing and sharing it with us.

    You Rock, Larry.

    Peace.

    mike.

  • Larry,

This is what is happening to my reactor. @najman100 is right about the high concentration of KOH being corrosive. It's sh__ tons of iron! Disassemble, clean and passivate to hell!

  • You pulled the Fe out of solution when you rinsed with tap water.

  • I don't know where you get all the energy from Larry, I would have lost the will to live long ago - surely this rebuild will go well?

    Jim

  • @reeseht Jum, It is easy to find the determination to continue. There is more here than we know about. The fun is finding it.

    Larry

  • Is that J B weld I see on the bubblers, if it is it's magnetic.

    Gary

  • @llewgnal No Gary, That is just teflon paste. No JB Weld used.

    Larry

  • Larry if you want to blast again please use glass beads ,do not use aluminum oxide it is possible that when blasting you have plated the plates by impact at a microscopic level and when you hit that high concentration of koh it acted as a strong acid and removed the small particles ,or on another side these are impurities from the koh .

  • @najman100 The only problem with that theory is that Aluminum is not magnetic.

    Latty

  • I don't understand why you used 'super strong' KOH.

NASA uses the maximum KOH for life and death production of Oxygen.

If you want to experiment with use other concentrations, why risk the beastie?

I suggest hat you usse a single cell for the experiment.

    Larry, you work too hard!

  • @Boyntonstu the guy is an animal isnt he!!! rock on LArry.

  • Micron iron oxide clumped into big pieces? If so that would be interesting.

  • @d3adp001 I am in the middle of the tear down. This video was shot a few days ago. I finally just got the chance to upload it. Wait until you see the plates! Puzzling coloring but the plates look great.

    Larry

  • @HHOPWR ok now I am excited. I cant wait to see the difference in pos vs neg plates.
