Because it died... Apple credited me the amount I paid for the MacBook... I got the Pro because I wanted a dedicated graphics card. The integrated card on the MacBook was to weak for what I used my computer for!

Whether you're looking at gaming or "useful" apps it's probably what you're looking for. I've dualbooted mine with XP and it runs perfectly, even on graphically intensive games like NWN2.

If you do dualboot, make sure you keep track of the fans- duly warned.

Yeah... The reason it was sold as 'refurbished' was because there was a bad Ram dimm. They replaced it with a 2GB dimm... Since they once had a bad part in the computer they had to sell it as refurbished by law. Thats why apple refurbished units are just as good as a new unit...

Yeah... They tell you why. Mine was because they installed a bad ram dimm in it the first time. Caught it before it left the factory and put a new dimm in... Had to sell it as a refurb because it failed the initial diagnostics test!

Im looking to get a refurb 24 inch imac but i want an untouched unshipped piece...any way of finding out what happened to the imac and hopefully it was something they caught before they shipped it?? I can truthfully say the refurbished mac's never leave the factory. they are required to sell as refurbished if there was an issue with the initial diagnostic test! I have owned several refurbished macs and have been completely satisfied!

This is a refurbished macBook Pro.... The reason for the refurbishment was that there was a bad Ram dimm. When I ordered I ordered one with 2GB of Ram, but they replaced one of the 1GB dimms with a 2GB stick!

The MacBook Pro.... For me anyways! I need lots of power because I do live video streaming, and video editing, and graphic design! I personally would get a MacBook or MacBook Pro because the portability i very very nice!
