  • animal like scream?...

  • Why do we need this extreme close-up of her face? It's so awkward...

I mean, her story is fascinating, and I'm glad she's okay. But the camera pan is just so weird.

  • I really like how she ended this.

It's not the sharks fault you moved in on its territory. You just can't put yourself in danger.

  • Her friends are like, "so sorry, but no way are we diving in to save your ass!"

  • Isn't it great when your in the water with a shark biting you and your friends are just standing there whatching. yup good friends they are, probably letting her have some alone time with the shark lol

  • how the hell could she get into a hospital and get a 6 h operation in the middle of the south pacific ocean ???

  • and it could come back and geeet me ageeeen!

  • so wait.... you hit/punch a shark on the nose for it to let you go???? (just curious)

  • 0:36 you are in water . . .

  • They only testbite when they encounter you to see if you're edible

  • @underworldluver omg i mean deep like this girl

  • Australian, Kiwi and South African chicks sound sexy...

  • most sharks are not man eaters but they will attack or kill people i do not know are many sharks attacks that we have so far right now?!

  • @redskinsgirl2011 60 attack reports a year? and maybe 5 fatal?(fatal because the bloodloss and not because the shark tore the vicitim apart)

  • Instead of thinking, "I HAVE TO GET OUT OF THE WATER" you should have thought, "I'M NOT GOING IN THE WATER, THERE'S SHARKS IN THERE." (Fucking dumb ass.)

  • shes not american ur dump......like, im not ...we always going to have accent,,,,

  • jesus christ usally i dont mind accents but her's make me want to put a desert eagle in my mouth

  • @SephirothgeneX7 Give her a break you lot, she's from New Zealand, some people in the world speak like that!

  • So it IS true, a good old bop on the nose makes the shark let go!

  • Tigershark?

  • @MrMAndiG I was thinking Great White because she said it attacked from below.

  • @charlotte13victoria And tiger sharks don't attack from below? I was thinking it is a tiger because it happened in a tropical bay of Vanuatu. Great whites usually live in cold waters (like Guadalupe Island, Rhode Island or Cape Town), don't they? Anyway, I've no idea of sharks, they're quite rare in my country ;-)

  • @MrMAndiG I don't know much about sharks either :/ I do know that Great Whites are characteristic for their ambush-like attacks though - charging and attacking from below. It very well could be any shark, though.

  • owowowowwowowowoowowowowowowowwo leg cramp

  • Its not the sharks who to be blamed its human why do they swim somewhere were are no people and isn’t a beach? Well yeah they eat people (meat) but so do we why dose everyone hate sharks if they are doing the same thing with animals? People are dome!

I think people are monsters just like cute smexy shark

  • " she still remains an active swimmer"

OH THATS RIGHT INSTEAD OF USING A LOCAL SWIMMING POOL I KNOW IL GO INTO THE OCEAN WHERE I KNOW THERE IS LOADS OF MAN EATING ANIMALS THAT SEEMS LIKE A GOOD IDEA

    SPACKER!!!!!!

  • "oh yeah i got bitten by a sharka dn I STILL swim cuz its not the sharks '"fault"

  • Sharks do not attack out of malice, most people assume they do because of movies such as Jaws. They are not mindless eating machines. If they were, everyone in the water would be taken. Equally, they do not exhibit human based emotional behavior. We must stop anthropomorphizing shark behavior. You enter the forest you become exposed to their possible territory. As well, if you go swimming in the ocean, facing a shark attack is a frightening, although fairly rare event.

  • @Straxus69

Malice is a uniquely higher order mammal behavioral trait (human, chimp, orca). Sharks attack people and other prey items to feed themselves. They are very aggressive predators. I find it ironic that you assert "we must stop anthropomorphizing shark behavior" but then claim sharks are not "mindless eating machines." Tell me, how would conceptualize their species-specific adaptations as it realtes to their ecological niche? What else does a Tiger shark do? Explain.

  • Conspicuously, the vast majority of White shark attacks on humans do NOT resemble the ambush attacks on seals, thereby casting further doubt on such the dubious"mistaken idenity" theory. Tell me, if a shark bumps a human, bites down and tastes him/her, what use is your silly "mistaken identity" theory? The shark fed on a human in any event. Perhaps you can youtube search "shark takes woman's leg" and reconcile your fanciful sociobiological thoughts with the actual data. Or find Lloyd Skinner.

