@herms999 the engines do not make "that" big of a difference. Its only a couple MPH at TOP speed. Not that drastic. Its because the brawn car had so much more downforce versus the competition. If you watch he takes the last corner flat out in a shorter line allowing him to get a better tow. Just a much better car.

@Rollaattorimummo Actually, Brawn was really only the best team for the first half of 2009 because they were exploiting a rule that other teams hadn't taken advantage of yet (split diffuser). Once the other teams developed the same feature, Brawn became a mediocre team and Jenson Button barely held on to his championship in the end which he basically won in the first 7 races. Mercedes GP sucks because they don't have a secret trick this time.

@Rollaattorimummo i find this interesting... ross said this about the time to develop the car etc, but, during '09 season he was saying they'd already started on it and were in a position of being able to optimise things like engine installation, which they couldn't do with the brawn car, so it should be even more better. Except it wasn't, so out come the excuses, 'cos he could say "we're still honda y'know, we just got lucky last year"!!

@Rollaattorimummo it wasn't that merc didn't have time, more that brawn gp spent alot of thier money trying to win the 2009 championship and as a result the design of the 2010 car was conservative and limited as it was designed whilst the team was still brawn gp with little money, so really 2009 was honda's car and 2010 was brawn gp's car, 2011 will be a merc, then we can judge how good they are.

@Rollaattorimummo no the reason is that as brawn gp was the team honda, and honda really never was among the fastest teams, so when honda went out of the series brawn bought it. therefore they had heaps of time to develop their car, unlike other teams. that's why they were the fastest team for the first half of the 2009 season. mercedes is basicly the old honda, if they weren't among the fastest then why would they be now?

Those of us who actually watched the race will remember that Webber had technical problems the whole outlap. He lost three positions on the one lap because of the electrical problem. So Barrichello's move doesn't seem quite as good as you fanboys want it to be. Sucks to be wrong, doesn't it?
