  • ¡¡¡Bravo!!!

  • i think this man have no balls...

  • eccezionale!non so dire altro.

  • Hypnotic sweet voice!

  • Such a beautiful voice. I know people are focusing on the more technical side of his ability, but just for one second listen to it as an expression of emotion, rather than a boast of virtuosity.

    It's ethereal.

  • Bravo! AV

  • With the greatest respect, he sounds like a soubrette. Such a light timbre and so natural sounding. His lower notes sound beautiful. I would really like to hear him live.

  • Days and weeks passing by, I come back again and again to this soulsoothing piece of heaven. Thank you, Radu, for being with us. Thank you, Maria, for sharing.

  • Opppps, forgot, the violinist was also at his best!!

  • Years of intense work, and so much more beautiful than the older version on the youtube. Thank you--exquisite.

  • Very nice. Would anyone here say that he has a bright tone? The reason I ask is that my vocal coach is trying to get me away from singing with a bright tone.

    chris

  • most prob you have a diff voice type? hahaha he is, after all a true endocrinological soprano, therefore will have a quite pure and bright, natural soprano voice, as opposed to the conventional countertenor.

  • @Jkove Thank you! That is what I wanted to know. My voice never broke in my teen years and I have always had a bright tone (I haven't done anything to change it, not counting age and getting older). I am not a endocrinological soprano (well I don't think I am or would know how to test for it) but I have always been able to sing soprano.

  • this is a "natural" type of sonority and resonance he gets because if you listen closely he does not sounds like a female soprano and MORE like a boy TREBLE as you know children will tend to produce their notes of limited color and more of one dynamic bu tit will be very ETHEREAL and purest brilliance, angelic resplendent timbre the reason for the castrato craze they were trying to preserve this very effect.

  • When a lower tessitura singer sings 'on the cords' u can somewhat force or produce a brighter tone, which is called 'metal' or adding that shrill, iron 'shiny sheen' persay; that is different. This man has larger resonators and sinuses which amplify the sonority of his treble larynx, and give off the impression that the tone is all too white or 'bright' because obviously it is of a rare phenonmen rarely witness sinced the days of the golden age of castrati;

  • @whistlenotelover I am curious how you would know if he has a treble larynx. His larynx would have grown as he went into adulthood. Some have said I have a white tone or I am too bright. Been working on sounding more dark which is hard for me to do at times.

  • by the way this man's voice is closer to the real castrati than Michael Maniaci, Michael has even admitted his voice PARTIALLY dropped during puberty, which is why his voice is thicker, lower, and darker than Radu's MODAL produced voice, which sits slightly higher still than Maniaci's.

  • @whistlenotelover My voice never broke or dropped when I went through puberty. I have a very high placed speaking voice for many years until age set in and now my voice sounds lower. I can still sing very high notes but it is all different that when I was young. I suspect that is what happened even to Farinelli as he has been attributed to singing down into the lower tenor areas (Tenor low C) but still retaining his high notes.

  • @whistlenotelover Ive heard Mancini speak and his voice sounds like an adult child. Both very impressive but Id like to hear Radu's speaking voice to make an informed decision to who has best "castrati" voice...

  • Thank you so much for sharing. I can´t add anything to velvetcaress´s post. It is wonderful.

  • I just have to add that Radu sings this with much warmth and tenderness. It's a very beautiful rendition that he must feel quite proud of. :-)

  • Wonderful! I've been waiting so long to see/hear more of Radu. Joyous!! :-) Thank you.

  • Bravo ! Thank you for posting. For those of us who have not had the pleasure of hearing Radu Marian in person, hearing and seeing a video is the next best experience. Saved to favourites.

  • @sfkcbf so u have heard him live? do tell!!