  • NIGHTMARE TIME

  • weak

  • shut up you freaking austrailians got poo on yourselfs

  • loose some weight BITCH

  • i think sharks are almost blind SO! it's not there fault sharks think humans are seals or fish you stupid idiots!

  • aeend eet could come beek and geet me ageean. but he couldn't help mee up cause i was to heeeeeeevy

  • @nbaballer230 LOL ! aw .

  • @nbaballer230 ahahhahahaha

  • @thaunlockerz maybe she's from england

  • @symplynicky shes austrailian

  • Whenever people say "It could come back again" makes me wonder...The shark could probally kill you right then and there so why would it leave then come back. You should probally say "I was very woried because i was bleeding allot and that could attract more sharks".

  • lol. she cant talk normal

  • a shark is harmless but if it mistakes you as prey your a goner

  • I live by the ocean and I don't swim in it for more reasons than sharks, but the threat of sharks is good enough to keep me in the shallows.

  • I hate that axsent

  • when you go into the ocean......... you are going into the sharks territory sooo its your mistake..... your risking your life...... its their instinct to attack soo they are NOT making a mistake. YOU ARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @4evateardrops3 ill tell you why people can go into the ocean because its all for emself you can go but you need to defend yourself like a shark would which is almost impossible its no ones mistake its life

  • horra? o thought it is horror

  • @metalldude91 its called an accent.

  • @heyyshelbywashere even if it's called accent they should try speak proper english

  • Lucky girl.

  • Avoid shark attacks by not swimming in oceans.

  • @ThatsMrMoronToYou

Avoid lightening by not stepping outside.

...really.... It's kind of unreasonable to just NEVER go somewhere/NEVER do something because the outcome has the tinniest chance of ending badly.

  • @skipperrox99 Not so unreasonable. I'm landlocked in Minnesota. There's Lake Superior, which doesn't get warm enough to swim in until September if we're lucky, and if there's a storm abrewin' we avoid it. With my luck, I would be the one person in the thousands of swimmers at the beach that the shark decides to take a bite out of. I think I'll stick to lakes and rivers(but not rivers connected to the ocean)where the only danger is stepping on a fish hook.

  • @ThatsMrMoronToYou

    Well, i suppose that's you.

If i were granted the opportunity to swim in the ocean, i would. I wouldn't

pass it it up in fear of getting attacked by a shark (i got more chance of winning the lottery...)

  • @ThatsMrMoronToYou i totally agree

  • wow liked but sad

  • just her scream alone, will give me night mares ...

  • i love her accent. i know this isn't about this shark debate but i just love how she says ageen instead of again

  • :O omg

  • animals are unable to communicate with each other, let alone with humans (for all we know) they can't saay, oh get out of my territory before i attack!

they can't warn, it's in their nature to attack but it's not our nature to just go on a killing spree because of a handful attacks (give or take more)

yes, we kill for me, but are we really supposed to kill for justice?

  • what the hell are you going on about? Most animals don't do anything else but communicate! Lots of birds communicate with eachother all the time and plenty of animals will warn before they attack, even notorious killers like bears or crocs protecting their eggs. Predatory attacks yes, but territorial attacks are almost always with a warning. Perhaps you are too poor a biologist to see the warning though...

  • good point but some animals can. rattle snakes =]

  • @SaveSharks16 Are you retarded? The Rattlesnakes's rattle's purpose is to warn and scare away predators. A dog's bark or growl is used to fend of other animals from it's territory. A dog's urine is not only used to mark it's territory but to scare of other male dogs.

  • @SaveSharks16 Just cos animals cannot speak doesn't mean they can't communicate you douche bag. Body language and gestures = communication.

  • i have to applaud this woman! she has the right idea! we are invaiding the sea animals territory every single time we enter the water, yet some humans are to mentally challenged to realized that

  • That woman screamed like she just sniffed COCAINE!

