Brennan began his career in a west coast offense(high school), played it his first year of college. Then played the run and shoot. So Brennan isn't really a system QB. His foundation is west coast and he just learned to play the run and gun to its fullest.

Both are in the system that is perfect for them but Tebow would still be a fine qb in the run and shoot.

Brennan was the most accurate quarterback in america this season. To be able to throw it near 70% and throw it 40+ times a game is impressive... no matter who you play. Brennan will be drafted and will have a chance to be a starter in the NFl in 3 or 4 years after getting adjusted to the speed of the NFL.

schedule has nothing to do with actual accuracy. georgias pass rush was phenomenal and exposed hawaiis o-line brennan had 0 time to throw. tom brady wouldnt have been able to make ne plays with less than 2 seconds to throw the football. georgias a much better team but Brennan's performance was affected greatly by his offensive line playing awful. It is extremely rare to see an over/under throw or a ball thrown behind a reciever. His accuracy is what makes him great.

I went to UF and graduated from there, but im not gonna show bias here. Tim Tebow wont be a great QB in the NFL, he cant out run and run over linebackers in the NFL like he can in the college game. Jared Lorenzen may have been #2 because there was no else really to back up Eli. This is why NYG got Carr and dumped Lorenzen -who is not on any NFL roster. Tebow is a good athlete, and he too is in a "system" that is not a traditional pro-style offense. Will Tebow have what it takes to become a good NFL quarterback? No one knows until he actually plays for a team. As for his stats, they are padded -many times calling his own number inside the 5- but he did play hard and earned them.

Lastly, you don't seem to comprehend that Florida played with a very weak defense last season as well. In fact, nearly all their starting players were freshmen and sophomores. They had very few seniors on that team. This season, most are sophomores and juniors. So last season as a TEAM was more of a building year. The last I checked, the Heisman isn't given out to a team. NOBODY has EVER had 20 passing and 20 rushing TDs in one season. For a RB, 20 is GREAT. Get a clue.

tebow is a system QB just like 75% of college quarterbacks. its not necessarily a bad thing. who can really say that Tebow isn't good. Its obvious he is great. system does not necessarily mean bad. a spread offense is going to have a system qb, its as simple as that. a spread is a system and a QB on that team should correctly be labeled a "System QB". Pat White, Dennis Dixon, Troy Smith, Tim Tebow, Colt Brennan all system QB's. Also all very good QB's. system does not = bad.

Give June Jones props, he can make something out of nothing with smaller conference teams, which I happen to think is a good thing. Little teams like Boise State beating Oklahoma is what makes college football superior to the pros. Is it me or does SEC fans just want to knock on weaker conferences and not let them have a moment to shine? Lets go SMU and bring the Pony Express back baby!

As for Brennan, he's been exposed...having a terrible week at the Senior Bowl...small frame, popgun arm, etc...best player in the country my ass. If they truly gave the Heisman to the best "player" then it should have gone to Glenn Dorsey or Sedrick Ellis.

I do agree that Dorsey and Ellis were probably the two best overall players. But you have to remember that realistically that the Heisman is essentially an offensive award.

Tebow is definately a system QB. He can only work in Urban's spread offense. Nothing else. He is a great QB tho.
Brennan began his career in a west coast offense(high school), played it his first year of college. Then played the run and shoot. So Brennan isn't really a system QB. His foundation is west coast and he just learned to play the run and gun to its fullest.

Tebow in Hawaii's offense > Brennan in Florida's offense.
Both are in the system that is perfect for them but Tebow would still be a fine qb in the run and shoot.
Brennan at Florida would be like Chris Leak was in his first year there. They would have no running game whatsoever, and while that might work in the WAC, it doesn't in the SEC.
The true perfect fit, would have been Chris Leak in Hawaii's system. Talk about accuracy,Leak was 64/65 in his pro day and the only incompletion was a drop

Brennan was the most accurate quarterback in america this season. To be able to throw it near 70% and throw it 40+ times a game is impressive... no matter who you play. Brennan will be drafted and will have a chance to be a starter in the NFl in 3 or 4 years after getting adjusted to the speed of the NFL.

brennan is good but dont say tebow isnt. brennan averages the stats that he does because he plays weak ass defenses and brennan got exposed against a good defense in georgia. tebow does better as a player than brennan does, and tebow does it against 100 times tougher the competition. tebow is better than brennan and you know it and georgia showed brennan why he isnt better than tebow.

schedule has nothing to do with actual accuracy. georgias pass rush was phenomenal and exposed hawaiis o-line brennan had 0 time to throw. tom brady wouldnt have been able to make ne plays with less than 2 seconds to throw the football. georgias a much better team but Brennan's performance was affected greatly by his offensive line playing awful. It is extremely rare to see an over/under throw or a ball thrown behind a reciever. His accuracy is what makes him great.

listen, these are my 2 favorite qb's in college football. they're both great. but we're talking about going pro and who's going to be better. Both play in spread offenses. but hawaii has the ultimate, extreme spread offenses. I love colt brennan but i think he wouldnt be able to go in a pro offense like the raiders or colts. he doesnt have quite the zip on his throws. i could see tim tebow going into ANY offense in the nfl, except for maybe the real soft west coast offense like 49ers.

bucnboltfan, you don't know what you're talking about. tebow only throws 15-20 times a game. colt throws about 50 times a game. that's a lot more. oh yeah, and colt has a 71% completion rating including 84% against washington who played the toughest schedule in the country. so how's about that stat for you.

... does no one think that he would be a better full back with an option pass? i think that the gators have such talent at WR that they are really limiting their game with this type of QB ... and maybe that's why they're not in a national championship game this year. it's one thing to only throw when someone is wide open and not being able to throw the more difficult passes .... i'm not for either QB but at least I can notice these things ...

gogatorz look, tebow only throws 20-30 passes a game. colt throws at least 50. it tebow threw that much, his passing efficiency would probably go down. also, according to your stats, 15-22 passes gives tebow a 68% completion rating and colt's 42-50 passes gives colt an 84% completion rating.

Washington beat Cal, Cal beat Oregon (with dixon) so Hawaii logically can compete with the big boys. Look at CBrennan highlights or even an entire game,Brennan usually always reads a blits and so does his WR.He releases in lease than 2 secs; usually left screen pass.And 70% of the time 1st down.Research Research Research!!!

If you have access to the clips of Hawaii's game,he usually releases his ball in 2 secs.Most of his game is short passes and surprises you with the long bomb when least expected.Hawaii has 3 awesome WR(ranked among top 25)CBren will find an open man 70% of his release.Hawaii will make 1st down 70% of the time.Georgia will run the ball with ease in 1st half.But the running game will wear down like Wash.Georgia will also try to run the clock to keep CBrenna out of the game.

Colt also did what Pat White, Darren McFadden, AND Tim Tebow couldn't do: help his team to an undefeated season. notice i didn't say LEAD, i said HELP. colt is an unselfish guy who doesn't take call the credit. once someone gives him credit, he immediately shares it with his teammates. he's so unselfish, he asked WAC Commissioner Karl Benson if he can create an award called "Top Offensive Unit in the WAC", given to all the members of the hawaii offense.

I say it's the system Florida uses that makes Tebow sucessful. It's almost a copy-cat offense of the Texas spread/option with Vince Young. I don't think Tebow is even close to Wuerffel. Experts say Tebow should win it because he did something no one else has done, 20TDs rushing & 20 TDs passing. Well then again no one has ever had 63 TDs in a single season either (Brennan).
