In music class a few days ago we were looking at music geanras of the 70's, On prog it said "A music style influenced by classical music at an intellectual standard, to be taken as a form of art" people knew that I know the most on prog, they looked at me, grinned and smiled. I love music!!!
hey i just realised that there at high voltage fest this year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it's them and marillion that are the main bands at the prog stage =D ... lol them and focus :L
"...but then the country called for a soldier, and he went off to foreign land..." That's how countries "call for soldiers" nowadays.. Nice song though.
Ok guys, get ready! The new album has been announced! The Whirlwind, containing the title track, 4 other songs and 4 covers. The catch? The title track is 77 minutes long!!!
I don´t know why many people criticise Neal for talking about Jesus , and praise Yes ( the second best progressive band) and jon anderson when he talks about new ages and wicca issues. .
Too bad there will not be a third album, since Neal Morse went and started his christian career, which is also very good progressive music, much more mentioning of God though. (For those who wouldn't like that)
I never said that this wasn't the first one, all I said was I should get this one and the 2nd one, plus the one that's coming out at the end of this year
I like the alternate version better. But still, fans old prog like Yes, Genesis etc. get your head out of your asses, Roine Stolt and Neal Morse have made tons of great music. Get out there and dig.
i cant believe i never heard of neal morse until a friend turned me on to spocks beard.I am excited about music again . Jubilation is the only word i can think of to explain how i feel right now , a kid on christmas morning this is fantastic stuff
wow im surprised, ive always looked down apon modern music but after hearing this its like whaaaa??????? this has got such a yes/genesis sound its rediculas! awesome band!
What's so great about these guys is that they combine all the great prog rock bands into their sound. You hear alittle Rush, Genesis, Yes, Gentle Giant, and Emerson Lake and Palmer in this song. Love this band!
This version is still pretty cool. If I had heard it 1st it wld of grown on me as I am an avid Beard fan 2nd to the masters of which their drummer is on this for all of us to sit in flabergation. The live version grew on me at 1st listen. In short, it came together, this supergroup, by chance thru circumstances and timing. Lucky for us, because we have the patience and hearing dexterity to want to hear something with a higher degree of dificulty other than what most radio shove down our ears.
@SzatanskiPoganin You right because two of the only prog bands that get lots of money are Opeth and Dream Theater. It's sad how many prog bands don't get enough money. ='(
@SzatanskiPoganin Wait, you can make succesful careers out of having sex without consent and by hiding in lamps and granting people wishes? Why wasn't I told about this??
What is up with these homo updates?

I'd really like to form a band like this but everyone at my school wants to play fucking deathcore. It's pretty frustrating :/
Anyway, the live version of this is better imo

It seems the only good Prog band making money now and days is Tool.

Nah, Porcupine Tree and Dream Theater are pretty fucking rich too. I a perfect world Neal Morse would sell twice as much as them though.

ANYWAYS, I heard their new album yesterday. Its pretty damned good.

I hate the fact, that stupid rapers and dj's earn more money from making music than genies like these and most of other prog-musicians ;(

@SzatanskiPoganin lol rapers , genies but i completely agree with u nowadays mainstream music is complete crap
elmen987 1 year ago 2
@SzatanskiPoganin It's because they do it for money. They claim it's for the music, but has their music always entailed? Marketing and money.
Economic stability is irrelevant to a real musician who only wants their perception of music to be heard and enjoyed as they enjoy it.
"to be taken as a form of art", as posted before me, pretty much sums it up.
So really, money means nothing. Those who measure their worth by it are too common, and it's quite depressing.