  • @ForEverCocaine Really how much do you want people to buy that junk D : I

  • what amazes me is how selective some people are about these things,if a pitbull bites someone on land

(THEIR TERRITORY)everyone is outraged and the dog is destroyed, but a shark bites and aimost kills somone and people cant wait to jump to the sharks defence...anyone who thinks that sharks dont know what they are doing when they bite humans must be a fool, they are far more inteligent than you give them credit for.

  • U can hardly call "land" the pitbulls territory. Unless the pitbull is roaming the wild on its own. The difference between sharks and a dog is that We also live on the land and we are the dominant species, where as in the water the shark is the dominant species. We entered its house, its an animal its hungry its not attacking just for the hell of it its attackign for food. You can hardly say that if a pitbull bit you it was trying to eat you know could u?

  • of course you can call land the pitbulls territory,by definition alone it is a "land mammal" as are tigers.bears, lions, cougars, all of wich would be destroyed for killing a human,so why should a shark be treated any different?as for who is the dominant species,,humans are the dominant species on the entire planet, not just the land,

  • Point im getting at is that pitbulls were domesticated to be kept as pets, clearly sharks were not hence why i was saying unless the pitbull was roaming around on its own. And yes a tiger, bear, lion cougar etc would all probably be killed for killing a human but i dont agree with that either, we chose to venture into their natural habitat its a risk that you choose to take. What about at rivers where they say dont swim becuase of crocodiles and sum1 goes in and gets eaten by a croc?

  • is it the crocs fault that u went swimming in its home when u were clearly warned? Its the way nature works

  • you dont seem to be able to accept your own point..if a croc..or shark or whatever animal is justified in harming or killing a human because they are in its territory or threatning it,then are humans not allowed the same courtesy??if an animal poses a real threat to a person can they not take action to protect themselves?absolutely they can! the laws of nature favour the dominant species, and you may not like it ,but that is us..

  • Like lets say right then and there a shark was attacking you then alright i could probably justifiy killing that animal to save a human life, but if the animal has already made the kill then u go after it a few days later to "make sure it doesnt happen again" at that time she animal isnt doing anything. It was acting on instinct who are we to judge that?

  • any time a shark,(or any other animal for that matter)shows a willingness to attack, kill or eat a human being, the likelihood of that animal doing it again rises exponentialy, the shark may not be doing it at the time you catch up with it,but who is to say that animal will not kill a dozen more people down the track? would you like to tell the families of those people killing the animal wasnt justified?

  • to be honest yes i would like to tell the families that it wasnt justified. We dont even kill humans that murder people in australia who have the time to plan things out and think about exactly what they want to do. It may sound insensitive but its time the human race started respecting nature for the force it is

  • @aussiebulldog1

i see where you're coming from but just because ONE shark kills a human which RARELY happens, do you think it's justified to kill ALL sharks just because one of incident?

so let's say one black man kills another person but they don't know who did it, does that mean it's justified for people to go around killing blacks just because of something one black person did?

  • no..that is not in any way justified,,but it is justified to hunt down that one black man (or white man for that matter),and make him pay for what he did,,and i think the same should apply to a shark....if one man kills another in his back yard,,we dont say that it is ok because he was in his territory do we????i know that we cant hold an animal in the same regard that we do a human,,and i know that some humans are worse than animals, but people should be able to feel safe in any enviroment.

  • "people should be able to feel safe in any enviroment. "

    that's where you're wrong

we do not own the world, incase you didn't notice. we can't just walk into any environment and expect to be safe,

so you're saying if we walk into a jungle with wild lions, tigers and so on so forth, we're just EXPECTED to be safe because we're humans?

uhh hello, OBVIOUSLY, like i said before, just lke any other animal OR human would do if a stranger invaids their territory, defend their territory

  • are you intentionally trying to ignore the points that i am making so that you can just rant on about nothing?at no point did i say that humans should EXPECT to be safe in any enviroment!!!!,i said we should be able to! and if that means removing any serious threat to human life...so be it,,,and as for us owning the world...well as the dominant species on this planet,,,if we chose to do so humans have the capacity to eradicate any threat...so yes,we do own the world!!!

  • We own the world? What kinda fucked up statement is that. With this one statement all your points are now invalid becuase you have shown what an absolute idiot you are. Humans may be the "dominant" species on this planet through the aid of tools etc but if you take away all our technological advances the human species is weak.

