  • This is too frigging awesome! Got his mannerisms down to a tee! Highly reccomended!

  • Love Rob Bell. Love this.

"For every thirty people watching this 28 of you are eating a burrito right now. Look in your hand!"

  • Not an accurate portrayal of Bell's actual work, as most of the people commenting on this seem to think (it's interesting how little his critics know about what he really teaches), but this is still hilarious.

  • The Hebrew translation did it for me, I cracked up. There's a time for everything.

  • Now if others could see through the real Nooma videos and the danger to new Christians thinking that love gets them salvation, we'd be all set. Nice work on the spoof and guessing more hits are coming with the recent and past Rob Bell controversies.

  • rob bell is full of shit

  • genius!

  • jajaja look right there in your hands, there is a burrito... jajaja

  • If you like this video, two of the creators of this video have a blog you should check out: Stuff White Christians Like.

  • i wish i had a burrito right now. the other 28 of you are lucky.

  • haha, how cool is this. I think Rob Bell himself would like this :)

  • Wait a second...right at the end, in the bathroom. The camera pans down and you see shoes...it looks like he is sitting on a urinal!!!

  • Yess! Finland! And I.. do.. have.. a.. burrito in my hand!

  • you even got the blinking ;)

  • I love the idea that God is the tortilla that binds us :-)

Things might get messy on the inside, but a well wrapped burrito-munity keeps us together!

I'd like to see someone do a theological study into how Jesus and his disciples resembled mexican food!

    Top notch, five stars

  • Absolutely hilarious! I really enjoy the Nooma videos. This, however, is an outstanding spoof!

  • lol this is great.

  • spot on impression

    hilarious

  • I think you're missing the point here. This video is not mocking Rob Bell's message at all. It's a parody... and usually people parody things they like. I think Rob Bell would find this video hilarious. There's a famous quote "Imitation is the sincerest for of flattery"

  • That was brilliant. I'll never look at a Nooma video or a burrito the same way.

  • Good job guys. This was really funny. I'm sure Bell would laugh too. :-)

  • This was dang funny. I can totally appreciate Rob Bell because I get him. His words always make me think. But this was really hilarious. I love the sarcastic humor.

  • You people need to get of Robs back hes doing something that educates and all your doing is picking flaws if you dont think his videos are good make your own that educate you dont like his books write your own. Dont me liek people who complain about church but dont do anything themselves ...so unless and of you are actually going to try and do something positive instead of slagging your brother yea...your BROTHER Rob then just give it a rest ,,,,,,,,,,,

  • I think you took that WAY too personally. They were in no way "slagging" a brother. They're not discrediting him, or accusing him of heresy or false teaching. They're making fun of his mannerisms and the consistencies in each Nooma. It was done by a youth group, and they probably respect him enough to know the videos- since they know the consistencies present in most of his videos.

I really like the Nooma videos and Sex god was wonderful, but I thought this was hilarious. Lighten up.

  • dude, i like the fact you rescpect him and stand up for him and all. but you have2 thumbs down on the comment and the avsfan guy that commented is completly right. it's a youth group that did the video.

  • wow. that was funny. "the burrito of life'

  • Shovel another burrito in his fat fat face!!!!! LOL

This is hilarious! This made my day.

  • THIS IS SO FUNNY!

  • It looks as though people need to settle down about this lighthearted PARODY, this was meant as a joke, I'm pretty sure this guy isn't going to hell because he made an actually very funny video that wasn't meant to have a message.

  • the scriptures talk about burritos haha

  • I appreciate Rob Bell's videos. But Christians ( I fall under this category), need to learn some self-parody. Rob's emotion-filled dramatic delivery is slightly humorous in some ways, while also often carrying a profound message. Anyways people that leave messages on youtube video's are normally a little wacko. my own self-parody ;)

  • hahahahaha, also being a christian i agree completly. (:

  • So we should ask ourselves, "what are the burritos in our lives?" and "who do we share our burritos with?" "should we use wheat or corn wrappers for our burritos?" and "when the time comes will people have been blessed by my burrito?"

  • Its like Rob Bell, only male!

  • Why is it that the folks at Think Christian understand the concept of a parody, but seemingly 50+% of the YouTube Christian population is "wishing us luck in finding Jesus."

Google "Think Christian: You'd Been Nooma'd"

  • By the way volleykid24, "Butt" starts with a consonant, and therefore, you use the article a before it, not an. Secondly, Butt has two ts. Finally, I find it interesting that youre concerned about my lack of reverence, and you cant even muster up the strength for a shift-j to capitalize the name of our Lord. Just thought Id throw that one on the pile.