  • @poogenius That's a retarded statement. The tools that we create make us what we are. That's just like saying that if you take the shark's teeth away it's not the most lethal animal in the sea. Our superior cognitive and intuitive abilities make us the dominant species on the planet. Evolution gave us the brain to survive whilst our bodies are weak, that's what separates us from the rest of the animal kingdom.

  • the only things animals can do is attack and if and once they realize they made a mistake and attacked the wrong person, what are they going to be lke, find that person and be like, oh sorry for biting you

OF COURSE NOT, they're gonna be like, well tough luck! you should have known that i was going to be here

  • "the only things animals can do is attack"????!!!!!....what the hell kind of statement is that?? are you seriously trying to say that animals only have tha capacity for violence? if that is the case then you have just made my entire point for me,in such a way as i would never have done...it is quite clear to me now that i am having a debate with someone who has the mental capacity of a carrot!!!so i wont reply to any of your asinine comments any more...!!!!

  • Why do you talk about sharks "making a mistake" by attacking/eating a human? All man-eating sharks are GENERALIST feeders. By definition, they do not "make mistakes" when feeding on known prey items. As for your nonsense about sharks attacking out of "territorial response", that is poppycock. Sharks are nomadic, not territorial. They invest zero paternal care. What are they trying to "protect" by attacking a human? This kind of speculative nonsense is better suited to children's books.

  • @kmkfiction2 Finally someone making a reasonable comment. Man some people are real retards.

  • The means of conditioning (e.g., sharks are "misunderstood" and "do not ever want to eat humans") that is dispensed to achieve the end (i.e., conservation) is the root cause of a lot of substantial ignorance. Understanding why a shark attacks and eats a person (e.g., hunger) is not mutually exclusive with conservation. Try to explain this to a conditioned simpleton and their brains respond with "does not compute." LOL

  • @kmkfiction2 So correct you are.!, educate these so called experts.A shark is a shark and doing what it does/knows best.....being a shark

  • @kmkfiction2 i agree

  • @kmkfiction2 I dont think whoever you are replying to can understand those big words.

  • @kmkfiction2 wow you are so true. I mean what you said is completly fact. Good job, :)

  • @kmkfiction2 so what you say is that sharks are just some killing machines?

  • @pallypowerFTFW

That concept or designation is a human distinction. I "say" that pelagic sharks in the open ocean will kill and eat any edible, vulnerable prey item- whether an injured seal, a pig that was washed out to sea or a human that fell off a boat- as a dispassionate expression of their ecological niche, not unlike the hyena on the savannah or the crocodile in the Nile river. Besides breeding, tell me, what other behaviors- that is, other than killing- are sharks "programmed for"?

  • @kmkfiction2 cause then you are truly wrong, they mistake you for things like seals and dont attack you cause they know "thats a human, mmmm foood"

  • @pallypowerFTFW

Two things. First, humans and H. erectus have been around sharks for over 2,000,000 years. Surely you cannot credibly contend sharks "don't know what humans are" after a constant, unbroken course of dealing? Second, there is undisputed scientific evidence that sharks eat people- but there is zero scientific evidence that the sharks that have human flesh inside them "made a mistake" doing what these sharks have always been documented to do. I can prove my statements- you can't

  • @kmkfiction2 finally, someone with sense!..good post. its simple really.. theyll eat when they are hungry and prey is nearby. especially easy prey.

  • @kmkfiction2 Perhaps you should do more research... Try Sharkwaters, its a very informative documentary about a man who dedicated his entire LIFE to the studys of sharks, they explain the SCIENTIFIC reason as to why humans get attacked!

  • Comment removed

  • @nastaisha

btw, the scientific reason why sharks attack people is because of hunger. We are a naturally ocurring, 100% edible, seafaring primate. Sharkwater is about the need for conservation and their importance to the marine ecosystem. Nothing I write contravenes either sentiment. Most people like u disregard the simple scientific fact that sharks eat helpless humans as a function of their generalist feeder, ecol. niche. It is predictable and natural. "Mistaken identity" isnt science at all.

  • @kmkfiction2 maybe they just bite out of curiosity...