  • Looks like volleykid24 and Chelloben have condemned us as unsaved.

Here's the scary thing to me- this video is a PARODY that mimics style, not message. This video is created by Christians. But- what if we weren't Christians? You condemn us, judge us, and then never follow up with us. Do you really care about our "salvation" (which we already have by faith in Christ alone), or are you just trying to make yourself feel "Holier than thou"?

  • dude honestly i hope you had fun making an but out of yourself. i pray your not a youth leader or have any thing to do with teaching the gospel of god. i wish you luck in finding jesus because your lost bro.

  • G.K. Chesterton, once said that "every man who knocks on the door of brothel is looking for God" and I think that you guys have really brought this truth to light in the 21st Century using the metaphor of a burrito. Let us all be reminded of power of community the next time we indulge in the glorious unifying nature of the bu-rri-to.

  • It seems as though you've watched many Nooma videos, seeing as you did a pretty good job in imitating the way Rob speaks. But it amazes me that you are still so heartless. This saddened me, to be honest.

  • Why hate on him and what he's doing? It's funny and all..but mocking the Scriptures isn't cool.

  • This isn't slander. They're exaggerating the film and teaching style. Even if they're trying to criticize—rather than critique—Bell, it's so exaggerated for comedy that it doesn't put down Noomas at all.

  • Hey!! Nice to meet people who "get it"! May You continue to have the understanding of the Burrito of Life.

  • i am going to eat a burrito right now. I am one of the 28.

  • Only 27 burritos to go! Keep up the good work in the consuming of the burrito of life!

  • why is it that you people have to slander everything. your waisting your time...

  • Who's "you people," and by negatively "slandering" "us people," you are doing the exact thing that you seem to be opposed to... sounds like some good old fashioned hypocrisy to me...

  • LOL this was so funny!! I loved it.

  • Thanks!

  • Hilarious! You really captured the heart of the Nooma series and Rob Bell's mannerisms in a fun, non-offensive way. Great job!

There's always a critic, but I really was laughing out loud on this freely, even though I enjoy Rob Bell's videos.

Harmless and professional. Keep up the good work. I'll be emailing all my friends a link of this video.

  • Thanks, and thanks. Nice to meet people that get it, and ESPECIALLY people that pass it on!

  • It is about time that this message was put out there. It's interesting that in the Septuagint, the Hebrew Bur-hitor is translated into the Greek word 'amburgoros.

  • I'm glad that you appreciate the message. Fascinating exegesis!

Many people would be surprised to discover that several Theological Seminaries are now offering M.Div's in the Amburgology, or "the study of Biblical meats, and the applications thereof."

  • Although there is a worrying liberal stream of Amburgology where there have been attempts to apply this to chicking also. Known as the 'Colonelic Hermeneutic' I believe that it genuinely undermines this discipline. Remeber the disobedient hebrews built a golden calf not a golden chicken as an expresion of their Bur-hitor desires!

  • lol what a boob!

  • This is great - had me laughing out loud!

  • Thanks, CANAM. Feel free to pass it on!

  • haaaaaaa wot a loser.

  • To whom are you referring?

  • youthguy

  • The greatest thing is that youthguy isn't even seen in this video.

  • Yeah... he's the camera man and editor. I'm probably the loser that you're referring to...

  • Funny stuff, well thought out and you managed to keep me interested for 6:23 seconds talking about burritos. =o

And i hope your hand/wrist is better ^_^

  • Thanks- the wrist is indeed better. There were rumors that the wrist was over-used from mass-burrito consumption, but it was actually (and embarrassingly) a flag-football injury.

  • so incredibly well done!

  • Thanks, man. Nice to meet people who "get it."

  • people just like to be contrarians on here. Argue and take offense just to cure boredom. I loved it and even sent it to a few friends. Burrito in the Hebrew.... Yunno the Torah talks about burritos? Burrr reee tooow = community. Classic!

  • Glad you liked it enough to pass it on. We never expected this video to be so popular (8,000+ views as of today). We're flattered that people enjoy it.

May you learn to consume the Burrito of Life!

  • Why would they make a parody of nooma Bell is preaching about the words of God do you people know how insulting this is?

  • This is the opposite of insulting. Ever hear the phrase, "Immitation is the sincerest form of flattery"?

What do you want- anything that happens to contain a Christian message is untouchable in the field of comedy?

We fully endorse Pastor Bell's message- it's the delivery that we're having fun with. If you can't separate the two, then you obviously missed the point of this video.

  • This absolutely fantastic. I was crying in my cubicle I was laughing so hard. It helps that I do love burritos enough to spend more on them than education. Bravo

  • Thanks- feel free to spread the good news of the Burrito of life... by the way, "Nooma: Cubicle" sounds like a pretty good sequel...

  • hahahaha.

i know you don't need my approval.

    but i approve.

  • I approve of your approval.

  • this is amazing

  • Ha! What a great parody...the impression of Bell is spot on! Enjoyed it :]

  • Thanks! We're proud to have the #1 Nooma Parody (at least in terms of views) on the web.

  • hahaha

  • That was a great spoof. Loved it!

  • Thanks man.

  • Man, I had a quesadilla for lunch.

  • what song is playing?

  • arcane fire.

  • The song is Haiti by Arcade Fire

  • LOL! Did you know that 87.5% of all statistics are made up on the spot.

Great parody, just enough meat, and nice and cheesy in a good way!

  • Meat... cheese? Sounds like someone's been consuming the Burrito of Life!

  • 413 burritos?!?!?

  • That's nothing- imagine Finland- 826 Burritos/person/year. That's amazing!

  • dude that's funny stuff.....i'm a fan of Nooma, and thought this was excellent!!! peace

  • Glad you picked up on the "immitation sincerest form of flattery" theme.

  • you have a point but i think it's just lame

  • This was awesome! Good job. May your burritos warm you up on cold days! lol

  • Thanks, man.

  • i liked this but now after i went to honduras i really hate corn burritos, and tacos BLECH!

  • Brilliantly Satirical

  • hey

MR Gesch and Ron you guys rock soo much. Make another one soon. Its sooo funny! U got rob bell written all over your face Mr Gesch everything is just nailed down YOU GUYS RULE!!!

  • You guys did an amazing job! We were laughing so hard. You nailed Rob Bell perfectly! Thanks.

    Jesse and Julie

  • hey guys, really funny and profmac777 please lighten up, these guys were not trying to be disrespectful. It's just lighthearted fun. I hope to see more of these soon

  • HAHA.....supprisingly funny

  • Thanks man. Some brainstorming sessions for our next NOOMA will soon be in the works.

  • Awesome dude your crazy and funny post some more nooma spoofs

  • We really value Rob Bell's message as well. I used to go to Mars Hill in college and I think the Nooma's (the real ones) and his books are great. Lighten up a little, we only did the parody because of our love for the Nooma videos (and since everyone in our youth group has seen them, they were ripe for parody). And Profmac, please direct us to your youtube videos so that we can critique them. Thanks.

  • this would've been better with McDonalds but other than that Good Job (Kyla's ) lil' sis

  • wow. you really can't tell the difference between parody and reality. Of course you'd take Rob Bell over this- for an actual message. This is a parody of his video series... do you understand this concept?

  • Also, as for the head movements, those are an imitation of Bell's mannerisms on camera. Man, are you sure you "get" this?

  • not nearly as uncomfortable videography as the nooma videos -- need more head cutoffs, scarrt close facial shots, and walking cameras... well done though :-)

  • BURR RIII TTOO

  • This is definitely the funniest of the nooma spoofs, especially the way you imply that the money we spend on burritos in a year could be used to feed, clothe, educate, medicate, and prosper every poor person in the world.

  • And great job emphasizing the "may you" portion of the video.

  • that was an excellent parody. Spot on.

  • man now i really want a burrito

  • that was very funny

  • <3 my burritos! <3 Rob Bell and Nooma! Good job! :)

  • Thanks! Glad you liked it.

  • tee hee this is funny! I love the original nooma videos and felt a lil guilty laughing at this one, but it was so funny!

  • Nice Job Mr. Gesch u really should have been a comedian other than a 5th teacher the first parts of your career! But it was fun having u as a teacher! Sincerly and happy ur duringgreat working as a well i dnt quite no what u do any more , First class of 5th grade students

(one of ur student btw ita girl not a boy and no this is not reverse sycology!)

    ;- )

  • nice work... hope a second is on its way?

  • The random shots of feet at the beginning were to show that Jon, the friend, was there when "Rob" first sat down, then when we show that there are two burritos and cut to only "Rob's" feet, it shows that the friend is no longer there. At the end when "Rob" is washing his feet we see the friend's feet in the stall, indicating that the friend was in the crapper the whole time "Rob" was talking.

  • that's great

  • Nice job, but mostly to Rudi. Jon, you're feet were not made for television. I must say, I was a little confused by the random shots of feet in the beginning. What's up with that?

    Otherwise, very funny!

  • I disagree- Jon's beautiful figure was hand crafted for the screen.