  • @kmkfiction2 Your a vagina.

  • @kmkfiction2 Sharks are curious creatures that tastes only, they don't eat humans, only take a taste if you say it like that and they don't like how human tastes :P and damn what an irritating accent she has ;P

  • @EvilVikingisDaniel

What happened to Lloyd Skinner? What about the guy eaten a few days ago at Reunion Island? After maritime disasters, e.g., the USS Indianapolis?

At some level, I wish what you're asserting was true, but there is no evidence to support it. Sharks eat humans every year, year after year, and will increasingly do so once marine resources get fished out or compromised by climate change and/or industrial pollution. Shouldn't surprise us if it happens, given the ecol. niche.

  • @kmkfiction2 If sharks really bites humans because we are tasty and they are hungry then more that have been bitten would be dead and more should have been attacked.

  • Oi aussie bulldog you never replied to my last comment? If it becuase i was right and u decided to pick on sum1 else? lol

  • @poogenius,

    LOVE YOU! :P

  • Well, I for one am not very apologetic when someone gets bitten by a domesticated shark because the owner is a moron who can't control it.

  • i know just what you mean...some "MORONS" cant even control the "CRAP" that comes out of their own mouths!!!!!!

  • Is it really clever to try and insult someone with a pet shark?

  • clever "AND" funny....

  • Any person who was ever attacked never said it was the sharks fault... So why can't people who never were attacked say the same?

  • @AngryPride if you would have paid attention to what the victim was saying, you would have noticed that she was explaining the exact opposite of what you're trying to demonstrate. " if you dive in a place that's well-known for sharks, it's not the shark's fault that you get attacked, it's the risk that you took going into the environment and putting yoursel in danger". No offence nor rudeness intended

  • IbuckFush is kinda right..sharks need to keep moving..if there heartbeat gets below a certain beat it dies, so really if it stops swimming it dies

  • are you kidding me? We all die if our heart stops. The reason sharks have to swim is different... Think about it, how do they breathe?

  • Additionally, sharks sink if they don't move, they lack a swim bladder.

  • Sharks definitely do NOT need exterminating. You say sharks are bad for biting and killing humans, but you are in THEIR territory and habitat, the ocean. People have such bad view of sharks because of the way they are shown in the media.. But sharks are just curious, they dont purposely attack. Most shark attacks are by mistaken identity. Even if a shark does want to attack, it gives you plenty of warning, i spearfish, and if a shark is territorial, it hunches its back. They dont need killing.

  • Wow

  • she defiantly was in shock thats for sure

  • Sharks don't actually eat people, there was no way that shark was coming back for her like in the movies. Sharks are curious creatures and if they see/smell something in their territory that they dont know then they WILL check it out. Unlike us they got no hands so the only way to feel something is through biting it. As soon as they realize u ain't no tasty fish they will let go and won't bother coming back anymore. The hit on the nose was a smart thing, its their most sensitive spot.

  • that doesnt make sense, she was being dragged down by a shark that was under her? since when do sharks swim backwards?

  • Good question. But maybe the shark could of been swimming down wards

  • "this huge thing from underneath had me"

    "the shark dragged me down"

  • Oh yes of course this woman is talking shit! lets all question her because some little internet know-it-all thinks something doesnt make sesne. alot doesnt make sense to you, you fucking idiot.

how about gravity puling them down you fucking idiot.

  • BAHAHAHA you called me a fucking idiot, then introduced GRAVITY as the reason they are being pulled under... where did the buoyancy go in the fish and the human? just magically disapeared because there is a shark attack?

  • yeah you are an idiot. the shark is able to control its own buoyancy.

  • You have to be one of the stupidest mother fuckers on youtube if you think a shark can lose its buoyancy and drop to the ocean floor like lead.

  • you have repeatedly proven how stupid you are in every one of your comments.

If a shark stops swimming, it sinks you fat fucking idiot!

  • oh really? if a shark stops swimming it no longer has the ability to take in water and breathe AKA it dies

  • A good kick in the nuts always does the trck when it coes down to killer sharks!

  • the end is here

  • Good advice she gives at the end, sharks live on this planet same as we do, and theres no dumbest predator than humans. Glad you made it lady
